Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between work engagement and organizational citizenship behavior among government employees through organizational commitment as a mediating variable. The problem identified in this study is the low level of work engagement among some employees who admit to feeling bored with their work. In addition, employee citizenship behavior is not yet optimal, employees are less open to existing working conditions and facilities, communication between employees is still often not smooth, and cooperation is not yet consistent when colleagues are absent. The present study employs a quantitative approach, utilising purposive sampling of 114 employees with a minimum service duration of 1 year. The data were collected through the administration of an online questionnaire and subsequently analysed using SPSS with the PROCESS macro for mediation analysis. The findings indicate that organisational commitment serves as a complete mediator in the relationship between work engagement and organisational citizenship behaviour, as evidenced by an indirect effect size of 0.38 (95% CI [0.16, 0.75]). This finding suggests that work engagement alone is insufficient to generate organizational citizenship behavior; instead, strong emotional commitment to the organization is a necessary condition for translating work engagement into extra-role behavior in the public sector context.

Abstract

Learning concentration is crucial in early childhood education, yet many children aged 5–6 years struggle to maintain focus, which hampers learning outcomes. This study aimed to enhance learning concentration through the application of the soft-spoken technique at PAUD Mawar Ciampel. Using Classroom Action Research (CAR) with qualitative and quantitative approaches, the study involved 13 Group B children (aged 5–6 years) and was conducted over two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The soft-spoken technique was implemented to foster a calm, conducive environment, allowing children to better attend to teacher instructions. Data collection included participatory observation, photo and video documentation, and both quantitative (percentage concentration improvement) and qualitative (behavioral changes) analyses. Findings revealed a significant improvement in concentration: from 66% in the first cycle to 85% in the second. Positive changes were also noted in listening to instructions, task persistence, and maintaining calm during lessons. Most children reached the “Developing as Expected” (BSH) category based on PAUD assessment standards. These results indicate that the soft-spoken technique effectively improves learning concentration among children aged 5–6 years. The study suggests that educators incorporate this technique consistently and integrate it with complementary strategies to optimize outcomes in early childhood education.

Abstract

The low level of fine motor skills of children in group B.2 at PAUD Assalafiyah Banyusari. This situation is evident from their inability to draw and colour, cut according to patterns, lack of creativity, lack of focus, and lack of accuracy in doing assignments so that, their level of fine motor achiement is 30% and is in the category of not yet developed. This study aims to improve the fine motor skills of children in group B.2 at PAUD Assalafiyah Banyusari through ecoprint activities. Classroom action research is the method used in the study, following the Kemmis and McTaggart model which includes two cycles. Each cycle includes the stages of planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through direct observation, documentation of student ctivities, and interviews with teachers. Data were analyzedusing qualitative descriptive analysis. The initial results of the study stated that their fine motor skills were at 30%, but after the action in cycle ll, the skills increased by 50%, then in the cycle ll by 70%. The results of the study showed that ecoprint activitiescan improve children’s fine motor skills, which are characterizedby an increase in children’s abilities in carrying out activities that require hand-eye coordination, controlling hand movements while holding ecoprint equipments, and responding to patterns and shapes. Therefore, this study concluded that ecoprint activities can be an alternative to improve the fine motor skillsof children in group B.2 at PAUD Assalafiyah Banyusari.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital technology has transformed consumption patterns, particularly in the financial sector through digital credit or Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL). While digital credit improves financial inclusion, it also heightens risks of over-indebtedness, especially when influenced by Fear of Missing Out (FOMO). This study examines the impact of FOMO on digital credit usage and its implications for household economic sustainability in Deli Serdang Regency. A quantitative survey was conducted with 400 purposively selected respondents, and the data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results demonstrate that FOMO significantly increases digital credit usage, while both FOMO and digital credit exert negative effects on economic sustainability. The model explains 42.5% of the variance in digital credit and 56.3% in economic sustainability. Mediation analysis further confirms that digital credit partially mediates the relationship between FOMO and economic sustainability. The findings highlight the need for financial literacy initiatives, transparent credit practices, and responsible borrowing to mitigate the adverse effects of FOMO and promote household economic resilience.

