Abstract

Coffee production in Sidomulyo Village, located at the foot of Mount Gumitir, Silo District, Jember Regency, is famous for being very abundant. This condition is very supportive of the increasing needs of coffee drink lovers. However, the taste of ready-to-brewed ground coffee produced by the Sidomulyo Koperasi WANITA is still unable to compete with coffee on the market. This activity aimed to provide training on civet coffee production through the dry coffee bean fermentation method as a primary ingredient. The fermentation process was carried out using a Magnetic Fermentation machine which was the result of research in 2020. The fermentation process training activity was attended by 15 members of the Koperasi WANITA. 50 kg of dry coffee was fermented using a Magnetic Fermenter machine. Dry coffee was soaked first in warm water (temperature around 30 - 400C) for 5 hours. Then it was drained and put in a fermenter box by adjusting the intensity of the ELF magnetic field to around 300 T for 90 minutes. The coffee beans were transferred to buckets and ripened for up to 5 days, then washed and sun-dried for three days, after drying in Roasting and continue grinding. The targeted outputs of this activity included scientific publications in the National Journal of Abdimas with ISSN. The results of this activity had produced fermented coffee beans that had been roasted in the form of roasted coffee beans and ground coffee. Based on the results of the evaluation, the members of the Ketakasi Koperasi already had skills in producing artificial Luwak coffee. This had the potential to develop superior products for Sidomulyo civet coffee.

Abstract

Performing the pilgrimage for Muslims is obligatory for those who can afford it. This pilgrimage is included in the fifth pillar of Islam. The category of being able means being financially able to bear all costs and being physically and mentally healthy. For the Indonesian nation, whose population is predominantly Muslim, the pilgrimage has become a part of people's lives. Because of that, various ways and methods have been developed to be able to go for Hajj from the early days of Islam until the colonial era until independence. All of that is formed and patterned along with economic growth and the level of community welfare so that Hajj has become part of the culture of the community. Even the title of Hajj has been pinned into a separate prestige in the midst of society. To be able to realize the dream of going for Hajj, various ways are taken, starting from selling assets, working hard, and saving for years and even a lifetime for people with low incomes. For the rich, high-income groups, Hajj is not a problem and can be done many times. But for ordinary citizens with middle to lower-income, Hajj is something of a luxury, something that is luxurious and can be risked for a lifetime to make it happen. Rules limiting the maximum age of 65 years for pilgrims who can go to destroy all expectations of society who make the pilgrimage as a purpose of life. In fact, many of them think that dying in Mecca is happiness and even jihad because they are worshiping. So, they do not question all the risks of taking the pilgrimage. The Government should respond to this aspiration by submitting a lobby to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with rational considerations and prioritizing the benefit. This Policy Paper begins by explaining the general conditions of the Hajj in Bima City, data, and the number of queues for departing pilgrims, then identification of problems and their impact on the conditions of the religious life of the community.

Abstract

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has encouraged people to adopt a healthier lifestyle and at the same time carry out a number of environmentally friendly activities such as urban farming. Besides helping to guarantee the food security aspect of urban areas, urban farming also helps create green open spaces. Even so, urban farming also has a negative impact, if it is carried out with a system that is not wise and effective, such as it can cause increased noise pollution, air pollution, flooding, water wastage, and even potential as a breeding ground for mosquitoes that transmit various diseases. Therefore, it is necessary to educate the public about various aspects needed in the implementation of urban farming, one of which is how to implement Integrated Pest Management (Known as PHT). The method used in this activity is the Action Research Method by applying the Participatory Action Program approach from the participants through discussion, and group work in all activities. The results of group discussions at KWT Bunga Matahari, and other urban farming groups in Kekalek and in Ampenan show that the majority of urban farming communities are very interested in developing various types of fresh vegetables and fruit in their yards as part of the Department of Sustainable Food Home Areas (KRPL) program. Food Security of the Province of NTB and the City of Mataram. Group discussions also revealed that group members became more active during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially during WFH in the early days of the pandemic. They feel the benefits of farming activities in the yard because it really helps meet the family's food needs, especially fresh vegetables. However, most of the target group members are still not familiar with environmentally friendly cultivation techniques, especially in terms of integrated pest management. Although in fact, they are not aware that there are several activities that include PHT, such as monitoring, planting ornamental plants (refugia) around vegetable crops, and mechanical control by directly killing pests that attack their plants

Abstract

Garbage is used goods obtained from human and natural activities that have no economic value. Until now, waste is still an unresolved problem, one of which is in Indonesia. Patchwork is the remnants of cutouts from fabric-making or convection businesses. The abundance of patchwork potential is not proportional to the processing carried out. The tailors or workers on average do not know the importance of patchwork processing so the patchwork is discarded without being reprocessed. This problem also occurs in Bandung Village. The high level of use of plastic waste can be minimized by utilizing the potential of patchwork through shopping bags made of patchwork (Patchwork Bag). The purpose of this study was to provide education about the importance of making shopping bags made of patchwork and to improve the skills of women in making shopping bags made of patchwork. The research method used is a qualitative description. The results showed that the women in Bandung Village were very happy with the training activities to make shopping bags made of patchwork. This can provide additional insight, improve skills, and can be used for entrepreneurs.
