Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of teaching writing narrative text using EGRA technique. To achieve the objectives of the research, a pre experimental study was conducted. This research was conducted at SMA St. Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak with the sample of the research was the eleventh grade of science students in academic year 2017/2018 which was chosen by using cluster random sampling technique. The findings of the research obviously showed that there was a significant difference of the students’ achievement before and after EGRA technique was applied, and that the use of the technique had a highly significant effect on the students’ writing shown by the students’ improved scores. To sum up, the present research findings proved that the use of EGRA technique is highly effective in teaching writing to the eleventh grade of science students of SMA St. Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak in academic year 2017/2018. Keywords: EGRA Technique, Teaching Writing, Writing Narrative Text.

Abstract

                                                 Abstract  The aim of this research is to find out the influence of situational leadership of headmasters, working environments, and prestige motivation upon teachers?s performance of the state vocational high school of Sintang Regency, partially or altogether. He uses qualitative approach with ex post facto design. He applies his reseach on seven Vocational High Schools on Sintang Regency, they are SMKN 1 Sintang, SMKN 1 Dedai, SMKN 1Sepauk, SMKN 1 Kelam Permai, SMKN 1 Kayan Hilir, SMKN 1 Ketungau Tengah, SMKN 1 Serawai. He has 136 teachers as samples. He uses Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. He finds out that firstly: Situational leadership of headmasters has no significant influence upon teachers?s performance of the state vocational high school of Sintang regency with 0,069>0,05significant value. Secondly, working environments has significant influence upon teachers?s performance of the state vocational high school of Sintang regency with 0,001<0.005 significant value. Third, Prestige motivation has significant influence upon teachers?s performance of the state vocational high school of Sintang regency with 0.000<0.05 significant value. Fourth, Situational leadership of headmasters has no significant influence upon prestige motivation of the state vocational high school of Sintang regency with 0.257 > 0.05 significant value. Abstract

 AbstractThis research aims to explain and elaborate the result of silence analysis and the cause in Final Debate of 2017 Regional Head Election of Special Capital Region of Jakarta. Method used was descriptive in form of qualitative. Data sources were utterances produced by the two candidate pairs of regional head of Special Capital Area of Jakarta in 2017 who did a debate in a video along with the people involved. The research data was the silence occurred in the Final debate of 2017 Regional Head Election of Special Capital Region of Jakarta. Technique of collecting data used were exposure technique and context analysis. The tool of collecting data was video record. Data analysis method used was SBLC technique ? a listening method. Based on the result, there were 80 times of silence in debate. The type of silence were content silence, quiet silence, progressive repetition, false starts, elongation, refinement, and silence combination. The silence are occurred in the beginning, middle, and ending or even the combination of these three in a sentence. Some of the cause of silence are circumspection, demanding more time, repetition, false starts, hesitation, nervousness, and refinement. This research can contribute to the learning especially in speaking aspects.                Key Words: silence, type, distribution, the cause, debate

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to evaluate and provide information about the quality of English listening test items. Evaluation a set of test items are to measure the content validity, the reliability, the level of difficulty, the discriminating power, and the distracters, for the first semester of grade twelve students in SMK N 5 Pontianak in Academic year 2013/2014. This research is an evaluation to a set of teacher-made test that consist of 15 multiple-choice test items. There are 31 students’ in one class as the participant of the test. The data of this research were collected using a documentary technique. The data were taken from the result of an English listening summative test, English listening test paper, answer key, students’ answer sheets, listening script, and test item specification. The finding of this research is the content of all of the test items is valid based on the test item specifications. However, based on the criteria used to classify the degree of reliability, the items are not reliable; the score is only 0.183 (negligible). Although the content of all of the test items is valid, the test items cannot be used continuously because it is not reliable, and the test items need several revision. Furthermore, the mean of items difficulty level has fulfilled the requirements of good test items in term of difficulty level with 0.688 (Moderate). The mean of discriminating power is 0.256 (moderate) that means it has fulfilled the requirements of good test items. There were 26 distracters that should be revised. Besides, there are 4 good test items which still can be used as reference for the next English summative test. There are 3 test items that should be discarded or changed by the other test items and 8 test items should be revised if the teacher wants to use the test for the next English summative test. Keywords: Item Analysis, Listening Test Items

Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted to determine  whether there was a difference in self-confidence and understanding of the concept of tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tekarang who were given immediate feedback and the student who were given conventional methods on stoichiometric material, and also to know how much immediate feedback influences the conceptual understanding of  tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Tekarang on stoichiometry material. The research method used was quasy-experiment, with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sampling used was saturated sampling techniques with  class X MIA 2 as experimental class students and class X MIA 1 as control class students. Self-confidence questionnaire, understanding concept test, observation sheet and interview guidelines were used to collect data. The results analysis of  final questionnaire and posttest data  using  SPSS 17 for windows with the Mann Whitney U-test obtained Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) values of 0.004 and 0.000 respectively, this indicated that there was a difference self-confidence and understanding of concepts of the students who were given immediate feedback and the student who were given conventional methods on stoichiometric material. The amount of influence given by immediate feedback on students conceptual understanding  was 70.7% with a high category. Keywords: Immediate Feedback, Self-Confidence, Conceptual Understanding,   Stoichiometry.

Abstract

Abstrak: Matematika wajib diajarkan kepada anak usia dini. Namun kenyataannya, kemampuan berhitung siswa masih rendah. Sehingga diperlukan cara untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung siswa, salah satunya dengan teknik Jarimatika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan bahwa teknik Jarimatika benar-benar dapat meningkatkan nilai hasil belajar siswa. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Setiap Siklus meliputi kegiatan Perencanaan, Pelaksanaan, Pengamatan, dan Refleksi. Pada Siklus I digunakan pembelajaran dengan teknik Jarimatika, materi operasi hitung tentang perkalian sampai 20, dan pada Siklus II dilanjutkan dengan pembelajaran teknik Jarimatika tentang materi operasi hitung perkalian 21-30. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: guru mampu merancang RPP dan mampu melaksanakan pembelajaran dengan teknik Jarimatika tentang materi operasi hitung dengan baik setelah mengacu pada Standar Kompetensi dan Kompetensi Dasar dalam Silabus. Terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar siswa, setelah diadakan pembelajaran dengan teknik Jarimatika, yaitu pada Siklus I nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 52, dan pada siklus II nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa meningkat menjadi 66.   Kata Kunci: Matematika, Teknik Jarimatika     Abstract: Mathematics shall be taught to early childhood. But in reality, the numeracy skills of students is still low. So, we need a way to improve it, one of them is with Fingerithmetic techniques. This study aims to prove that the Fingerithmetic technique can actually increase the value of student learning outcomes. This research is a form of classroom action research. Each cycle includes Planning, Implementation, Observations and Reflections. In the first cycle of learning techniques used Fingerithmetic with Multiplication operation up to 20, and in Cycle II, still followed by learning technique of the Fingerithmetic about multiplication operation 21-30. The results showed that: The teacher is able to design the Lesson plan and able to carry out the study with the Fingerithmetic technique operations well after referring to the Competency Standards and Basic Competence in the Syllabus. There is an increase in student learning outcomes, after learning the Fingerithmetic technique held, on the first cycle of learning method, the average value of student learning outcomes at 52, and in the second cycle, the average value of student learning outcomes increased to 66.   Keywords: Learning Outcomes, Mathematics, and Fingerithmetic Technique

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to know and describe mathematic creative thinking comprehension reviewed from student’s self-concept on two-dimensional figure matter at class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya. Research method used is descriptive in the form survey research. Sample of this research is class VIII with 31 students. The data obtained is self-concept questionnaire result and student’s answer sheet to questions related to two-dimensional matter. The research result shows that student’s mathematic creative thinking comprehension with high self-concept categorized very creative (25%) and less creative (75%); student’s mathematic creative thinking comprehension with average self-concept categorized creative (62,5%), less creative (33,33%) and not creative (4,17%); and student’s mathematic creative thinking comprehension with low self-concept categorized less creative (100%).Keyword:  mathematic creative thinking comprehension, self-concept

Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted on the eleventh grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak in academic year 2016/2017. The research was conducted to improve students’ speaking ability in giving arguments. The method of this research was classroom action research. The tools of data collecting were observation sheet and field note. This research was done in three cycles. The result of data analysis showed that the students’ speaking ability were improved. “I SOLVE” technique could reduce students’ pauses and hesitation, improved students’ appropriate use of words to express opinion, improved students’ correct use of present tense or future tense, and improved students’ interaction in argumentative speaking. Those improvements also supported by the students’ speaking ability rate. In the first cycle their average score was 45.4, 71.5 in the second cycle, and improved to 83.6 in the third cycle. Thus, it can be concluded that “I SOLVE” technique did improve students’ speaking ability in giving arguments. Teachers could use “I SOLVE” technique as an alternative technique in teaching speaking. However, they should manage the time carefully so that they will have enough time to evaluate and give feedback to the students’ speaking. Keywords: Students’ Speaking Ability, Argumentative Speaking, “I SOLVE” Technique

Abstract

Abstrak : Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan media kartu dalam pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I/b Sekolah Dasar Negeri No. 06 Peniti Kecamatan Sekadau Hilir. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode tindakan kelas. terdapat peningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Berdasarkan pengamatan siklus I hasil belajar siswa sudah mengalami peningkatan dari 6,50 meningkat menjadi 6,78, kemudian dari 7,40 meningkat menjadi 7,44 pada siklus II. Dari 25 orang siswa yang memperoleh nilai KKM di atas  60 sebanyak 13 orang siswa atau sama dengan  72,15 %, 2 orang siswa memperoleh nilai sesuai KKM atau 11,1 %,sedangkan 3 orang siswa atau 16,65 % masih dibawah KKM. Dengan demikian skor rata-rata kemampuan membaca siswa pada siklus I dan II dikategorikan sedang.   Kata Kunci : Kemampuan Membaca, Media Kartu Huruf   Abstract : The purpose of this study is to describe the use of the media card in the learning that can improve the ability to read the beginning No. 6 Peniti Kecamatan Sekadau Hilir. The methode used is a method of increasing the class.there is a increase in the quality of learning. Based on observations of the cycle I the results of student learning experlence an increase of 6,50 increased to 6,78, then 7,40 increased to 7,40 on cycle II of the 25 student who scored above 60 KKM as many as 13 people student or equal to 72,15%, 2 student acquire appropriate KKM or11,1%, while 3 student or 16,65% still under KKM. Thus an average score of student ?reading ability in cycles I and II crassed medium.   Keywords: Literacy , Media Card Letter

Abstract

AbstractThis study entitled " Analysis the Implementation of  Keling Kumang Credit Union Scholarship Program at Senior High School. The main problem of this research was the implementation of the Keling Kumang Credit Union Scholarship Program at Senior High School. The aim of this study was to know the forms, activities and results of the implementation of Keling Kumang Credit Union scholarship program for high school.The method of this research was descriptive and using qualitative approach.The tools of data collection were done by observation, interview, and documentation. The source of data used the primary data and the secondary data. Processing and data analysis technique were done through three stages, that were reduction data,presentation data, and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that (1) the implementation of  Keling Kumang Credit Union scholarship program to the members were educational assistance and supply the product saving and loan in order to make it easier for members to prepare for the next education (2)the activities carried out by administrators at senior high school members were  socialization and training,the purpose of this these activities were to gain knowledge and experience (3) the result of the implementation of scholarship program for senior high school  members was the various activities that held by the Keling Kumang Credit Union can be seen through the number of members both the amount of deposits and the number of loans, and the number of members who received the scholarship.  Keywords: Implementation, Scholarship, The Members of Credit Union.
