Abstract

This study aims to examine student characteristics as a basis for designing effective learning. The study employed a literature review approach by analyzing various theories and previous research findings relevant to the physical, cognitive, emotional, social, moral, and spiritual development of students over the past ten years. The literature was selected based on criteria such as relevance to the topic, recency of publications, and the credibility of sources such as scientific journals, academic books, and research documents. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, grouping themes, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that student characteristics are influenced by internal factors such as heredity, maturity, and learning motivation, as well as external factors such as family, school, and community environments, which interact to shape the learning process. The findings also confirm that understanding student characteristics enables teachers to design learning that is more adaptive, contextual, and tailored to students' developmental needs. Therefore, this study concludes that a comprehensive understanding of student characteristics plays a crucial role in improving learning effectiveness and achieving meaningful learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the ASIK (Aku Selalu Introspeksi Karakter) program as an innovation to strengthen character education in third-grade students of SD Negeri Danasri Kidul 01. The study used a descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation and documentation. Data were analyzed using comparative descriptive analysis by comparing the condition of students' character before and after the program implementation, then strengthened through documentation analysis of learning activities. The ASIK program was implemented through four main activities, namely the Circle of Feelings, Dilemma Stories, Reflection Notes, and Heart Vitamins, which were designed to develop empathy, self-reflection, honesty, and responsibility. The results showed an increase in all character indicators, namely empathy from 54% to 85%, reflective from 54% to 77%, honesty from 46% to 69%, and responsibility from 54% to 85% after two weeks of implementation. These findings indicate that the ASIK program is effective as a habituation strategy that encourages the internalization of character values through self-reflection, emotional involvement, and structured social interaction. This study provides a practical contribution in the form of a simple model that can be adapted by elementary schools to strengthen character education systematically and sustainably.

Abstract

The culture of cleanliness in schools is still dominated by adherence to teacher instructions, so students' independent initiatives in maintaining cleanliness have not developed optimally. This condition indicates the need for character education innovations that can shape positive habits sustainably. This study aims to describe the implementation of the BeST (Clean Up Trash Without Being Ordered) character education innovation in developing students' independent initiatives at Siwarak Wetan Public Elementary School. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with 124 students in grades I-VI as subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, teacher diaries, reflection sheets, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The implementation of BeST was carried out through the BeST Face Board, Initiative Coins, and 2-Minute Reflections. The results showed that the number of independent clean-up actions increased by 150%, from 34 actions in the 3rd week to 85 actions in the 8th week. In addition, 87.5% of students showed initiative to clean up trash without being ordered and the amount of scattered trash during recess decreased by around 60–70%. These findings indicate that the BeST innovation is effective in building positive habits in students and has the potential to be implemented as a positive reinforcement-based character education model in elementary schools

Abstract

This study aims to analyze optimization strategies, curriculum integration, and the impact of Keat Taubahan local content learning in shaping students' religious character at MTs At Taubah Cimanggu. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed through data reduction, thematic grouping, data presentation, and drawing and verifying conclusions. The results of the study show three main findings. First, learning optimization is carried out through the use of Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) and video assignments in the DUKLET private Facebook group to increase the engagement of digital generation students. Second, curriculum integration is realized through co-curricular activities of local history murals and learning religious practices in stages, including prayer readings, bilal, wirid, and tahlil. Third, learning contributes to the habit of independent worship at home and strengthening spiritual awareness through pilgrimages to the graves of local figures. The Personality Book serves as an instrument for monitoring the development of students' worship and memorization by involving the madrasah and parents. These findings indicate that character-based local content learning can be developed adaptively through the integration of technology, local history, religious habits, and continuous monitoring.

Abstract

Writing in English remains one of the most challenging skills for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners, particularly in achieving grammatical accuracy. Although previous research has extensively classified grammatical errors, qualitative studies on the factors underlying these errors in high school students in North Bali are still limited. This study aims to identify the types of English writing errors and analyze the factors contributing to their occurrence. The study employed a qualitative case study design with data obtained through student writing assignments, semi-structured interviews, and learning support documents. Data were analyzed using the principles of Error Analysis and thematic analysis. The results identified five main categories of errors: omission, misinformation, misordering, overgeneralization, and global errors, with omission being the most dominant category. Interview analysis indicated that these errors were influenced by first language interference, limited grammatical knowledge, literal translation, limited exposure to English, and classroom learning experiences. These findings suggest that writing errors are the result of an interaction of linguistic, cognitive, and instructional factors. Pedagogically, the research findings emphasize the importance of contextual grammar instruction, meaningful writing practice, and constructive corrective feedback in EFL learning.

Abstract

Post-production food waste is a common issue in hotel dinner buffet services due to leftover food remaining after service has ended. This study aims to examine the condition of post-production food waste, the control measures implemented, and the indicators of successful post-production food waste control in the dinner buffet service at Pavilion Restaurant, JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and post-production food waste weighing conducted over a 10-day observation period. The findings indicate that post-production food waste originated from leftover food on the buffet line, food remaining after service, and food that could not be reused due to food safety standards. The contributing factors included overproduction, the characteristics of buffet service, inaccurate buffet replenishment, and the implementation of food safety standards. The total post-production food waste generated during the study was 46.111 kg, with an average of 4.611 kg per day. Food waste control was implemented through production planning, guest forecasting, Final Guest Count, Standardized Recipes, Portion Control, Batch Cooking, buffet replenishment, and buffet line monitoring. The success of food waste control was indicated by production accuracy, reduced overproduction, and a reduction in post-production food waste, thereby improving operational efficiency and minimizing food waste in the dinner buffet service

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between a data-driven work environment, job stress, and employee performance and to identify the conditions that give rise to the productivity paradox in organizations in the era of digital transformation. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analyzing and synthesizing relevant previous research findings. The review process was carried out through the stages of literature identification, screening, feasibility assessment, data extraction, and thematic analysis. The analyzed literature focuses on the data-driven work environment, job stress, technostress, employee performance, and the productivity paradox. The results of the study indicate that a data-driven work environment can improve efficiency, decision-making accuracy, performance transparency, and work process optimization. However, the demands of continuous performance monitoring, information overload, responsiveness to data, and adaptation to technology can increase job stress and potentially decrease employee performance. Organizational support, digital literacy, technological competence, and an adaptive work culture play a significant role in influencing this relationship. Thus, the productivity paradox arises when the use of data and technology to increase productivity actually creates work pressure that has the potential to hinder employee performance and well-being.
