Abstract

Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM) is an application that empowers teachers at SDN 7 Suwawal, supports self-development, and maximizes students' potential. Teachers are expected to master four main competencies: pedagogical, personality, social, and professional. PMM facilitates increasing competency through independent training, references, and understanding of the Merdeka Curriculum. This research aims to analyze the role of PMM in teacher self-development at SDN 7 Suwawal, its impact on teaching performance, and the obstacles faced. The method used is qualitative with case studies, collecting data through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation from three teachers (classes I, III, VI) in the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. The results of interviews and observations are strengthened by documentation of real action certificates, which show concrete results from the use of PMM in teacher self-development. Class I teachers actively access PMM and participate in discussions even though they have not yet received a certificate. Class III teachers earned one certificate, while class VI teachers earned four certificates, demonstrating commitment and perseverance. The research results show that PMM helps in independent training, increasing competence, and implementing differentiated learning. Although the main obstacle is poor signal network quality, PMM has a positive impact on teachers' teaching performance, improves the quality of learning, and supports continuous professional development. By providing access to independent training, supporting a variety of teaching methods, and offering a platform for collaboration and workshops, PMM contributes significantly to improving the quality of education at SDN 7 Suwawal.

Abstract

Collaboration skills are one of the demands of the 21st century that are needed to face the development of the times. In fact, collaboration skills are still not widely applied in schools, including at SDIT Al Irsyad Al Islamiyah. The school has not integrated collaboration skills for several reasons, namely not having a deep understanding of collaboration skills and having constraints in conditioning students in groups. Therefore, an interesting learning scenario is needed that can combine practical activities, local potential, and collaboration skills. The development of a teaching module that integrates Pamekasan's local potential is carried out in order to help students practice their collaboration skills so as to produce a valid and effective teaching module. In this study, the model used was 4D (without dissemination) with interviews, questionnaires, and observations as data collection techniques. The results of the study showed that the teaching module was declared valid with a teaching module validation percentage of 96%, material validation of 83%, language validation of 83%, and validation of learning practitioners of 97%. The teaching module was also declared effective because it was reviewed from the increase in observation results at the third meeting which showed collaboration with a score of 84%, student learning outcomes were categorized as very good, namely 93%, and teacher responses obtained a score of 100% with a very good category.

Abstract

Students’ low English proficiency and critical thinking often stem from traditional language learning methods that do not encourage performance, creativity, or analytical abilities. Teachers play a vital role in cultivating these skills through meaningful and interactive learning experiences. This study investigated the effectiveness of using photomindset learning media based on a discovery learning method to enhance English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students' critical thinking skills. Employing a quantitative approach with a one-group pre-test post-test design, this study involved 33 first-grade students from a Junior High School in Batam, Indonesia, through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a test consisted 30 multiple-choice questions and one essay covering reading and writing section, validated by expert judgment, Pearson Product-moment and tested for reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha. A Paired-sample T-test revealed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (a sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05). The finding demonstrates that using photomindset learning media based on discovery learning effectively enhances students’ critical thinking skills. This study contributes valuable insights into EFL teaching by demonstrating how integrating discovery learning with visual media can foster students’ analytical and problem-solving abilities. Future research should explore its impact on other English skills and involve a larger sample with a control group for broader comparisons.

Abstract

Character education is the foundation for shaping the attitudes and behaviors of Indonesia's future generations, based on national values and exemplary conduct This study aims to analyze the implementation of mutual cooperation character among elementary school (SD) teachers through the implementation of the Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5). The methodology applied in this study uses a quantitative approach with a survey design, where the entire population of teachers at SD AL Amanah Tangerang Selatan is used as a saturated sample. Data were collected using a questionnaire designed based on a Likert scale to measure the understanding and application of mutual cooperation values in the learning process. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques to identify patterns related to the application of mutual cooperation characters among teachers. The results showed that most teachers were aware of the importance of mutual cooperation characters and tried to integrate them into teaching and learning activities. However, there were differences in the level of application of these values, which were influenced by factors such as school management support and available training opportunities. This study also revealed that the application of mutual cooperation characters not only had a positive impact on the formation of student character, but also strengthened cooperation among teachers. These findings are expected to provide valuable insights for the development of character education programs in schools, as well as encourage increased collaboration in implementing mutual cooperation values in the educational environment.

Abstract

The increasing phenomenon of student employment affects approximately 30% of Indonesian students, creating complex challenges in balancing academic and professional responsibilities. This quantitative descriptive study examined competency levels among working students managing dual roles in higher education. Using a structured 4-point Likert scale questionnaire, data were collected from 67 working students across UNRIKA, UT, and UNIMED, with supplementary interviews and observations for validation. Descriptive statistical analysis examined eight competency dimensions through frequency distributions and cross-tabulation methods. Results indicated predominance of young females (18-25 years) among working students. High competency levels were demonstrated across multiple areas: 87.5% completed assignments punctually, 76.5% managed stress effectively, and 87.5% exhibited strong communication abilities. Task management and adaptability showed positive outcomes, with 82.9% successfully adjusting academic schedules for work demands and 87.5% prioritizing tasks effectively. However, workload management presented challenges, as 65.7% reported feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities. The statistical findings highlight the need for institutional support mechanisms including flexible learning frameworks, accessible counseling services, and enhanced digital resources. This research contributes empirical evidence for developing targeted interventions to optimize working student competencies, providing measurable insights into dual role management patterns that can inform evidence-based educational policies and support program development in higher education institutions.
