Abstract

This study is motivated by the declining job satisfaction and work motivation of teachers at XYZ School, which is suspected to be influenced by the principal’s leadership style. The theoretical framework includes leadership style theories (transformational, transactional, authoritarian, participative), Herzberg’s job satisfaction theory, and motivation theories from Maslow and the two-factor theory. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers and students, observations, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model from Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the principal’s leadership style—closed, authoritarian, and non-participative—negatively affects teachers’ job satisfaction and motivation. Teachers feel excluded from decision-making, experience unfair treatment, and lack professional support. Moreover, the change in leadership has led to deteriorating relationships between the principal and teachers, marked by social divisions, distrust, and weakened collaboration. The school climate has become tense, discouraging both professional growth and educational quality. Non-inclusive leadership styles negatively impact the work climate in schools and lower the overall quality of education.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to enhance the ability to write free verse poetry through the application of the think talk write learning model for eighth-grade students at Tomosa 1 Christian Private Junior High School. The type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a procedure that consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research instruments include poetry text sheets, teacher observation sheets, researcher observation sheets, and field notes. The subjects of the research are 30 eighth-grade students. The research was conducted over two cycles. The results showed that in the first cycle, the percentage of classical completeness was 10%, while in the second cycle, the percentage of classical completeness rose to 90%. Observations were conducted on researchers and students which showed the results of the researchers' activity percentage in cycle I, the first meeting was 61.11%, while the second meeting was 77.78%, and in cycle II, the first meeting was 89.99%, while the second meeting was 94.44%. Furthermore, the percentage of students' activities in cycle I, the first meeting was 50.6%, while the second meeting was 77.6%, and the percentage in cycle II for the first meeting was 91%, while the second meeting was 96.6%. Thus, it is concluded that the implementation of the think talk write learning model can improve the ability to write poetry.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Canva-based animated game learning media called Batulia Play for reading and writing syllables in grade 1 students of SDN Pakis V Surabaya. This type of research is a development research (Research and Development) that adopts the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), focusing on visual and interactive aspects to increase student motivation and learning outcomes. Media validation was conducted by media experts, material experts, and through student responses, followed by a pretest-posttest test to measure its effectiveness. The validation results showed an average percentage of 97% from media experts, 88% from material experts, and 92.73% from student responses, all included in the “Strongly Agree” category. After using Batulia Play media, student learning outcomes increased by 11.38%. Thus, Batulia Play media is proven to be feasible and effective in learning to read and write syllables in grade 1 SDN Pakis V Surabaya.

Abstract

This research analyzes the influence of corporate core values, employee competencies, and leadership styles on employee performance at PT Arkana Solusi Digital (Arkana), an IT service company in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive and verificative methods, as well as a cross-sectional study design. The research population is all employees of Arkana in Jakarta, with 63 respondents participating. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The research results indicate that simultaneously, the company's core values, employee competencies, and leadership style have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.575, which means 57.5% of the variation in employee performance can be explained by these three variables. However, partially, the company's core values do not have a significant effect on employee performance (p=0.374), which indicates that the internalization of these values has not been optimal. In contrast, employee competencies (p < 0.001) and leadership style (p = 0.009) have a significant and positive effect on employee performance.

Abstract

The research aims to determine whether the work environment, organizational culture, and work-life balance affect employee job satisfaction at PT Supra Jaya Abadi Medan. The data analysis technique used is a quantitative research method with the help of SPSS version 25. The sample in this study consisted of 75 respondents. Primary data was collected using a questionnaire. This study employs multiple linear regression analysis. The research results indicate that the work environment has no significant partial effect on job satisfaction. Organizational culture has a positive and significant partial effect on job satisfaction. Work-life balance has a positive and significant partial effect on job satisfaction. The calculated F value is 30.642, which is greater than 2.73, and the significance value is 0.000, which is less than 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that hypothesis 4 is accepted and hypothesis 0 is rejected, so it can be concluded that the work environment, organizational culture, and work-life balance have a significant simultaneous effect on employee job satisfaction at PT Supra Jaya Abadi Medan.

