Abstract

This research examines the exploration of teacher competency in inclusive education which can be identified through pedagogical, professional, social and personality competencies. This research uses Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to identify, review and evaluate several studies that are relevant in answering the problem statements. Moreover, research with SLR method has several stages from formulating questions, searching for literature, determining the indicators, examining the literature, presenting, processing and drawing conclusions from the data obtained. Based on literature review, the researchers found 15 articles and reselected it into 9 articles. Then, researchers compare the findings and draw conclusions from these results. From the research result, it was found that competency becomes a media for providing the best learning quality for student’s satisfaction in teaching and learning process. This proficiency is critical because it allows teachers to fulfill their roles as facilitators, motivators, inspirers, learning guides, and resources for students rather than being ordinary teaching agents that only acts as learning source for their students.

Abstract

Education is essentially a process of change for the better. The change process does not always go well. In learning practice, problems are often encountered related to not achieving the expected changes. Learning outcomes represent changes in the overall learning process that has been carried out previously. The problem that often occurs is low student learning outcomes. This research was conducted to improve student learning outcomes by implementing the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Cooperative Model in social studies learning. This research uses an action study (action research) on class VII students of SMP IT Ar-Rislah Batam in two cycles. Research data was obtained through the distribution of test instruments, observation and documentation. After the information was obtained, the results were reviewed through descriptive statistical analysis. The research results show that the application of the Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative model in social studies learning makes it easier for teachers to achieve learning goals and is able to maximize student learning outcomes. The average value of learning outcomes obtained by students experienced a positive increase. In the pre-cycle stage it was 71.6, in the first cycle it was 80, and in the second cycle it rose to 88. So, the target set at ≥ 90% for the standard of completeness of classical student learning outcomes and ≥ 75 average scores for individuals has been achieved.

Abstract

Teachers are the educational component that has the most strategic role in carrying out the educational process and achieving educational goals, both nationally and institutionally. In order to achieve the fundamental explanation mentioned above, teachers are advised to optimize their organizational culture, create a comfortable work environment, and provide motivation and discipline. This study aimed to assess the influence of organizational culture, work environment, work motivation, and work discipline on the performance of school principals. A Likert scale questionnaire was administered to 41 teachers from Batam City. The results showed that: (1) organizational culture had a partially significant effect on performance, with a Sig value of 0.346 greater than 0.05; (2) work environment had a partially significant effect, with a Sig value of 0.042 less than 0.05; (3) work motivation had a partially significant effect, with a Sig value of 0.691 greater than 0.05; (4) work discipline had a partially significant effect, with a Sig value of 0.280 greater than 0.05; (5) the independent variables significantly impacted the dependent variable, with a Sig value of 0.000 less than 0.05; (6) the independent variables explained 36.1% of the dependent variable's variance, while the remaining 63.9% was influenced by other factors, with an adjusted R Square value of 0.361 or 36.1%. Consequently, it can be concluded that all variables played a significant role in affecting the performance of vocational teachers. The results of this research provide good input to policymakers to optimize work culture and develop training models to increase motivation for teachers to set their main tasks to achieve national education goals, especially in the city of Batam.

Abstract

Education is a basic thing that every human being needs. Education is also a way to internalize the various values and views held and upheld by a group or society. If in education the Indonesian nation proclaimed "Pancasila Student Profile", then the Malay community has the expression "Parents' debt". The phrase "parental debt" in this case is the debt parents owe to their children, where one of the debts is related to education. Both the phrase "Parents' debt" and the concept contained in "Pancasila Student Profile", indirectly indicate the importance of education for society. This research aims to reveal the meaning behind the expression "parents' debt", formulate the educational concept behind the expression "parents' debt", and find out the relevance of the Malay people's expression "Parents' debt" to the educational concept launched by the Indonesian government, namely "Pancasila Student Profile".This research is a literature study with a philosophical hermeneutic method. The methodical elements of this research include deduction-induction, holistic, historical continuity, language analysis, heuristics, and description. This research came up with the following results: a) the expression "hutang orang tua" contains a person's obligations towards their children, where one of these obligations is related to the educational provisions that parents must provide to their children; b) the concept of education contained in the expression "hutang orang tua" includes two aspects, spiritual and physical, because both, physical and spiritual, are one unit with the aim of giving birth to "anak bertuah"; c) the values that constitute the content of education in Malay society have similarities with the "Profil Pelajar Pancasila" such as the values of faith and devotion to Almighty God, good character, mutual cooperation and tolerance. This shows that the values contained in the "Profil Pelajar Pancasila" have essentially existed and been developed in Indonesian society. The novelty in this paper is apart from the relevance of the expression "hutang orang tua" to the Profil Pelajar Pancasila, the novelty is also related to the discovery of the meaning behind the expression "hutang orang tua" and the formulation of the educational concept behind the expression "hutang orang tua".

Abstract

Writing is the starting point of a lesson that continues on to the next lesson. Writing skills are said to be high-level skills that must be trained through various writing exercises and then expressed in written language, such as in narrative texts. In the activity of writing narrative texts, the difficulties experienced by students were due to not being used to writing essays. Therefore, the problems above need to be overcome so as to increase students' interest in making narrative texts. The solution developed by the researcher is through the use of serial picture media, so that students can develop skills in writing narrative text covering aspects of content, structure, and language. The purpose of this research in general is to describe the results of writing narrative texts from the use of picture series media made by students of class V SD. This study uses a context-based descriptive analysis research method using a qualitative approach. This is because the data obtained will be examined and analysed as it is by described it in words. Based on the results of the study, some of the fifth grade students at SDN 1 Cikukulu were already able to compose narrative texts through the use of serial picture media seen from the results of their writing. Based on the results of the first assignment and the results of the second assignment there was an increase from an average of 6.3 to 8.15 which was obtained from the results of the students' writing.
