Abstract

Farmers are at high risk of pesticide exposure. The threat of death from pesticides reaches 168,000 per year. Pesticide free radicals cause health problems in the form of impaired function of nerves, liver, and kidneys and cause cancer. Low blood cholinesterase (CHE) indicates pesticide residue. Steeping bay leaves (Syzygium polyanthum) are expected to improve liver function to detoxify pesticide-free radicals that have already entered the body. This study aims to determine the effect of steeping bay leaves (Syzygium polyanthum) on increased cholinesterase (CHE) levels. Qualitative research with pre-experimental design one group pre-test-post test. As a population is a group of farmers in the Pasuruan area. The sample size in this study was 20 respondents using purposive sampling techniques. The research procedure is to measure cholinesterase levels in the blood before and after steeping bay leaves (Syzygium polyanthum) after 15 days. The data were analyzed by paired t-test. There was an increase in average blood cholinesterase levels of 399.35 U/L after 15 days of regular consumption. Blood cholinesterase levels before treatment were 5,301.25 U/L and after treatment became 5,700.00 U/L. The paired t-test results showed a significance value of p = 0.000. The average working time of the participants 18.5 years is very likely to have a lot of pesticide residues in their bodies and cause disruption of the normal function of several organs, causing mild and severe health problems. Bay leaf steeping (syzygium polyanthum)has been shown to increase cholinesterase (CHE) levels. To avoid the threat of health problems, farmers should diligently consume steeping bay leaves regularly.

Abstract

In the era of changes in hospitals from implementing manual systems to more modern hospitals with digital systems, this has had many impacts, including reducing the need for labor in several departments. Or another option is to move human resources to other jobs that still require human workers in the work in that unit. Hospitals must wisely shift their human resources work so as not to drastically reduce human resources. Results: Total time Norm = 34 Minutes,Working hours available = 133.920 minutes / year, and Calculating Standard Work Load (Working hours available / Total time Norm ) = 868.248. Meeting Supporting Task Factors = 29,57%, Training Supporting Task Factors = 5,38%, Total Supporting Task Factors = 29,57% + 5,38% = 34,95%, Supporting Task Standards = 1,54. Total Energy Requirements 3.40, Supporting Task Standard 1.54, Human resource requirements 5.24 (Rounding 5). Conclusions: Based on the results of research at the hospital, in the file scan section, there were 2 officers. The results of calculating human resource needs at the Hospital in the file scan section using the Health Workload Analysis (ABK Kes) method resulted in a total of 5 staff, whereas currently only 2 staff are available so an additional 3 people are needed.

Abstract

In the diagnostic criteria outlined in the DSM-5-TR (APA, 2022) Autism is characterized by hyper- or hyporeactivity to sensory input or unusual interest. Children with Autism encounter challenges in processing sensory information, leading to difficulties in regulating responses to specific sensations and stimuli. Meanwhile, behaviours such as repetitive motor movements, running, aggression, and self-harming have been correlated with sensory processing disorders. Furthermore, some daily functioning that are often disrupted due to sensory processing disorders are sleeping, eating, and social activities. Therefore in this study, we aim to examine association between sensory profile and daily functioning in children with Autism. We collected data from parents of children aged 2-5 years with Autism (N = 96) and non Autism (N = 94) in Indonesia for three months (September-December 2023). Parents filled out five types of instruments (CARS-P, FISH, BAMBI, SCQ, and SSP) and sociodemographic data. The results of this study showed a significant difference between autistic and non-autistic groups in their daily functioning (p < 0.001). In autistic group, we found a significant relationship between sensory profiles and eating behavior (p < 0.001); and social communication skills (p < 0.001). In the non-autistic group, only sensory profile was corelated to eating behavior (p < 0.001). Primary results indicate that, the sensory profile is closely related to eating behavior and social communication skills in autistic children.

Abstract

Drugs are a complex problem in Indonesia, this is proven by the significant increase in the number of drug abusers or addicts. One of the factors causing the increase in drug consumption among teenagers is their attitude of ignoring applicable values, norms and laws. This study aims to determine the factors that dominate the occurrence of drug abuse in adolescents. The design of this research is descriptive correlative with a cross sectional approach. Sampling of 30 teenagers from total sampling statical metode. Data analysis used the Spearman Rho statistical test and binary logistic regression. The results showed that there was a relationship between age (p value = 0.005; OR = 33,925), peer influence (p value = 0.039; OR: 14,390). The most dominant factor in the occurrence of drug abuse in adolescents is age. Recommendations that can be conveyed from the results of research on children entering the adolescent transition phase should receive special assistance in their growth and development by creating emotional relationships and a sense of empathy for adolescence.

Abstract

Biofilm is a collection of microbial cells that are irreversibly attached to a surface and encased in an EPS matrix (Extracellular Polymeric Substances). One of the infectious bacteria that produce biofilms is Staphylococcus aureus. Coffee contains compounds that are responsible for antibacterial activity, including alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolics, terpenoids/steroids and saponins among others. The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of the antibiofilm between Green Coffee (Coffea canephora P.) and Robusta Coffee (Coffea canephora L.) against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Extraction of green coffee beans and robusta coffee beans was carried out by maceration method, fractionation was carried out by liquid-liquid extraction method using water, ethyl acetate and n-hexane as solvents. Inhibitory activity and biofilm degradation were carried out using the crystal violet staining method which was read at a wavelength of 595 nm. Obtained inhibition and degradation were analyzed using the ANOVA statistical test. The method for testing anti-biofilm activity was determined by testing the inhibition of biofilm formation and biofilm degradation using extracts and fractions robusta green coffee bean (Coffea canephora P.) and roasted robusta coffee beans (Coffea canephora L.) at various concentrations of 2, 4, 8 and 16 mg/ml. Robusta roasted coffee bean extract has the greatest anti-biofilm inhibition effectiveness with IC50 biofilm inhibition of 2.13 ppm. The ethyl acetate fraction from roasted robusta coffee beans has the greatest effectiveness in destroying (degrading) anti-biofilms with the EC50 biofilm degradation of 1.93 ppm.
