Abstract

Currently, there are many private special needs schools in the province of North Sumatra, but very few public special needs schools, although not everyone with special needs has much money financially. Therefore, there are still many poor children who do not get the right to school. In 2018, the SLB Autistic Sumut was built. This SLB is one of three SLB at the provincial level in North Sumatra Province and the only one in Medan. Building a school will be very beneficial for poor people who have autistic families so that their children can experience school. The purpose of this study was to find out (1) the rights and obligations of persons with disabilities in the SUMUT State SLB schools (2) to determine the implementation of the SUMUT State SLB (3) implementation, learning planning, assessment and evaluation. Facilities students and teachers work there. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. Observations and interviews with one of the lecturers at SLB Negeri SUMUT were used as data collection techniques. Based on the information received, there are 27 teachers and 9 employees/staff, and 75% of students with autism. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that rights and obligations have been harmonized in SLB Negeri Autism

Abstract

AbstrakThis study aimed to develop an independent learning of media in the form of an application with SWF (Small Web File) extension and can be opened via Android. This study used the research and development (RnD) method by adapting the Borg and Gall model. The data of this study were taken from student questionnaire sheets as well as the results of interviews with the third grade elementary school teachers of State Secondary school Number 17, Pontianak City. The results showed that during the process of the development of   thematic-based independent learning, students have been through 7 of stages in learning: the potential and problem stages, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product testing, and product revision. The feasibility of this learning media in the first phase of the trial showed that   94%   responses of students lead to very decent criteria. Meanwhile, in the second trial, the response of students showed that the response from students was 96% having very decent criteria.KeywordsAdobe Flash Professional CS6, Development, Self Learning Media, Thematic

Abstract

This research aims identifying and alleviate the case of students who are addicted to playing online games at the State High School 1 Sungai Raya. The approach used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method and a case study research form. The case subjects in this study were two people with the initials UDS and RM. Data collection techniques in this study used were interviews, home visits, and documentation studies. The results of the treatment for Subject Case I, namely: a) study participants have been able to sincerely accept what has happened, b) study participants are more mature in responding to problems received, c) study participants limit playing online games by making a time schedule and reducing time playing online games into a maximum of 2 hours only that was previously 5-6 hours, d) there is an awareness of wanting to make changes, e) study participants have willingness to socialize, and f) study participants want to develop their potential. The results of the treatment of Case II Subjects are as follows: a) study participants want to develop their study awareness, b) study participants   limit the online games playing, c) study participants are able to manage their behaviors, d) research participants are able to socialize with friends, and   d) one of research participants is able to forgive his family's death and is always grateful for the situation.

Abstract

Sex education is very important to convey to people, including elementary school students. Sex education aims to provide information about the truth and understanding of everything related to sexuality, so that in the future when students grow up they can live a social life properly and correctly according to the knowledge they gained while at school. The urgency of sex education is given to elementary school children so that children can prevent and minimize the impact of sexual harassment which is currently rampant. This research is a literature review study with the topic of discussion, namely understanding elementary school students' sex education. Based on the results of the review, it provides unique findings regarding sex education in elementary schools. These findings provide an understanding that: 1) the level of parental education has an impact on the level of understanding of children's sexuality, 2) parents have a role in preventing sex that occurs in elementary school children, 3) communication between parents and children must be established in harmony as a form of development children's sexuality period, and 4) educational institutions must be aware that sex education needs to be provided when children are at primary school age with adapted material.

Abstract

Listening skills are the most basic skills that must be possessed by students. The low listening skills of the second grade students of SDN Pasirangin on the material of fairy tales and the lack of use of media are the background of this study. The purposes of the research are (1) to find out the use of podcast media in learning to listen the fairy tales and (2) to find out the learning outcomes from the use of podcast media in learning to listen the fairy tales. Learning media is an important component in learning. Podcast media as an audio-digital based learning media is expected to improve students"™ listening skills. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques carried out are observation, questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The results of the study are the use of podcast media in learning to listen the fairy tales can make the learning more fun, effective, interesting, and make students more enthusiastic in learning. In addition, the results of this study indicate the students"™ personal interests and the use of podcast media by teacher in learning are the factors that influence the student listening process. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that podcast media can be an alternative innovative learning media that can be used by teacher in the learning process, especially listening learning so that students"™ listening skills become better.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of the practicum KIT and the teacher's response to the media developed in the environment-based simple distillation practicum KIT for class VII at SMP/Mts Sungai Raya. The instrument used in this study to collect data was questionnaire. Based on the results of the feasibility assessment of the media, this simple distillation practicum KIT was easy to use in distillation practicum with the lowest score of 83.3% with very good criteria. Meanwhile, the highest score percentage is 100% with very good criteria, stated in statements 1, 2 and 5. The highest score percentage   showed that the environment-based simple distillation practicum KIT media really referred to the mixture separation material. Teacher commented that the practicum KIT helped carry out learning efficiently. Based on the recapitulation of the teachers"™ responses on questionnaire, the average score obtained was 93.29% with very good criteria.

