Abstract

This community service activity aims to integrate Internet of Things (IoT) technology into the monitoring system of a Microhydro Power Plant (PLTMH) in Argamukti Village, Majalengka Regency. The village has significant renewable energy potential, but challenges in real-time energy production monitoring have hindered the plant's optimal performance. By implementing an IoT-based monitoring system, the operational efficiency of the PLTMH can be significantly improved. This program includes training in IoT device installation and guidance for local communities in operating and maintaining the system. The results show a 20% increase in energy production efficiency compared to the period before the monitoring system was implemented. Furthermore, the local community is empowered to manage energy resources independently, supporting the establishment of Energy Self-Sufficient Villages. This initiative aligns with government efforts to promote renewable energy usage in rural areas. The IoT technology implementation also opens opportunities for applications in other sectors such as smart farming and water management, which can sustainably enhance the local community's welfare.

Abstract

This Community Partnership Programme (PKM) was implemented to support the empowerment of a group of lobster farmers in Sawarna Village, who face various challenges in managing their farming business. The problems faced by lobster farmer groups in the village are lack of access to stable energy and limited management knowledge, which has an impact on the sustainability of the lobster farming business. The purpose of this service is to improve the knowledge and skills of lobster farmers in business management and adopt renewable energy technology as a solution to limited energy access. The method used in this activity is the Participatory Rural Appraisal approach, which involves farmers actively through socialisation, training, technology application, mentoring, and continuous program evaluation. The results of this service showed an increase in the ability of partners in business management, digital marketing, and the application of renewable energy technology in the form of solar power systems to support cultivation operations. In addition, there was a significant improvement in the quality of management after the training, with participants showing improved financial, marketing, and operational management. The conclusion of this activity is that the application of renewable energy technology and improved management capacity through training and mentoring can successfully support the sustainability of the lobster farming business in Sawarna Village, thus helping farmers to face environmental and economic challenges faced in the long term.

Abstract

Business development strategies play a crucial role in enhancing local economic growth and entrepreneurial potential. This study examines the implementation of Business Identification Number (NIB) registration as a strategic approach to business development in Wonoayu Village. The activity aims to analyze the impact of NIB registration on local businesses, identifying the challenges and opportunities associated with formal business recognition. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study conducted comprehensive surveys, interviews, and document analysis with local entrepreneurs and village officials. The findings reveal that NIB registration significantly contributes to business formalization, providing entrepreneurs with improved access to financial services, government support, and legal protection. Key challenges include limited awareness of registration processes, bureaucratic complexities, and initial registration costs. However, the benefits demonstrate substantial potential for business growth, including enhanced credibility, increased market opportunities, and simplified business operations. The study suggests targeted support mechanisms, including local government guidance, capacity-building workshops, and simplified registration procedures to maximize NIB registration benefits. These findings contribute to understanding the role of formalization in local economic development and provide practical insights for supporting small and medium enterprises in rural contexts. The research highlights the importance of strategic interventions that can transform informal businesses into recognized, sustainable economic entities.

Abstract

Walnuts are a crop of economic value to the people of Maluku. In Larike village, walnuts are only managed for their pulp as a food additive for personal consumption. In addition, walnuts are also sold directly to produce processors who will usually sell them to traders or processors in the island of Java. The processing of walnut meat leaves an environmental problem, namely the shell waste which usually becomes garbage in the environment, while this waste has a hard texture so it is difficult to biodegrade in the environment. To overcome the problem of walnut shell waste, it is necessary to take an innovative step that can add economic value to its utilization. One of them is by making charcoal from walnut shells which can then be used as briquettes which are an alternative energy source (green energy). The solution carried out in this service is to conduct counseling, training, mentoring and product licensing so that the results of the partners can be marketed, so that the proceeds from product sales can meet the goal of increasing the economic level of the partner's family.
