Abstract

This study aims to develop the creativity and practical skills of students at MI Muhammadiyah Lubuk Banjar through the use of recycled materials as learning media. The recycled materials used include cardboard, plastic bottles, beads, and sticks, which are processed into various crafts through hands-on activities. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with MI Muhammadiyah Lubuk Banjar students as the research subjects. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, practical activities, and documentation of the learning process and student work. The results show that the use of used items as learning media can increase student creativity, develop practical skills, especially fine motor skills, accuracy, and neatness, as well as foster an attitude of caring for the environment. In addition, this practice-based learning activity encourages students to be more active, innovative, confident, and able to work together in groups. Thus, the use of used items can be used as an alternative learning medium that is effective, educational, contextual, and environmentally friendly in learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

The use of artificial intelligence in English language learning in higher education continues to increase, but understanding of students' perceptions of ChatGPT as an academic learning partner remains limited. Therefore, this study aims to explore students' perceptions of the use of ChatGPT as an English learning partner and its role in supporting independent and academic learning. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through open-ended questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with undergraduate students who had experience using ChatGPT in English learning. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to identify patterns and meanings within students' experiences. The results indicate that students perceive ChatGPT as an accessible, flexible, and personalized learning partner, supporting learning outside the classroom and creating a low-anxiety learning environment. ChatGPT was deemed effective in improving reading and writing skills through providing linguistic clarification and cognitive support. Furthermore, its use contributed to increased learning autonomy and academic self-confidence. However, students also expressed critical awareness of ChatGPT's limitations, particularly regarding response accuracy and its limited role in supporting speaking skills. Overall, ChatGPT is viewed as a complementary learning partner that supports, but does not replace, conventional English language instruction.

Abstract

Indonesian language learning in analysing information at primary school requires students to have critical thinking skills in understanding, interpreting, and drawing conclusions from texts. However, learning that is still dominated by conventional methods causes students to be less active and have difficulty identifying important information and providing logical reasons. One of the contributing factors is the limited use of interactive learning media. This study aims to develop interactive animated videos on the subject of analysing information to improve the critical thinking skills of Phase C students at SD Muhammadiyah Wiwitan, Luwu Regency. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of 25 fifth-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, questionnaires, expert validation, and pre- and post-tests. The results showed that the interactive animated video developed was highly valid based on the assessment of subject matter and media experts. The practicality test showed that the responses of teachers and students were highly practical. In addition, the effectiveness test showed an increase in students' critical thinking skills based on a comparison of pretest and posttest results.

Abstract

Digital transformation has influenced educational activities and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in rural areas, including in Lubuk Banjar Village. The use of digital technology by educators and MSME actors facilitates learning and business management, but also increases the risk of digital security threats such as account hacking, online fraud and data misuse. This community service activity aims to improve digital literacy and awareness among educators and MSME actors as part of efforts to strengthen village defence and security. The method of implementation was through socialisation and interactive training activities involving the village's younger generation as facilitators and mentors, with material covering secure password management, digital fraud prevention, and digital asset protection. The activities were carried out through material presentations, discussions, case simulations, and hands-on practice. The results of the activities showed an increase in participants' understanding of the importance of maintaining digital account security, the ability to recognise various forms of online fraud, and awareness of the need to implement basic cybersecurity measures in educational and business activities. The synergy between the younger generation, educators, and MSME actors plays a strategic role in strengthening the digital resilience and security of Lubuk Banjar Village in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Educational transformation in the modern era demands systemic changes that not only focus on the curriculum or technology but also on the culture that binds all components of the school. This article aims to analyze how schools function as a cultural system in the process of educational transformation. The research method used is a qualitative-descriptive study with a literature review approach on organizational culture theory, educational ecology theory, and educational transformation theory. The sources of data for this study include academic books, articles in national and international journals, as well as policy documents and international reports. Data analysis was carried out using content analysis with stages of data reduction, concept categorization, and interpretative analysis. The study results indicate that schools have a character as cultural systems marked by values, norms, symbols, habits, and social practices that shape the institution's identity. Educational transformation will be effective if changes encompass cultural aspects, including leadership patterns, social relationships, learning practices, and adaptation to technology. This study emphasizes that structural changes without cultural change only result in superficial transformation. The article implies that policymakers and schools need to reorganize the paradigm of change by placing culture as the main foundation of educational transformation