Abstract

This research aims to examine how workload, occupational stress, and the work environment contribute to the performance of teachers at Yayasan Sekolah Bina Agung Medan. A quantitative associative method was applied, utilizing questionnaires distributed to 35 tenured teachers. Data analysis involved tests for validity and reliability, classical assumption analysis, and multiple linear regression using SPSS version 31, including t-tests, F-tests, and determination coefficient. The findings revealed that workload had a significant and positive partial influence on teacher performance. In contrast, job stress and the work environment did not have a significant effect when assessed individually. Nevertheless, when analyzed together, the three variables collectively had a meaningful impact on performance outcomes. The determination coefficient (R²) value was 0.881, indicating that 88.1% of the variation in teacher performance could be explained by these factors. These results emphasize the critical role of managing workload efficiently while acknowledging the supportive role of stress and environmental conditions in fostering teacher effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of financial literacy and pocket money on financial management in MBKM Management Study Program students in 2021, Panca Budi Development University, the type of research used in this study is associative research, the population in this study are MBKM Management Study Program students, Faculty of Social Sciences, Panca Budi Development University, class of 2021, totaling 176 people, the sampling technique used is the slovin method with a sample size of 64 people, the data analysis technique used in this study is multiple linear regression, the results of this study show that in this study the financial literacy variable has a positive and significant effect on financial management in MBKM Management Study Program students in the class of 2021, Panca Budi Development University seen from the calculated t value (3,700)> t table (1,999) and a significance level of 0.000 <0.05, In this study the pocket money variable has a positive and significant effect on financial management in MBKM Management Study Program students in the class of 2021, Panca Budi Development University Panca Budi, seen from the calculated t value (6.096)> t table (1.999) and a significance level of 0.005 <0.05, the independent variables consisting of Financial Literacy and Pocket Money simultaneously have a significant effect on financial management in MBKM students of the Management Study Program, Class of 2021, Panca Budi Development University.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the relationship between flood impacts, geographical location, and regional vulnerability in Indonesia through a literature study approach. The results of the study show that geographical locations such as lowlands, basins, watersheds, and coastal areas greatly affect the level of regional vulnerability to flooding. In addition to physical factors, social and economic aspects such as population density, poverty level, and land use change due to urbanization also increase the risk and impact of flooding. Floods not only cause physical and economic damage, but can also permanently change the configuration of geographic areas, exacerbating future vulnerability. Consequently, this research emphasizes the importance of a multidimensional approach to flood management, with the integration of physical, social, economic and environmental aspects, supported by Geographic Information System (GIS)-assisted vulnerability mapping, to sustainably reduce disaster risks and impacts.

Abstract

This research aims to produce learning media in the form of almath games based on metacognition activities on students' mathematical reasoning abilities on algebraic form materials. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model which includes five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of grade VII students at SMP Negeri 5 Sungai Kakap with a total of 29 students. The research instruments used included expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests (posttests). Based on the results of the validation of material experts and media experts with an overall average score of 92.56% with very valid criteria. The results of the practicality score were seen from the teacher response questionnaire and the student response questionnaire with an overall average score of 92.56% with very practical criteria. Meanwhile, the effectiveness value of the developed media was obtained from the results of the students' posttest. For the results of class completion (%) ≥ 75 who obtained a percentage of 89.65% with very effective criteria. Based on the results of the study, the almath game media based on metacognition activities on students' mathematical reasoning skills is suitable for use in mathematics learning, especially in algebraic form material for grade VII junior high school.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of virtual simulation-based data communication learning. Using a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design, this study involved students taking the Data Communication course. This innovative learning was implemented for one full semester. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test to measure students' understanding and skills, as well as questionnaires to obtain students' perceptions of learning. Data analysis was done quantitatively using paired sample t-test to compare pre-test and post-test scores, and descriptive percentage analysis to evaluate questionnaire responses. The results show that virtual simulation-based data communication learning is significantly able to improve learning effectiveness, as well as student understanding and skills. Therefore, virtual simulation-based learning is highly recommended as an effective alternative learning approach in the field of information technology.
