Abstract

This study aims to: (1) analyze the strategies for implementing career guidance using modeling techniques at SMK Muhammadiyah Kota Cirebon; (2) identify the obstacles encountered in the implementation of career guidance strategies using modeling techniques; and (3) examine the benefits of implementing these strategies for students in career planning. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of the principal, guidance and counseling teachers, and 10 students of SMK Muhammadiyah Kota Cirebon who participated in career guidance services. Data were collected through in-depth interviews to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the strategies for implementing career guidance using modeling techniques. The results indicate that career guidance strategies using modeling techniques are effective in bridging students’ readiness from the school environment to the world of work and professional life in a more mature manner. The obstacles identified include limited time for coordination with industry partners, the need to update practical facilities, and differences in students’ characteristics. To address these challenges, the school has undertaken various efforts, such as strengthening internal coordination, providing individual guidance, and improving facilities that support career guidance services. The benefits of implementing this strategy include increased self-understanding, enhanced career knowledge, improved motivation, and greater readiness among students in planning their future careers.

Abstract

Basic literacy skills, including reading, writing, and arithmetic, are the main foundation for the learning success of primary school students. However, after the Covid-19 pandemic, some students in Indonesia, including those in Kupang City, still experience difficulties in mastering basic literacy due to learning loss. This study aims to analyse basic literacy clinical assistance strategies through the Lopo Pintar Programme as a community-based intervention model in supporting the recovery of primary school students' literacy skills. The research method used is a narrative literature review by examining scientific articles, education policy reports, and relevant local government programme documents. The results of the study show that contextual, intensive, and collaborative clinical literacy assistance has proven effective in improving the reading and writing skills of primary school students. The involvement of teacher training students as learning assistants also plays an important role in creating an adaptive, interactive, and meaningful learning process for students. These findings confirm that community-based literacy interventions are a relevant and sustainable strategy for accelerating the recovery of students' basic literacy skills after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the thoughts and contributions of KH. Imam Zarkasyi in the renewal of Islamic boarding school education in Indonesia. The method used in this study is a literature review, with a case study approach. Data were obtained from books, journals, proceedings, magazines, and scientific articles, and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques that include the stages of comparison, contrast, and critique. The study's results indicate that the renewal of Islamic boarding school education was initiated by KH. Imam Zarkasyi is based on four main aspects, namely the renewal of the structure and management of Islamic boarding school institutions based on waqf, the development of an integrative curriculum that combines religious knowledge and general knowledge in a balanced manner, the implementation of a modern and organized classical boarding school education system and method, and the formation of the mindset of students through the internalization of the Panca Jiwa Pondok values. In addition, this study found that the concepts of the hidden curriculum and 24-hour education implemented at the Darussalam Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School contributed significantly to the formation of students' characters as independent, broad-minded, and oriented towards social service. The educational thoughts of KH. Imam Zarkasyi is a relevant model for developing modern Islamic boarding schools that remain rooted in Islamic values and are adaptable to the demands of changing times.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the understanding and commitment of educational stakeholders, namely teachers, school management, and the community, to implementing multicultural education as a response to the issue of intolerance. The research data sources come from national and international scientific journals, research articles, reference books, and relevant educational policy documents and publications published in the last two decades. Data collection techniques from relevant and credible literature, with data analysis techniques using content analysis methods to identify patterns, supporting factors, and challenges in the process of internalizing tolerance values, this study found that the main factors supporting the success of multicultural education are responsive curriculum updates, practice-based teacher training, the formation of inclusive teams, strengthening social networks, and the integration of digital media as a learning medium. Constructive collaboration between parties within the school environment, as well as family and community involvement, has proven vital to realizing the internalization of values of tolerance and respect for different identities among students. These findings underscore the importance of synergy across educational elements and the need for policies that are responsive and adaptive to global social and technological dynamics.

Abstract

Work readiness is a key competency that vocational high school graduates must possess in order to compete in an increasingly dynamic labor market. However, in practice, many vocational students still experience career confusion, limited career planning, and insufficient understanding of workplace demands. This study aims to describe the role of vocational career guidance in enhancing students’ work readiness at SMK Muhammadiyah Sumowono. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving students, guidance and counseling teachers, and school management as research participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, while data credibility was ensured through source and technique triangulation. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that vocational career guidance plays an important role in helping students recognize their potential, understand the world of work, and develop more realistic career plans. Nevertheless, the implementation of career guidance faces several challenges, such as limited service time, varying levels of student motivation, and minimal involvement of industry partners. This study concludes that vocational career guidance has a strategic contribution to improving students’ work readiness and should be strengthened through collaboration among schools, parents, and industry