Abstract

This study aims to analyze conflict management at Pondok Pesantren Al-Ihsan Pandeglang, focusing on improving teacher performance and the leadership style of the pesantren. The method used is qualitative research with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers, students, and pesantren leaders. Data analysis was conducted descriptively using a triangulation approach to ensure the validity and reliability of the data. The results show that teacher performance at Pondok Pesantren Al-Ihsan is significantly influenced by internal factors such as competence, responsibility, and work ethic, as well as external factors such as interpersonal relationships, communication, and reward systems. Most conflicts within the pesantren environment stem from differences in perspectives, lack of coordination, and unclear task distribution. To address these issues, a leadership style based on deliberation and a collaborative approach has proven effective in resolving conflicts. This research provides significant implications for pesantren management, particularly in strengthening conflict management systems through improving teacher performance and developing an inclusive and solution-oriented leadership style. By implementing appropriate strategies, Pondok Pesantren Al-Ihsan can create a harmonious, productive learning environment that supports the character development of students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe elementary school students’ experiences in managing anxiety during classroom presentations on the topic of Earth’s layer structure in IPAS learning at SDN Dukuh Kupang V Surabaya. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving 27 fifth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, presentation observations, and learning documentation. Data analysis was conducted inductively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that most students experienced anxiety in physical, emotional, and behavioral forms, such as nervousness, trembling, and difficulty speaking. Anxiety was influenced by low self-confidence, limited mastery of the material, and classroom social pressure. However, students applied simple strategies to manage anxiety, including practicing, regulating breathing, and receiving peer support. Teachers also played an important role in creating a safe and supportive learning environment. These findings emphasize the importance of addressing students’ emotional aspects in IPAS learning.

Abstract

The low interest in reading among students is caused by the condition of the reading corner and library which are poorly organized and less attractive. This study aims to describe the implementation of the reading corner and library revitalization program as an effort to increase students' interest in reading at SDN Wonoayu. The method used is a qualitative descriptive study carried out by KKN-T Group 15 students from Universitas PGRI Madiun involving SDN Wonoayu school residents. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using content analysis techniques through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that after the revitalization program was implemented, there was an increase in students' interest in reading, marked by increased use of the reading corner and library by students, especially during breaks and learning activities. This revitalization creates a comfortable, neat, and attractive reading environment that encourages students to read independently. Thus, the reading corner and library revitalization program plays an important role in supporting literacy activities and fostering a culture of reading in elementary schools.

Abstract

The digital era has brought significant transformation to Islamic Religious Education (PAI), resulting in a crisis of essentialism in which the core values of Islamic teachings—such as tawhid, morality, and worship—are increasingly reduced to symbolic expressions rather than deeply internalised spirituality. This study aims to analyse the crisis of essentialism in PAI and explore strategies for revitalising its essential meaning amid the dominance of digital culture. Using a qualitative library research method, data were collected from books, journal articles, and scientific publications relevant to Islamic education and digital culture. The findings show that digital media has fostered a form of superficial religiosity characterised by performative piety, weak moral reflection, and diminished transcendental awareness. This crisis is mainly caused by the dominance of visual-symbolic culture, low levels of religious digital literacy, limited pedagogical adaptation among PAI teachers, and an unresponsive curriculum to contemporary challenges. To address these issues, the study proposes integrative and transformative strategies, including strengthening religious digital literacy, applying reflective-contextual pedagogy, implementing project-based learning, and redefining the teacher’s role as a spiritual mentor. Strengthening a school culture rooted in Islamic spirituality is also crucial to restoring the depth and authenticity of Islamic values.
