Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to determine the effect : (1) principal training program on the principal performance at elementary school in Landak Disctrict (2) the achievement motivation on the principal performance at elementary school in Landak Disctrict (3) both of principal training program and achievement motivation on the principal performance at elementary school in Landak Disctrict. This research is associative research of causal type with quantitative research approach.The population in this research are 32 principals at elementary school in Landak District. Data resource that used in this research are (a) principals (b) teacher?s assessment (c) secondary data from the result of principal training program, which is a score list of training participants that obtained from LPMP West Borneo. The instruments used in this research is the form of likert scale questionnaires.Hypotesis testing performed in this study using multiple regression techniques. The result showed that: (1) there is an influence of the result of principal training program (X1) on principal performance (Y) of 65.3%; (2) there is an influence of achievement motivation (X2) on principal performance (Y) of 26.6%; and (3) there is an influence of both the result of principal training program (X1) and achievement motivation (X2) on principal performance (Y) of 71.8%. The conclusion of this research is the result of principal training program and achievement motivation have positive and significant effect on principal performance at elementary school in Landak District. More higher the result of principal training program and achievement motivation, more higher the performance that principal?s had. Abstract

Abstract The purposes of this research were to know the difference between the critical thinking skills of the students of class XI MAN 1 Pontianak which is taught using predict-observe-explain (POE) learning and is taught using conventional model and know the influence of predict-observe-explain (POE) learning model on students' critical thinking skills on colloid subjects. The form of this research is Quasi Experiment with research design "Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design". The sample of this research is the students of class XI IPA 1 as the experimental class and XI IPA 2 as the control class. The measurement technique was used is technique of data collection.. The data collecting tool of this research is critical thinking skills test in the form of essay. Statistical test result using U Mann-Whitney test with α = 0,05 obtained value Z = -4,713 with Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 located at the acceptance area. This shows that there is a significant difference between the critical thinking skills  of the students of class XI IPA MAN 1 Pontianak taught using predict-observe-explain (POE) learning and taught using conventional model on colloid subjects. The effect of POE learning model obtained percentage of 30,23 % calculated using effect size.  Keywords: POE Model, Critical Thinking Skills, Colloid

Abstract

AbstractThe  problem  in  this  research "How  is  the influence  of  the  use  of  language  game method  on  language  skills  to free poetry  writing  skills  at  Pontianak  West  Elementary School?". The  purpose of  the study to analyze how high the influence of the use of language game  methods on student learning outcomes on learning  Indonesian class V Elementary School Pontianak West.The method used is experimental method, following quasi-experimental research, experimental design of  Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Research  sample  was  chosen randomly, with lottery, obtained class V A (control class) and class V B (experiment class) SDN 54 Pontianak Barat. Data collecting tool in the form of test result learners learners.Based  on  the  average  statistical  calculation  of  post-test  result  of  experimental class  of  77,25, the  mean  of  post-test  result  of  control  class 72,20, t count  equal  to  0,5623 and  t table  (a = 5% and dk = 24 + 25 - 2 = 47) of 1.6794, means  t_arithmetic <t­_table, then  Ha accepted. So, it  is  concluded  that  there  is  influence  of  the  use  of  language  game method in learning Indonesia  language  toward  the  learning  outcomes of  the  students  of  grade  V.  Keywords: Pengaruh, metode permainan, keterampilan menulis, puisi bebas.

Abstract

AbstractThis research is motivated by the researchers' interest in the character and development of character in the main characters of the novel Gelombang. The purpose of this research is to describe the development of the character of the main character in the novel Gelombang by Dewi Lestari. This study uses a descriptive method, in the form of qualitative, with a literary psychology approach. Based on data analysis, the main character has positive and negative characters. Positive characteristics include smart, diligent reading, clever foreign language, ambitious, hardworking, honest, and detailed. Negative characteristics include cowardice, fear of sleep, resignation, panic, surprise, and confusion. The character development of the main characters includes: normal being afraid of sleep; clever to be multilingual; dare to take action; and fear of sleeping to be brave to face sleep. Alfa figures are dynamic figures. This novel is very appropriate to be used as material for learning Indonesian language and literature because the contents of this novel can train students to understand the intrinsic elements presented by the author in his work. Keywords: Character Development, Novel.