Abstract

Short stories as a reflection of life, present various realities of life and culture that are inherent in humans. Toraja culture, which is depicted through a short story entitled in Di Tubuh Tarra, dalam Rahim Pohon, certainly carries its own meaning and views on death. Considering that each culture has its own beliefs in the meaning of death, this needs to be understood as a unique and distinctive cultural wealth of the archipelago. Through a qualitative approach, with heuristic and hermeneutic reading, analysis to interpret death in this short story is the focus of the research. This semiotic theory is used to reveal and complete the reading of meanings based on diction or language symbols that appear in the context of the story content. The results of meaning that can be traced through short stories include: 1) Death is a journey to puya (heaven); 2) burial places such as Passiliran and cave walls have meaning and rules for their use, 3) everybody that dies and is still in Tongkonan is considered to be still alive and sick and therefore needs care; 4) on the journey to the puya, every human being needs provisions and burial ceremonies or rituals that have been regulated by Toraja custom, Rambu Solo. By revealing this meaning, it can be concluded that the Toraja people have unique beliefs and views regarding death according to the customs they believe in.

Abstract

This research is designed as research on improving students' speaking ability for students of the undergraduate nursing program. This research used Role-play as a technique in teaching speaking in English course. The method of this research is called"   A   Classroom   Action   Research".   The subject of this research was the undergraduate nursing program in the academic year   2021-2022   semester 5 consisting of   24   students.   The data of this research were collected by using a measurement technique that was a performance test to measure students' achievements. The findings of this classroom action research showed that speaking ability in class increases by using the Roleplay technique. Based on data analysis, the mean score of the students on the first cycle is 6.770, which qualified poor to average, and the mean score of the students on the second cycle is   7.406, which is qualified average to good. It means that the action hypothesis of the using Role play technique to improve students' speaking ability in class is proven.

Abstract

School administration is a process of cooperating with existing resources. Transformational leadership is a leader who has a vision and mission for the future and influences the people he leads to make rapid changes. This study aims to describe transformational leadership in managing school administration at MAS Mathla'ul Anwar Pontianak. The form of research is qualitative with a qualitative descriptive approach. Methods of data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis process implements the Miles and Huberman model, namely data analysis is carried out sequentially starting with data reduction, data exposure, and verification or conclusions. Data validity checking techniques use triangulation and member checks. The findings in this study (1) Charismatic style influences madrasa residents in managing school administration. (2) Inspirational style is capable of directing teachers and administrative staff to achieve common goals. (3) The style of attention makes the madrasa a place for self-actualization. (4) The style of intellectual stimulus encourages madrasa residents to think critically and creatively. The conclusions of this study (1) Charismatic style is able to direct madrasa residents. (2) Inspirational style is able to inspire madrasa residents. (3) The individual attention style of the leadership gives individual attention to the madrasah members. (4) The intellectual stimulus style is able to stimulate madrasa residents in managing school administration.

Abstract

Learning media is a very important aspect in the learning process. The media is to support the teacher to convey material to students. The teacher's task is to choose the right learning media to improve students' understanding. E-learning is a learning model that is made in digital format through electronic devices. This article discusses e-learning as a learning medium for students. The purpose of writing this article is to determine the use of e-learning in a learning system. expand access to education for students, so that learning modules or materials can be easily accessed without being limited by space and time, effective and interactive for students. This e-learning-based application contains estimates and general descriptions, plans for learning activities that utilize computer networks and the internet. The scope of this learning plan includes 4 main components, namely, teaching materials or materials, objectives, teaching and learning processes and also evaluation.