Abstract

Women in the formal workforce often face a double bind dilemma, where the need to demonstrate competence conflicts with expectations of femininity. This study analyzes the influence of the likeability penalty and the competence–attractiveness paradox on promotion opportunities and work engagement among female employees in Medan. A quantitative explanatory design was applied, with data from 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling. A five-point Likert scale questionnaire was used, and data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). Results indicate that the likeability penalty negatively affects promotion opportunities (β = -0.296; p = 0.008), while the competence–attractiveness paradox has a dual effect: positively influencing perceived competence (β = 0.318; p = 0.004) but negatively affecting promotion opportunities (β = -0.211; p = 0.029). Promotion opportunities significantly improve work engagement (β = 0.427; p = 0.000). These findings underscore persistent gender bias, aligning with Role Congruity Theory, and highlight the need for competence-based promotion policies.

Abstract

The digital era presents new challenges for working mothers in the formal sector, who face the complexity of multiple roles. On the one hand, they are required to demonstrate high performance and adapt to technology-based work systems, while on the other hand, family responsibilities remain a top priority. This situation often leads to digital role conflict, cyber fatigue, and excessive workload, which ultimately have a negative impact on work engagement. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital role conflict, cyber fatigue, workload, and boundary management skills on work engagement, with emotional agility as a moderating variable. The research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. The sample consisted of 200 working mothers in the formal sector in Medan City, selected using the Lemeshow formula. Data were collected through a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that digital role conflict (β = -0.31; p = 0.004), cyber fatigue (β = -0.27; p = 0.012), and workload (β = -0.22; p = 0.028) have a significant negative effect on work engagement. In contrast, boundary management skills (β = 0.37; p = 0.000) and emotional agility (β = 0.30; p = 0.001) show a significant positive effect. Moreover, emotional agility was found to play a moderating role that strengthens work engagement amid digital pressures.

Abstract

This study examines how organizational justice, cultural sensitivity, and information transparency influence the positive work attitudes of persons with disabilities, with stigma perception incorporated as a moderating variable. The research aims to deepen the understanding of how organizational and social dynamics interact in shaping inclusive employment practices. Using quantitative explanatory design, the study employs covariance-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Data were obtained from 100 respondents with physical disabilities working in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), private companies, social service organizations, government institutions, and educational settings across Medan, Binjai, and Langkat. A five-point Likert scale questionnaire was administered, and the data were analyzed in R Studio using the lavaan, semPlot, and psych packages. Instrument validity and reliability were assessed through CFA, AVE, CR, and HTMT, while model fit was evaluated using CFI, TLI, RMSEA, and SRMR. The findings reveal that organizational justice (β = 0.62, p < 0.01), cultural sensitivity (β = 0.48, p < 0.05), and information transparency (β = 0.55, p < 0.01) each have a significant positive effect on positive work attitudes. The moderation analysis shows that stigma perception weakens the influence of organizational justice and cultural sensitivity yet strengthens the effect of information transparency. Descriptive results further indicate that although stigma remains a substantial barrier, respondents still demonstrate generally high levels of positive work attitudes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of social studies learning in preventing sexual violence and the role of social studies teachers in improving students' understanding of sexual violence prevention at SMP Negeri 5 Semarang. The background of this study is based on the high number of cases of sexual violence in educational environments, especially among adolescents or junior high school students. The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques namely through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that social studies learning has strategic potential in improving students' understanding of sexual violence prevention, especially through social interaction material that discusses social contact, communication, and boundaries in interactions. Social studies teachers play an important role in integrating social studies material with sexual violence prevention material to ensure its relevance. The integration of the material includes the creation of RPM (in-depth learning plan) modules, material preparation, creation of learning media, and implementation of learning in the classroom. The results of sexual violence prevention education show that students who initially did not understand sexual violence, now understand sexual violence and its prevention.

Abstract

The rapid digital transformation requires organizations to be more adaptive, innovative, and able to deal with uncertainty. In this case, Agile Leadership is an important approach that supports business sustainability, improves organizational performance, and strengthens collaboration and continuous learning within teams. This study uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to identify trends, theoretical frameworks, and research gaps related to the influence of Agile Leadership on team performance in various sectors. The results of the review show that agile leadership plays a role in building an adaptive organizational culture, strengthening communication, and encouraging innovation as the main factors in improving team performance in the era of digital transformation. This research confirms that the effectiveness of Agile Leadership is highly dependent on the organizational context, such as industry characteristics, work culture, and level of digital capabilities. A collaborative and fast-changing work environment can amplify the impact of agile leadership on team performance, while hierarchical structures and low digital capabilities hinder its implementation. Theoretically, the relationship between Agile Leadership and team performance is explained through the perspective of Dynamic Capabilities, Resource-Based View, and the principles of servant and inclusive leadership. The study concludes that Agile Leadership is a key factor in increasing organizational resilience and ensuring the relevance of companies in the complex and uncertain era of VUCA.
