Abstract

The current condition of the virtual laboratory is developing so rapidly, one indicator is the number of Mathematics students in open university who are looking for references related to practical geometry courses via online between lectures, this raises concern as a lecturer in adding value to lectures, which are adapted to the 21st century learning era today by creating virtual laboratories based on Virtual Reality, research methods using the ADDIE R D model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation and Evaluation), the science virtual lab product has not been developed much in Indonesia, another thing that makes the appeal of this virtual lab product is that it is able to display virtual reality which can increase motivation and learning outcomes. Student, based on the validation of media experts and material experts on the virtual geometry lab product, it scores 91 and 94 meaning that the virtual geometry lab product is very suitable for use, then more than 90% of lecturers and students at the Open University are very happy to use it. This research has shown that using virtual geometry labs in geometry learning at the Open University shows that all students show enthusiasm in using virtual geometry lab products as a supplement to geometry learning inside and outside the classroom. This was shown that after limited testing of virtual geometry lab products in the open university mathematics education study program, it showed that the majority had completed  B+ or a score above 85 in geometry learning.

Abstract

Math is a lesson that is difficult for children in Indonesia to understand. Especially in children with visual or blind disorders. This disorder makes it difficult for metematics to study, for in matematics it takes sight to read material to enhance the learning system. This study was developmental research that aimed to describe the result of instructional media development of math blind game with voice and QR code and describe their understanding after using math blind game with voice and QR code as learning media at special needs elementary school. The subject of this study is blind students grade 4th – 6th . The research model used was ADDIE development model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Data were collected using test and questionnaire to know their understanding of math blind game with voice and QR code as lerning media. The result showed that blind students responded positively with an average score of SUS score 83,75 (grade A). Therefore, it can be concluded that math blind game with voice and QR code can be used in teaching and learning activity to improve blind students’ understanding about matematics.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is implementation PhET Interactive Simulations Media with a Guided Inquiry Approach to Improve Students' Critical Thinking Skills" based on the description provided above. Physics Educational Technology (PhET) simulations is the virtual laboratory makes use of practical simulation principles to carry out engaging learning. By using an inquiry-based learning approach, students are trained to formulate problems, generate hypotheses, conduct experiments, gather data, analyze data, write and describe theories, and honestly follow rules so that the actions of the offenders mirror those of scientists. This study method is quasi-experimental, because it uses a guided inquiry learning strategy to assess how critical thinking abilities are improved when learning the pH of acid and base solutions. The study's conclusion is combining PhET Interactive Simulations media with a guided inquiry approach, the average learning outcomes are higher than when using a conventional learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the Geogebra-assisted Wondering, Exploring, and Explaining (WEE) learning model in improving the ability to understand mathematical concepts on lines and angles material at Junior High School of Darush Sholihin Batu in the 2022/2023 academic year. The study employs practical classroom action research, recruiting class VII-B as the research subjects. Interview guides, observation sheets, end-of-cycle test questions adapted to indicators of the ability to understand concepts, and field notes were the study's pilots for data collection. The findings showcased that the observation of teachers' and students' activities, the final cycle test completeness, and the interview results with happy students were boosted from cycles I to II. Furthermore, cycle II met the indicators of action success, indicating that the Geogebra-assisted Wondering, Exploring, and Explaining (WEE) learning model can improve the ability to understand mathematical concepts on lines and angles material at SMP Darush Sholihin Batu.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the quality of summative assessment tests in three modules of negotiation texts class X SMK at the vocational level. The quality of the questions is very influential on the results  of achieving the learning objectives of students as a basis for determining class increase or graduation from educational units. This research was conducted by analyzing (1) assessment qualifications in the module, (2) the level of difficulty of the questions, and (3) the cognitive level of the questions. The method used in this study is qualitative method with techniques by interviews and literature studies. The results showed that the application of summative assessment at SMKN 1 Bangil used more C4 reaching 50%. In addition, the difficulty level of the questions is categorized as good because the medium level has reached 50%. At SMKN 2 Purwosari shows more dominant use of C2 in the form of understanding of problems that have been learned in previous learning. This indicates the need for cognitive improvement in the problem to achieve balance. In addition, the difficulty level of the questions is categorized as good because the medium level has reached 50%. Furthermore, in the SMKN 2 Jepara module, more operational verbs use to apply (C3) and create (C6) which reaches a percentage of 26.7%. Through this analysis, there are several problems that have not been balanced in difficulty and cognitive levels and there needs to be reconstruction to achieve better student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Educational transformation is a phenomenon that always occurs in the dynamics of educational development. This research aims to explore school strategies for overcoming obstacles to educational transformation in schools. The methods used were the critical method, dialectical method, and scholastic method. This research was included in library research. The author tried to find data, and theories related to the issues raised in various literature or references that the author found and then compared them using the method mentioned above. The research results showed that the leadership style and use of an asset-based community approach were prospective alternatives for overcoming obstacles, especially financial limitations that exist in schools. The distributed and learning leadership style was an alternative leadership style that was a solution because this style could change the mindset of the entire school community in overcoming the obstacles that the school had been experiencing. A community-based approach had a great opportunity to overcome financial constraints through the formation and empowerment of educational communities within the school environment.

Abstract

This research explores a learning experience for pupils which can be considerably improved by focusing on several learning modes when teaching English as well as investigates teacher who engages the pupils and aid their understanding of English language subjects by accommodating different learning styles. This study focuses on qualitative design with a case study where the data was achieved through both classroom observation and interview. The participants were 36 entities of students and 1 English teacher who facilitated the learning at X-1 grade in SMA Negeri 14 Semarang in academic year 2022/2023. The findings show that the realization of guided learning through learning modalities could shape differentiated learning styles where the students can possess their profile or ability to accomplish the assignment. The conclusion sets out that teachers could possibly be aware of the learners'' situation in learning certain subjects by realizing the modalities of learning modes within guided learning to teach English text (exposition text), and the field of differentiated learning style can be implemented.

Abstract

The investigation examines the utilization of abstraction and computational thinking by educators to effectively navigate the complexities encountered in the educational setting. It underscores the significance of these cognitive capacities in the examination and determination of intricate issues. To facilitate students in problem-solving and decision-making, educators can utilize computational thinking to break down challenging issues into more manageable components. Two capacities that educators can utilize to apply their knowledge in various circumstances are the identification of patterns and the extrapolation of abstract notions. This research study demonstrated the utility of abstraction and computational thinking in equipping educators with the necessary tools to address classroom issues, which is particularly valuable for curricula focused on training future educators. The study not only identifies potential challenges but also offers recommendations for overcoming the difficulties that teachers may encounter when implementing these ideas in the classroom. By employing these tactics and recommended solutions, educators can help students improve their analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities, thus preparing them for the challenges of the digital era.