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia marks a paradigmatic transformation in the national education system, shifting from an administrative approach toward a deep philosophical transformation. This study aims to analyze the Merdeka Curriculum as a construction of knowledge through the perspective of the philosophy of science, which includes ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions. Using a descriptive qualitative method through literature study, this research explores how the curriculum reformulates the nature of knowledge and the position of students. The analysis results show that, ontologically, the Merdeka Curriculum views knowledge as a dynamic-contextual entity and students as autonomous subjects. Epistemologically, there is a shift toward inquiry-constructivist learning through direct experience (learning by doing). Axiologically, the goal of education is directed at shaping a whole human being through the Pancasila Student Profile. The synergy between Progressivism, Constructivism, and the ideas of Ki Hajar Dewantara forms a solid foundation for this curriculum, although challenges such as the readiness of educators' mentality and infrastructure still remain major obstacles in its implementation

Abstract

Advances in information technology have a significant impact on the world of education, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. The use of technology is necessary to avoid monotonous learning, so teachers are required to develop innovative learning media, one of which is through the use of QR Codes. This study aims to determine the impact of using QR Code media in PAI learning at MA Nur Al-Jadid Waru Sidoarjo. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with 16 grade XII students as subjects. Data were collected through observation and literature studies, then analyzed using an interactive analysis model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the use of QR Code media has a positive impact on PAI learning, marked by increased student interest and activeness, ease of independent material access, and a better understanding of abstract PAI material. QR Code media is considered effective and relevant to the characteristics of students in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to address student passivity in English language learning at SMA Nurul Jadid through the implementation of classroom speaking activities. Student passivity, manifested through sleeping behavior during lessons, presents a serious challenge that impedes language acquisition. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology following Kemmis and McTaggart's model, consisting of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting, conducted over two cycles with each cycle comprising two sessions. Data collection techniques included observation checklists, field notes, video recordings, and semi-structured interviews with students and teachers. The findings demonstrate significant success in reducing student passivity. In Cycle 1, sleeping behavior decreased from 37.5% to 9.4%, while active participation increased from 25% to 68.8%. Cycle 2 showed dramatic improvements with complete elimination of sleeping behavior (0%), active participation rising to 90.6%, and average speaking time increasing by 1,092% compared to baseline conditions. A total of 90.6% of students expressed desire for more speaking activities in future lessons. This research concludes that systematically designed, varied, and appropriately scaffolded speaking activities can effectively transform passive learning behaviors into active participation patterns in Indonesian high school English classrooms.

Abstract

Islamic education today stands at a crossroads between preserving tradition (al-turāts) and the demands of modernity (al-ḥadītsah). Entering the third decade of the 21st century, the challenges faced have evolved from the VUCA era to the BANI era (brittle, anxiety, non-linear, incomprehensible), which is characterised by uncertainty and high complexity. These conditions require Islamic educational institutions to have organisational resilience so that they do not experience entropy or systemic decline. This study aims to describe the organisational strategies of Islamic education in facing the challenges of the contemporary era through the Systems Theory and Contingency Theory approaches. The research method used is a literature study with a descriptive-critical analysis design. The results of the study indicate that, from the perspective of Systems Theory, Islamic educational organisations need to function as open systems that integrate Islamic values as a spiritual anchor with the use of modern technology, such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence, as a new source of energy (negative entropy). Meanwhile, Contingency Theory emphasises the importance of situational and flexible managerial adaptation, including a shift from rigid bureaucratic structures to more organic and responsive structures through the mechanism of shura. The synthesis of these two approaches gives rise to the concept of managerial tajdīd, which balances the stability of transcendental values with operational agility to produce relevant insan kāmil in the digital age

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze in depth the axiology of Islamic Education Management (MPI) and its implications for the formation of Islamic character in the educational process. MPI axiology emphasizes the objectives and benefits of all managerial activities (planning, organizing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating) in order to achieve educational effectiveness. The method used in this study is library research, which involves collecting, reviewing, and analyzing data sourced from literature, journals, and books related to values, ethics, morality, and management in the context of Islam. The results of the study show that values in MPI have two tendencies, namely theoretical values that form systematic scientific principles, and practical values that are oriented towards the internalization of Islamic culture into the souls of educational subjects. The ethical and moral foundation of MPI is derived from Prophetic Values (Shiddiq, Amanah, Tabligh, Fathanah), which are used as universal guidelines in leadership and management. The main educational values are classified into I'tiqodiyah (faith), Khuluqiyah (behavior, including compassion), and Amaliyah (mahḍah and ghairu mahḍah worship). The implementation of this axiology must be in line with al-Dharuriyat al-Sittah (Maqasid Syariah) to ensure the achievement of maslahah, making Islamic education an investment for success in this world and the hereafter.
