Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the characters and characterization in Tenderlova's novel Colors in The Sky, and to implement them in the form of teaching modules for Indonesian language learning in high school. Using qualitative methods with a structuralist approach and hermeneutic reading, this study focuses on how the author describes the characters. The results of the study show that the author uses two main techniques: analytical (direct), where characters are explicitly described through their names, appearances, and the author's narration; and dramatic (indirect), which is depicted through dialogue, actions, and interactions between characters. This analysis was applied to the main characters and additional characters who played active roles. In addition, the findings from this study were developed into teaching modules for Indonesian language lessons for 12th-grade students, designed using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model and integrating the values of the Pancasila Student Profile. The conclusion of this study confirms that the novel is effective as a relevant and contextual medium for learning literature

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of packaging design and brand image on purchasing decisions of consumers at Osamu Coffee Pontianak. This study involves three variables, namely packaging design (X1), brand image (X2), and purchasing decision (Y). The research method used is a quantitative approach with a causal associative design to examine cause-and-effect relationships. The data source consists of 93 consumers of Osamu Coffee Pontianak, and data were collected through the distribution of structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 26. The results indicate that packaging design does not have a significant effect on purchasing decisions, as shown by a significance value of 0.189 > 0.05 and a t-count of 1.324 < t-table of 1.986. Meanwhile, brand image has a positive and significant influence on purchasing decisions, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a t-count of 3.835 > t-table of 1.986. Simultaneously, packaging design and brand image have a significant influence on purchasing decisions, indicated by a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and an f-count of 24.356 > f-table of 3.10.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss learning environment management and its impact on elementary school students' behavior. The method used is SLR (Systematic Literature Review) by reviewing literature from Google Scholar over the past ten years (2015-2025) and analyzing six articles as the core of the discussion. The results of this study indicate that learning environment management needs to be considered by teachers and parents so that students can achieve positive changes in their learning outcomes. The learning environment affects children's learning outcomes, making it an important factor in their learning success. Without role models or the involvement of various parties, such as parents and teachers, this can create obstacles in managing the learning environment, which will also affect the behavior of elementary school children. Aspects such as habitual behavior patterns in the family will also influence children's attitudes and character. Therefore, teachers and families have an important role in managing a safe and comfortable learning environment that can shape good behavior in elementary school students in preparation for their future.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effect of implementing the problem based learning model on the science and science learning outcomes for class V at SD Negeri 08 West Potianak. The method used in this research is an experimental method with a quasi experimental design. The population in this study was all class V students. Sampling used nonprobability sampling techniques and samples were obtained from class VA as the control class and class VB as the experimental class. The data collection technique uses measurement techniques and the data collection instrument used is a multiple choice test. Based on data analysis, the average posttest score for the experimental class = 77.5 and the average posttest score for the control class = 73.9. The results of hypothesis testing using the t-test with the polled variance formula obtained tcount of 1.481 and ttable (α = 5% and dk = 31 + 30 – 2 = 59) of 0.002, which means tcount > ttable, then Ha is accepted. Based on the results of the effect size (ES) calculation, the ES value = 0.42. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model has a moderate influence on the science and science learning outcomes of class V students at SD Negeri 08 West Pontianak by 42%.

Abstract

This study aims to produce teaching materials based on the local wisdom of Pontianak City for the IPAS subject, specifically Social Studies, on the topic Indonesiaku Kaya Budaya for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 14 Pontianak Selatan. These materials are designed to support the learning process in the Merdeka Curriculum. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) by adapting the 4-D model. The research sample includes two validators: the material aspect received an average score of 3.35 with the criteria of “Highly Feasible”, for the developed teaching materials based on the local wisdom of Pontianak City. These results are supported by development trial activities, where teacher responses obtanined a percentage score of 100% with the criteria of “Excellent”, small-scale student responses reached 80.5% with the criteria of “Excellent”, and large-scale student responses reached 79.98% with the criteria of “Excellent”. The findings indicate that fourth-grade students are interested in and understand the teaching materials based on the local wisdom of Pontianak City, as they are designed to align with the local culture of Pontianak. Therefore, it can be conclude that the teaching materials based on the local wisdom of Pontianak City are suitable for use in he learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of individual counseling using the Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) approach in reducing aggressive behavior among foster children at LPKA Class II Sungai Raya. The research method employed is an experimental design with a Pre-test-Post-test One Group approach. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique. namely 4 children out of 20 foster children who had high levels of aggression. Before being given counseling services, the average aggressive behavior score of children was 185. After being given counseling using the REBT approach, the score decreased to 140.75. Abstract

This Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) aimed to provide education on the importance of maintaining important documents and personal belongings for students at UPT SD Negeri 69 Gresik. The main issue underlying this activity was the low level of students’ understanding regarding the types of important documents and proper ways to store personal belongings safely and neatly. The activity was conducted using an interactive and educational approach, including simple material delivery, light discussions, and the use of a document storage teaching aid as a learning medium. The program was implemented on January 31, 2026, involving elementary school students as the main participants. The results showed that students responded positively and enthusiastically to the activity and demonstrated an improved understanding of the importance of maintaining important documents and personal belongings from an early age. This program is expected to foster positive habits and a sense of responsibility among students toward their personal belongings both at school and at home.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the representation of women's self-image in the film Home Sweet Loan using a feminist theory approach. The development of a teaching module serves as a learning medium. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative research form. The source of this research is the film Home Sweet Loan. The theory used to address this research is feminist theory. The data collection technique uses a documentary study technique by selecting scenes from the research object. The results of this research reveal five aspects of women's self image: physical, psychological, family, social, and domestic. The findings include a total of 19 data points: physical self-image of women (7 data) is shown through attractive visuals and neat appearance; psychological self-image (12 data) is portrayed through resilience in facing conflicts and patience under pressure. The implementation of Indonesian language learning used in this research is the Teaching Module for Reviewing Fictional Works for Grade VIII, second semester of Junior High School (SMP) in the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study investigated the effect of implementing the SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) technique assisted by Prezi media on students’ reading comprehension of narrative texts. The research was conducted in Class XB of MAS Darussalam Mempawah during the 2025/2026 academic year with a sample of 29 students, who were selected through cluster random sampling. The study used a pre experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test. The instrument was a set of 30 multiple-choice items, which were tested for validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminative power. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a normality test, and hypothesis testing through the Paired Sample t-test. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ reading comprehension. The mean pre-test score was 54.97, which increased to 81.66 in the post-test, showing a difference of 26.69 points. The normality test confirmed that the data were normally distributed, and the paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), demonstrating a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. These findings demonstrated that the SQ3R technique, when supported by Prezi as a visual aid, was effective in enhancing students’ comprehension of narrative texts.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the Kapuas Pontianak Waterfront tourist area. The objectives of this study were to determine: 1) Community participation in the Kapuas Pontianak waterfront, 2) determine the role of MSMEs as economic drivers in the Kapuas Pontianak waterfront. The research approach used was a qualitative approach with a case study research type. Data collection used observation techniques, interviews in determining informants so that 14 informants were obtained, divided into 1 POKDARWIS person, 1 village person, 6 MSME traders, and 6 visitors, and used several documents relevant to the research. The results of the study found that community participation in the development of the Kapuas Pontianak waterfront tourist area. Through open policies, the community is given the opportunity to open micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which play a role in increasing community income and absorbing labor. However, implementation in the field shows various challenges, such as lack of management, informal licensing, and lack of active involvement of the community and managers in decision-making. The results of the study indicate that the tourism sector has had a positive economic impact, but tourism development has not run optimally. Community empowerment strategies and institutional strengthening are needed to realize sustainable tourism.
