Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Gestalt counseling in reducing negative self-concept among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Mandrehe, characterized by feelings of being disliked, irritability, low learning motivation, and poor social adjustment. A quantitative approach was employed using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design involving 17 students selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that met validity and reliability criteria (Cronbach’s Alpha for the independent variable = 0.917 and dependent variable = 0.896). Data analysis was conducted using a paired sample t-test and N-Gain analysis. The findings revealed a statistically significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05; t = 16.577), with a mean N-Gain score of 0.83 (83.30%), categorized as effective. These results indicate that Gestalt counseling is empirically effective in reducing students’ negative self-concept and may serve as a humanistic-based intervention model within school guidance and counseling services.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of reality counseling on improving self-confidence among eleventh-grade students at SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli in the 2024/2025 academic year. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was employed. The population consisted of 80 students, and 30 students were selected using purposive sampling based on low self-confidence criteria, then assigned into experimental and control groups (15 students each). Data were collected using a 30-item Likert-scale questionnaire that met validity (Pearson Product Moment) and reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha) requirements. The procedure included pretesting, implementation of reality counseling intervention for the experimental group, and posttesting for both groups. Data analysis involved normality, homogeneity, and Independent Sample t-Test at a 0.05 significance level. The findings revealed a significant difference between groups (p < 0.05), with higher posttest mean scores in the experimental group. These results confirm that reality counseling is empirically effective in enhancing students’ self-confidence and can serve as a strategic school counseling intervention.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of mediation services in improving students’ interpersonal relationships at SMK Swasta Kristen Tomosa 2. Interpersonal conflicts characterized by miscommunication, unhealthy competition, and peer disputes have negatively affected the learning climate, highlighting the need for empirically tested interventions. This research employed a quantitative approach with a pretest–posttest control group design. A total of 30 students were selected through simple random sampling and assigned to experimental and control groups. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that met validity and reliability criteria (Cronbach’s alpha > 0.60). Data analysis included normality and homogeneity tests, an independent sample t-test, and N-Gain analysis. The results revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (sig. 2-tailed = 0.000 < 0.05). The experimental group achieved an average N-Gain score of 66% (moderate category), while the control group obtained 17% (low category). These findings indicate that mediation services are effective in enhancing students’ interpersonal relationships, particularly in terms of trust, openness, communication skills, and constructive conflict resolution.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of students’ honesty character, reflected in behaviors such as cheating, lying, and denying mistakes at SMK Negeri 3 Hiliserangkai. The research aimed to analyze the effect of classical guidance services and information services on improving students’ honesty character, both simultaneously and partially. A quantitative associative approach was employed using multiple linear regression analysis. The population consisted of 190 students, with a purposive sample of 30 eleventh-grade TKJ students. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, and were analyzed using prerequisite tests and regression hypothesis testing. The findings revealed that classical guidance and information services had a significant effect on enhancing students’ honesty character, both jointly and individually. Improvement was indicated by the difference in scores before and after the intervention. These results confirm that structured guidance and counseling interventions are effective in strengthening the internalization of honesty values and contribute significantly to the reinforcement of character education in schools.

Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of group guidance services employing role-playing techniques in reducing social anxiety among eighth-grade students. A quantitative approach was applied using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The population consisted of 60 students, and 30 participants were selected through purposive sampling based on initial screening results indicating moderate to high levels of social anxiety. Data were collected using a Likert-scale social anxiety questionnaire developed from established theoretical indicators and tested for validity and reliability through a pilot study. Data collection was conducted in two stages: pretest administration prior to the intervention and posttest following four structured treatment sessions. Data analysis began with prerequisite tests, including normality (Shapiro–Wilk), homogeneity (Levene’s test), and linearity, confirming that the data met parametric assumptions. Hypothesis testing was conducted using a paired sample t-test, followed by multiple regression analysis to examine simultaneous effects, and the coefficient of determination (R²) to measure effect size. The findings revealed a statistically significant decrease in social anxiety scores after the intervention, with an effective contribution of 66.8%, indicating both statistical and substantive impact of the treatment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Management Information Systems (MIS) in improving service quality for consumers at Songket Unggan MSMEs in Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach to gain an in-depth understanding of MIS implementation within the enterprise. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with business owners and consumers, direct observation of service and operational processes, and documentation of transaction records and digital promotional media. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and systematic conclusion drawing to obtain a comprehensive overview of the effectiveness of information system implementation in enhancing service quality. The results indicate that the adoption of digital transaction recording, social media promotion, and non-cash payment systems has improved service speed, transaction accuracy, and customer satisfaction. However, the implementation still faces challenges related to limited digital literacy and supporting infrastructure. Therefore, improving digital competencies and strengthening local government support are essential to optimize MIS implementation.

