Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in the moral development of early childhood and identify the methods used, as well as analyze the factors that influence its effectiveness. This research employs a qualitative library research method by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing relevant literature sources, including books, scientific journals, and official documents related to IRE and early childhood moral development. The results indicate that IRE contributes significantly to children's moral formation through habituation (ta'widiyah), exemplary modeling (uswah hasanah), storytelling (qashash), and reward and punishment approaches. The integration of Islamic values in early childhood education programs has proven effective in instilling honesty, responsibility, empathy, and respect for others. The role of parents, teachers, and the surrounding environment is also decisive in supporting the success of IRE in shaping children's moral character. This study concludes that IRE is not merely religious instruction, but a holistic approach to character building aligned with early childhood education principles and national education goals in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to examine Islamic mindfulness-based healing techniques, analyze their roles, mechanisms of spiritual recovery, and the spiritual transformation of former drug addicts, as well as explore their contribution to a comprehensive rehabilitation model implemented at Pesantren Al Ghazali Kediri. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study design. Data collection techniques include observation, in depth interviews, and documentation involving students, mentors, and caregivers of the pesantren. Data analysis uses an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity is ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, member checking, and an audit trail. The findings indicate that Islamic mindfulness based healing techniques are implemented through the practices of muraqabah, tazkiyatun nafs, and muhasabah which effectively enhance self awareness, emotional regulation, and control over addictive impulses. The recovery mechanism operates through stages of awareness, self regulation, and the development of adaptive responses. In addition, spiritual transformation occurs, marked by changes in self identity, an increased sense of life meaning, and resilience against relapse. This approach contributes to a comprehensive rehabilitation model that integrates cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual aspects in a sustainable manner, thereby fostering enduring intrapersonal transformation among former drug addicts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of Islamic counselling approaches to overcome academic stress and understand the spiritual changes experienced by students during counselling. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed for this research, involving 10 students who exhibited symptoms of academic stress. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The findings revealed that five students practised tahajjud prayer therapy, two routinely read the Qur'an and three practised dhikr and prayer as religious coping mechanisms. These approaches contributed to reducing anxiety, improving emotional stability, strengthening self-confidence and developing adaptive coping strategies. Students also underwent spiritual development, interpreting academic pressure as a test of life that could be overcome through patience, effort, and reliance on Allah SWT. The study concludes that Islamic counselling is effective in helping students manage academic stress by integrating psychological and spiritual approaches within the madrasah environment.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the number recognition skills of children aged 4–5 years through the use of Enactive, Iconic, and Symbolic (EIS) card media at TK PKK Sobo Desa Gedangan Kecamatan Ngrayun Kabupaten Ponorogo. The study was motivated by the low level of children's number recognition abilities, as indicated by difficulties in sequencing numbers, identifying number symbols, counting objects, and matching number symbols with corresponding quantities. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of two cycles: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 21 children in Group A, aged 4–5 years. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and field notes, while data analysis was conducted using both quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. The results revealed that the implementation of EIS card media significantly improved children's number recognition skills. In the pre-cycle stage, only 24% of the children achieved the categories of Developing as Expected (DE) and Very Well Developed (VWD). Following the intervention in Cycle I, the percentage increased to 62%, and further improved to 86% in Cycle II, exceeding the predetermined success criterion of 80%. This improvement occurred because EIS card media provided a structured learning experience that progressed from concrete activities to visual representations and finally to symbolic understanding, in accordance with Bruner’s learning theory. Therefore, it can be concluded that Enactive, Iconic, and Symbolic (EIS) card media are effective in enhancing number recognition skills among children aged 4–5 years while creating a more active, engaging, and meaningful learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the stages and strategies implemented by teachers in developing children’s drawings into a book in early childhood education. The study employed a qualitative approach design conducted at TK Masjid Syuhada Yogyakarta. The research subject was the teacher of the art and creativity center. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the process of transforming children’s drawings into a book involves five main stages: (1) introduction to basic literacy, (2) exploration of children’s ideas and experiences, (3) organization of artwork into a portfolio, (4) further development and creative exploration, and (5) publication of the artwork into a book. The teacher’s strategies at each stage are participatory, constructivist, and child-centered, while also incorporating scaffolding in technical aspects without limiting children’s creativity. The learning process not only produces aesthetically valuable works but also integrates art development with early literacy and character building, including independence, responsibility, and self-confidence. Furthermore, publishing the artwork in book form provides authentic learning experiences, allowing children to recognize the value of their work and its potential to be appreciated by others. Therefore, transforming children’s drawings into a book can serve as an effective integrative learning model to enhance creativity and literacy in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study explores how a community faced the aftermath of a flood, beginning with their emotional turmoil, moving through the religious strategies they embraced, and culminating in their search for spiritual meaning and heightened environmental awareness. Set in Kubu Village, Peusangan Siblah Krueng subdistrict, Bireuen regency, the research, conducted after the flood of 27 November 2025, draws on in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Using NVivo 14 Plus, the data was analyzed to uncover key patterns and themes. The findings reveal that as the floodwaters rose, the community was swept by panic, fear, and anxiety. In response, they leaned on religious coping methods like prayer, remembrance of God (dhikr), seeking forgiveness (istighfar), trusting in God (tawakal), and strengthening their faith. These practices became a source of emotional solace amid the turmoil. Through this journey, they gained psychological stability and began to view disasters as both tests and expressions of God’s will. Their experience also sparked a deeper environmental awareness and a stronger commitment to preventing future calamities. The study concludes that the community’s spirituality blossomed gradually after the disaster, shaped by a blend of psychological, religious, and ecological influences. These insights underscore the importance of a holistic approach in supporting communities as they recover from disasters.