Abstract

 AbstractConceptual understanding of mathematic and mathematical connections became an important focus in the curriculum of mathematics. The population in this research were all students of IX SMP N 10 Pontianak, and the sample of the research was class IX D which selected by sampling. The form of research used was pre-experimental design with one group pre test-post test design. This research desig was devided into three phases, namely preparation phase, implementation phase, and data processing phase. Data collection techniques which used were test and non-test, the data have been obtained were analyzed by descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. Generally, students? conceptual understanding and mathematical connection ability by using constuctivist approach learning has improved. Students? mathematical conceptual understanding at the begining belongs to medium category which percentage of 68.04%. This, students? mathematical connection ability at the begining before using constructivist approach belongs to low cateogry which was only 28,81%.The learning process was implented well, which was accordance with the lesson plan, and the results fell into a very good category. Students? mathematical conceptual understanding after learning process was categorized high which the percentage score of 87,78%. Meanwhile, students? mathematical connection ability after learning was categorized as high as 77.14%.Keywords: mathematical conceptual, mathematical connection, constructivist,                  mathematical knowledge.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to determine the feasibility of leaflet media on biodiversity material in class X SMA from the result of morphology, nutrient content and fruit fiber of dadamuk (Microcos latifolia Burret), kariampuk (Sandoricum borneense Miq.) and menjalin (Salacia fruticosa Wall.). This research was descriptive method using purposive sampling technique. Made leaflet followed by validation carried out in  two stages, namely instrument validation and media with three aspects (content, language and construction). Consisting and criteria leaflet validated by five validators,two lecturers of Biology Education FKIP Tanjungpura University and three Biology teachers one subject in Pontianak City and two in Bengkayang District. Data a validation was analyzed using of Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and Content Validity Index (CVI) formulas. Leaflet validation result obtained the value of CVR and CVI was achieved a value of 0.95. Therefore the leaflet was valid and feasible to used as a learning media on biodiversity material in high school.Keywords: Leaflet, Biodiversity, Dadamuk, Kariampuk, Menjalin.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to analyze the effect of using manipulative media on the ability of mathematical representation of students in flat wake symmetry material in class V Pontianak City 66 State Elementary School. The method used is the experimental method, a quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The population and sample in this study were all fifth grade students of Pontianak City 66 State Elementary School. The data collection tool used in the form of an Essay test consisted of 5 questions. Based on data analysis, the average post-test results of the experimental class were 82.63 while the average post-test results of the control class were 59.15. The results of the t test are obtained tcount 9.0298 and t table α = 5% (with dk = 33 + 32 - 2 = 63) of 1.9990, which means tcount (9.1031)> t table (1.9990), then the hypothesis alternative (Ha) is accepted. From the results of the calculation of the effect size (ES) ES obtained was 2.5 (high criteria). It can be concluded that manipulative media have a good influence on the mathematical representation ability of students in class V of Pontianak City 66 State Elementary School. Keywords: Flat Symmetry, Manipulative Media, Mathematical Representation Ability.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to improve student learning outcomes using the Numbered Heads Together type cooperative model in the learning of Social Sciences in class V SDS Islamiyah Southeast Pontianak. This research uses descriptive method with class action research (CAR) and is collaborative. Data collection techniques used are direct observation and measurement. The data analysis technique used is to use an average calculation formula. This study was carried out in 3 cycles with results 1) the average ability of the teacher to plan learning, namely as follows, in the first cycle of 3.17, in the second cycle was 3.26, in the third cycle was 3.50. 2) the average ability of teachers to carry out learning as follows, in the first cycle of 3.13, in the second cycle of 3.19, in the third cycle of 3.50. 3) the average student learning outcomes are as follows, in cycle I is 66.66, in cycle II is 73.41, and in cycle III is 82.53. From the data obtained, it can be concluded that the Numbered Heads Together type cooperative model can improve student learning outcomes.Keywords: Improvement, learning outcomes, Numbered Heads Together type cooperative model. Abstract

