Abstract

The 21st century has witnessed a radical transformation in human communication ecology, with social media evolving from mere connection platforms into a primary lifeworld for young people. Generation Z, growing up in an intrinsically digital environment, internalizes the logic, norms, and rhythms of social media into their identity construction. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to analyze 32 empirical studies (2019-2024) exploring the role of social media in shaping Christian character among Generation Z. The findings reveal a dual formative role: social media acts as a Curated Sanctuary, providing unprecedented access to spiritual resources, communities, and role models, while simultaneously functioning as an Algorithmic Arena that fosters performative piety, theological reduction, and value conflicts. In response, Generation Z demonstrates active agency through negotiation strategies like content curation, compartmentalization, and digital fasting, leading to the formation of a hybrid habitus. This review proposes a Critical Digital Discipleship Framework as an integrative model emphasizing theological digital literacy, intentional curation, and embodied integration to guide effective character formation in the digital age.

Abstract

The implementation of E-Governance in improving public services at the Medan Denai District Office, Medan City, represents a digital transformation effort aimed at creating a transparent, accountable, and efficient government through information technology. However, its application at the district level has not yet been fully optimized. This study aims to describe the implementation of E-Governance at the Medan Denai District Office and to identify the factors inhibiting its effectiveness. The research employs a qualitative approach using primary and secondary data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using an interactive analysis model consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This study applies George C. Edward III’s policy implementation theory, which emphasizes four variables: communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. The findings indicate that E-Governance implementation at the Medan Denai District Office remains suboptimal. Information technology has improved service efficiency but is not yet fully integrated. Transparency is limited due to the lack of accessible public information, while accountability mechanisms such as complaint and reporting systems remain manual. The main obstacles include limited human resource capacity, inadequate technological infrastructure, weak inter-stakeholder communication, and a bureaucratic structure that does not fully support digital systems. Strengthening human resources, improving infrastructure, and optimizing digital systems are necessary to enhance public service quality.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of workplace spirituality training in improving teacher performance at SMP IMIM Putra YASDIC IMIM. Educational digitalization through the Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM) was found to trigger administrative burdens and work-related stress, which have an effect on the decline in teacher performance. Using a quasi-experimental design (pretest posttest control group design), the study involved 15 teachers who were divided into experimental and control groups. Performance was measured through the results of academic supervision focusing on instructional planning and learning process aspects. Data analysis employed Independent and Paired Sample t-Tests. The results showed a very significant improvement in performance in the experimental group by 96.8% (scores increased from 56.13 to 110.50) with a very large effect size (Cohen’s d = -3.847), while the control group tended to remain stagnant. It is concluded that strengthening the dimensions of work meaning, sense of togetherness, and alignment with Islamic values is effective in transforming teachers’ intrinsic motivation and mental resilience, which directly has an effect on the improvement of instructional quality in the classroom. Abstract

In the era of rapidly developing information and communication technology, social interactions have shifted significantly to digital platforms. While this progress brings many benefits, such as ease of communication and access to information, information technology can also have significant negative impacts, one of which is the emergence of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is behavior intended to humiliate, intimidate, injure, or cause harm to a vulnerable party using information technology communication tools. In other countries, there are many cases of cyberbullying that end in more serious incidents such as suicide. This paper uses a qualitative method with a literature review approach. This approach was chosen to in-depth explore various literature and previous research related to the topic of bullying among the community, especially teenagers in the digital era. The results of the study indicate that the negative impact of information technology on cyberbullying cases has occurred at a fairly large rate (28%), but the impact is not very serious. From the answers given, it can be concluded that many people do not understand cyberbullying and its potential impacts. This study also explores the roles, responsibilities, and actions of teenagers, parents, schools, and law enforcement.

Abstract

Attendance is a data collection activity to determine the number of employees present, arrival times, and departure times in a company. Attendance is divided into two types: manual and automatic. Manual attendance is an attendance process carried out using a handwritten note or signature form. Automatic attendance is an attendance process that involves technology. With facial recognition technology, an attendance system can be developed. Facial recognition technology is a computer technology that functions to determine facial location, facial size, feature detection, background image ignoring, and facial image identification. Facial recognition involves several variables, such as source images, processed images, extracted images, and a person's identity data. Deep learning with Convolutional Neural Networks is one method used to predict and classify different human facial images. This facial detection attendance system application is designed and built on a desktop platform, using the Python programming language. The application of deep learning algorithms with convolutional neural networks (CNN) in this facial detection attendance system can streamline the existing attendance system.

Abstract

Phenomena in the modern era show that adolescents are in a phase of crisis. Many adolescents are involved in deviant behavior and criminality; this condition is caused by the lack of attention and guidance from families and significant others. Families and significant others are obligated to educate adolescents, especially in matters of decision making. The method employed in this study is qualitative research based on library research. This study examines decision making verses related to the adolescent phase. There are five thematic narratives discussed: the story of Prophet Yusuf who was seduced by his master’s wife; the story of Prophet Ibrahim in his search for God leading to the destruction of idols; the story of the Companions of the Cave (Ashabul Kahfi) who took refuge in a cave; the story of the sacrifice of Prophet Ismail; and the story of Qabil who killed his brother. Based on these verses, interpretations by Muslim scholars are presented and subsequently analyzed using decision making theory. The results of this study indicate that the narratives mentioned above do not apply all methods within decision making theory; some of them prioritize intuition. This is because they are prophets and the friends of Allah, who possess intuition aligned with the divine light (nur Allah). In contrast, adolescents in the modern era are not in the same condition; they require education due to differing family and environmental backgrounds. Educating adolescents on the concept of decision making becomes a solution to minimize failures in making decisions that may have fatal consequences for their future.