Abstract

The development of information technology in the digital era encourages the retail sector to optimize the use of Management Information Systems (MIS) to improve operational efficiency and competitiveness. Citra Swalayan Muaro, as one of the local retail businesses, faces increasingly intense competition and therefore requires an integrated and accurate information management system to support transaction processes, inventory management, and the preparation of reports quickly and accurately. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method to analyze the implementation of the existing system. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the implementation of MIS is able to increase transaction speed, minimize errors in stock recording, and provide more accurate and real-time sales information. This improvement in operational efficiency contributes to strengthening competitiveness through more responsive services, more effective cost control, and data-based decision making. However, system optimization still requires improved integration between departments and the strengthening of human resource competencies so that the use of technology can be maximized.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the mathematical creative thinking abilities of sixth-grade MI students through the Collaborative Problem Solving model of flat shape material as an effort to improve fluency, flexibility, and novelty in problem solving. This research method applies a qualitative approach with a case study design using eight learning groups, namely two heterogeneous groups, two high homogeneous groups, two medium homogeneous groups, and two low homogeneous groups. Data were obtained through problem-solving tests, observations, interviews, focus group discussions, and documentation, which were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, covering the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings show that heterogeneous groups display the most optimal creative thinking abilities because they are able to consistently produce many diverse ideas, strategies, and new solutions. Highly homogeneous groups also showed good creative performance, especially in fluency and novelty, but their strategic flexibility was relatively limited. Moderately homogeneous groups were in the moderately creative category with developing idea variation, while low homogeneous groups produced fewer ideas and strategies. These findings confirm that appropriate grouping in CPS plays an important role in optimizing the development of creative thinking.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on the mathematics learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at MTsS Yati Kamang Mudik. This research is quantitative research with a pre-experimental research type. The population in this study is all seventh-grade students of MTsS Yati Kamang Mudik, consisting of 2 classes with a total of 34 students. Class VII.1 was obtained as the experimental class and class VII.2 as the control class. In this regard, the research was conducted on two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. In the experimental class, the teaching and learning process was carried out by implementing Project Based Learning (PjBL), whereas in the control class, the teaching and learning process was carried out using conventional learning. The instrument used in this study was a mathematics learning outcomes test. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (t-test). The calculated t-test result was 1.867 with a table t-value of 1.693, so because the calculated t is greater than the table t, H0 is rejected. It is concluded that there is an effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on students' mathematics learning outcomes in class VII of MTsS Yati Kamang Mudik.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the implementation of an integrated community service model conducted by KKN students to enhance educational literacy, administrative governance, and digital information systems in Dusun Waru, Samigaluh, Kulon Progo. The method employed a participatory approach consisting of socialization, planning, implementation, and evaluation stages based on social reflection. The programs included interactive learning media and learning motivation sessions for elementary students, assistance in school and TPA accreditation preparation, administrative data collection for residents and Posbindu, early marriage awareness socialization, compost-making training, renewal of administrative signboards, and the development of an official village website. The results indicate increased student learning enthusiasm, improved administrative order, enhanced institutional readiness for accreditation, and the establishment of a website to support transparency and public information access. This integrated service model effectively strengthens community capacity in educational, administrative, and digital aspects and has the potential to be replicated in similar rural contexts.