AbstracThis research aim of the study was to find out about the activities and results of learning mathematics using Bruner's Theory assisted by media unit cubes in the class V of Darit State Islamic Middle School. The method used is descriptive method. Collaborative nature. The research subjects were teachers who taught Mathematics and the fifth grade students of Darit State Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Settings for setting settings in class. The technique used is the direct observation technique. While the data collection tool is the observation sheet. The data collected is data about the activities of teachers and students and the learning outcomes of students in the learning process. The results of the study in the first cycle of the activities of students in mathematics learning amounted to 62.5% of the second cycle of 77.08%, the third cycle was 90.63%. While the mathematics learning outcomes of cyclical students 1 averaged 65, cycle 2 averaged 75, and cycle 3 averaged 80.Keywords: Activities, Learning Outcomes, Bruner's Theory

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan jenis, bentuk, dan fungsi, deiksis persona, ruang, dan waktu yang terdapat dalam buku kumpulan cerpen Pilihan Kompas 2013. Bentuk penelitian ini kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif.. Berdasarkan analisis data pada ketiga cerpen Pilihan Kompas 2013 dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada cerpen ?Menebang Pohon Silsilah? memiliki 4 jenis deiksis persona, 15 bentuk deiksis persona, 2 fungsi deiksis enklitis, 1 jenis deiksis ruang, 1 bentuk deiksis ruang, 1 fungsi deiksis ruang, 2 bentuk deiksis waktu, dan 2 fungsi deiksis waktu, dan cerpen ?Sumpah Serapah Bangsawan? memiliki 6 jenis deiksis persona dan 15 bentuk deiksis persona , 3 fungsi deiksis enklitis, 1 jenis deiksis ruang, 1 bentuk deiksis ruang, 1 fungsi deiksis ruang, 3 bentuk deiksis waktu, dan 2 fungsi deiksis waktu, dan cerpen ?Piutang-Piutang Menjelang Ajal? memiliki 5 jenis deiksis persona dan 16 bentuk deiksis persona, 4 fungsi deiksis enklitis, 2 jenis deiksis ruang, 2 bentuk deiksis ruang, 1 fungsi deiksis ruang, 4 bentuk deiksis waktu, dan 2 fungsi deiksis waktu. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berguna bagi pembaca untuk menambah wawasan tentang penggunaan deiksis persona, ruang, dan waktu dalam cerpen. Kata Kunci: Deiksis, Cerpen, Kompas. Abstract: Considering to the purpose in this research which is to describe the types, forms and the functions of person, place, time deixis in Kompas' choice short stories collection, 2013, the method applied is 'descriptive study' with qualitative research. The sources of the data for the research are deixis which are founded in the short story. The references are three short stories in Kompas' short stories collection, 2013. Bases on the data analysis on the three short stories, it can be concluded that the short story entitled "Menebang Pohon Silsilah" has 4 types and 15 forms of person deixis, 2 functions of enklitis deixis, 1 type and 1 form of place deixis, 1 function of place deixis, 2 forms and 2 functions of time deixis. "Sumpah Serapah Bangsawan" short story has 6 types and 15 forms of person deixis, 3 functions of enklitis deixis, 1 type and 1 form of place deixis, 1 function ofplace deixis. And for the last short story entitled "Piutang-Piutang Menjelang Ajal"  has 5 types and 16 forms of person deixis, 4 functions of enklitis deixis, 2 types and 2 forms of place deixis, 1 function of place deixis, 4 forms of time deixis, and 2 functions of time deixis. This research is expected to be useful for the readers to increase their knowledge about the use of person, place and time deixis in short story.
