Abstract

Assessment is an integrated part of the planning and implementation process of learning. The transition from KTSP to the 2013 curriculum is a problem for teachers in applying assessment skills in learning, because teachers still have difficulty implementing authentic assessments and still use assessments in terms of cognitive tests only (Setiadi, 2016). This study aims to determine the literacy profile of science teacher assessments at SMA Negeri 1 Gubug and the assessment used by science teachers. This is because there is no source of research on teacher awareness of assessment in SMA Negeri 1 Gubug. This research uses descriptive quantitative research method, with purposive sampling. The instruments used in this research are the assessment literacy test, interview guidelines, questionnaires, and check list sheets. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the assessment literacy profile of science teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Gubug is based on PAP Type II is in the "Very Low" category (assessment literacy questionnaire) and "Low" category (interview results). The teacher has the highest score with a score of 86% on the aspect of the difficulty of using the assessment, while the lowest score is on the aspect of attitude assessment by getting a score of 18%. The implication of this study is that by knowing the literacy assessment profile, teachers can understand and implement the importance of assessment so that this can be used as a benchmark in improving the quality of learning.

Abstract

Speaking is one of the difficult English skills for non-English department students. This is because students must understand how to produce good and correct sentences to pronounce. To produce a sentence, they must master a lot of vocabulary and master how to pronounce it. In addition, to be able to master speaking skills, students must also have self-confidence. This research aimed to know the problems encountered by Non-English Department students in speaking English and their causes and to find out the problem-solving encountered by non-English majoring students in speaking English. The researcher used descriptive qualitative research with a questionnaire and an interview to collect the data. The results of this study indicate that almost all students find problems (linguistic and nonlinguistic) in speaking English. Linguistic problems that are often found are a lack of grammar, poor pronunciation, and the last is lack of vocabulary. The non-linguistics are anxiety, shyness & lack of confidence. The factors causing the problem of speaking English in this study were low motivation, habits & mother tongue, lack of practice & opportunity, and fear of making mistakes. To solve the problem of speaking English is to improve vocabulary and pronunciation skills. Some ways to improve it are by listening and singing English songs, watching English movies to understand English sentences, and using Google Translate to look up the meaning of difficult words and how to pronounce them. In addition, to improve their speaking skills, sometimes students also practice speaking in English with their friends or independently.

Abstract

Diagnostic assessment aims to identify students' competencies, weaknesses, and strengths. The results are used by educators as a reference in planning learning according to the learning needs of students. The adequacy of the diagnostic assessment was assessed through analytical activities. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the diagnostic assessment prepared by educators in three teaching modules, namely the negotiating text teaching module for SMA Negeri 4 Palembang, SMA Negeri 2 Ungaran, and SMA Negeri 1 Bae Kudus. The research method used in this research is the descriptive method. This study uses the data analysis technique of the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The analysis results include component analysis of the suitability of learning objectives, learning content, and cognitive level. Furthermore, it shows that two of the three teaching modules are compatible with the objectives and learning content. The questions for the diagnostic text in the three teaching modules still apply the Low Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) level. Diagnostic assessment discrepancies in the teaching modules are then reconstructed so that the assessment has good criteria.

Abstract

To learn about other parts of math, like how to work with numbers, you need to know arithmetic. The characteristics and concepts in mathematics are interrelated, therefore students need to acquire an introductory or basic grasp to assist in developing math skills (even if operations are considered basic stuff). This comprehension lays the groundwork for the acquisition of other mathematical talents, including problem-solving skills, which are crucial to a kid's success in school. Students and teachers alike rely heavily on online resources, yet this resource is not fully utilized in today's educational systems. In addition, not all online e-modules meet the standards of good e-modules, which results in subpar learning and makes it harder to accomplish certain educational goals. The goal of this research is to create an expert-based, user-friendly, and practical e-module for teaching elementary school mathematics that incorporates APOS theory in order to improve students' ability to learn independently and solve problems. This type of research is Design Research with the type of development studies divided into three phases, namely Preliminary research, Development or prototyping phase, and Assessment phase. Students from SMP Negeri 1 Winong, and MA Darul Ma'la made up the research sample. The data was gathered through a combination of tests, questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The study's findings demonstrate that the generated e-modules are of sufficient quality in terms of being valid, practical, and effective. validated by material experts and media experts, including lecturers and teachers, so that this e-module is considered valid by material experts and media experts, practical by lecturers, teachers, and students who use it through questionnaires, and effective based on problem-solving abilities and student learning independence after implementation.

Abstract

The phenomenon of schools closing or being merged seems to be accepted by the public, but internally it is one of the failures of school management in maintaining the continuity of education. This research aims to explore school strategies to restore public trust through improving the quality of education. The methods used are the critical method, dialectical method, and scholastic method. This research is included in library research. The author tries to find data, and theories related to the issues raised in various literature or references that the author finds and then compares them using the method mentioned above. The research results show that management misconceptions are caused by various deficiencies ranging from lack of understanding to low managerial competence of school principals, which has an impact on the low quality of output, resulting in low public enthusiasm for the school. The efforts made by the school are expected to be comprehensive, both internal and external, including, 1) strengthening the learning community in the school. This community can be used as an effort to strengthen the competency of all human resources in the school, starting from the principal, teachers, and education staff. ; 2) creating a comfortable school ecosystem, comfortable not only for students but also for teachers and educational staff at the school; 3) collaboration with people and society, an effort that is no less important than the others, because this effort is like a double-edged sword, the context is to work together to improve the process and understanding of the quality measures of educational outcomes.
