Abstract

This research aims to identify the critical internal and external factors influencing the development of coffee MSMEs and to formulate strategic recommendations for UUT Agro Semesta in Pajahan Village, Tabanan, Bali. Addressing the slow growth and conventional management practices in the region's coffee sector, this study contributes to the field of management science by providing a strategic framework for small enterprise sustainability. The study employed a quantitative case study design, collecting primary data through structured questionnaires, interviews, and observations from 30 respondents selected via purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS Version 25 for descriptive statistics and the SWOT framework, involving Internal Factor Analysis Summary (IFAS) and External Factor Analysis Summary (EFAS) matrices. The results reveal that the enterprise possesses strong internal foundations (IFAS score: 2.93), primarily driven by specialized farmer skills and high family involvement (90%). However, external analysis (EFAS score: 3.10) highlights significant opportunities in government subsidies and cooperative networks, contrasted by threats from market access barriers (90% reported obstacles) and climate dependency. The findings suggest that the business is in a growth-oriented position, recommending an S-O (Strengths-Opportunities) strategy that prioritizes the utilization of government-led technical training to enhance production and leveraging cooperatives for market expansion. Practically, this study recommends that policymakers facilitate micro-financing and climate-adaptive irrigation technologies to mitigate technical weaknesses. These results offer a roadmap for coffee MSMEs to improve competitive advantage through integrated management and strategic institutional collaboration.

Abstract

Local food security is a strategic issue in sustainable development, especially amidst challenges in food distribution, unequal access, and increasing nutritional needs of the community. Strengthening community-based food systems has encouraged the emergence of the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KDMP) as a village economic aggregator and the Free Nutritional Meal Program (MBG) through public kitchens as food providers for vulnerable groups. The collaboration between these two institutions is seen as capable of shortening the supply chain, increasing the absorption of local products, and strengthening the people's economy. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, documentation studies, and focus group discussions, then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to obtain a comprehensive contextual understanding. The research findings indicate that collaboration between KDMP and public kitchens has significant potential to build a more organized food distribution chain, provide a stable market for village products, and create economic opportunities for local communities. However, institutional fragmentation, technological limitations, varying procurement mechanisms, and the lack of quality standards remain key obstacles. This study concludes that collaborative business models can be an effective strategy for building an inclusive and resilient local food ecosystem if supported by strengthened governance, supply chain digitalization, and cross-sector partnerships. Theoretically, this research contributes to the development of collaborative governance and community-based business models by demonstrating that synergy between local organizations can increase food system resilience while expanding the role of cooperatives as community economic institutions. Consequently, local governments and program managers need to promote collaborative regulation, institutional capacity building, and investment in logistics infrastructure to ensure the sustainability of village-based food systems.

Abstract

Maritime security has evolved beyond traditional military concerns to encompass multidimensional non-traditional threats, particularly at the local governance level. This study analyzes the securitization process of the Integrated Maritime Security Post (Poskamladu) at Tamperan Port within the maritime security system of Pacitan Bay. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The analysis applies the Copenhagen School’s securitization framework, focusing on securitizing actors, existential threats, speech acts, and referent objects. The findings indicate that Poskamladu functions as a securitizing actor by framing non-traditional issues—illegal fishing, coastal spatial conflicts, and disorderly port activities—as existential threats to marine sustainability, community stability, and local economic security. Unlike classical securitization models emphasizing formal declarations, securitization at Tamperan occurs through informal, practice-based speech acts embedded in mediation, coordination, and licensing control. However, the effectiveness of this securitization process is constrained by fragmented authority, limited infrastructure capacity, and insufficient preparedness for technology-based threats. This study contributes theoretically by extending securitization analysis to subnational maritime governance and highlighting the role of informal institutional practices in constructing security threats.

Abstract

Secure cloud infrastructure is necessary for Indonesia's e-learning to undergo a digital transition. This study examines how a data security framework is implemented on a microservices architecture based on Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS). Using a kualitatif approach through case studies, this study integrates the principles of Arsitektur Zero Trust, end-to-end encoding, and service isolation. According to the research findings, this integrated framework can enhance system resilience, speed up security incident response by 65%, and lower the chance of data breaches by up to 87%. The PaaS model's high scalability and inadequate resource control make this framework easily applicable to a variety of other large-scale digital platforms. When creating an e-learning ecosystem that is resistant to cyberattacks, developers and educational institutions can use this research as a strategic guide.

Abstract

This study examines the role of learning openness in moderating the relationship between tacit knowledge, learning by doing (heritage learning), and human resource productivity in Ulu Belu coffee MSMEs, Indonesia. Grounded in the Knowledge-Based View and Organizational Learning Theory, this research investigates how experiential and inherited knowledge contribute to workforce productivity within traditional agribusiness settings. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using survey data collected from 200 coffee MSME actors in Ulu Belu, Lampung. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that tacit knowledge significantly and positively influences human resource productivity. Likewise, learning by doing through intergenerational knowledge transfer significantly enhances productivity. These results confirm that experience-based and socially embedded learning mechanisms remain critical drivers of performance in traditional coffee enterprises. Furthermore, learning openness plays a significant moderating role. It strengthens the relationship between heritage learning and productivity, indicating that openness to new ideas, external collaboration, and technological adoption amplifies the benefits of traditional knowledge transfer. Learning openness also moderates the effect of tacit knowledge on productivity, although the effect size is relatively weaker. This study contributes to the literature by integrating tacit knowledge, heritage learning, and learning openness into a single empirical model within the agribusiness MSME context. Practically, the findings suggest that enhancing learning openness alongside preserving traditional knowledge can improve workforce productivity and sustainability in coffee-based MSMEs.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between energy consumption and the concept of economic growth in Indonesia, and evaluates its impact on carbon emissions from 2019 to 2025. In examining the relationship between variables, a mixed-form log-linear Cobb-Douglas production function model is used to adopt a dynamic approach with an explanatory design. Annual data are taken from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics, Energy, and Development Indicators. The analysis stages include the Augmented Dickey-Fuller stationarity test, the Granger causality test, Ordinary Least Squares analysis estimation, and to ensure model validity, diagnostic testing. The estimation results show that energy consumption has a positive and significant effect on real Gross Domestic Product. The elasticity coefficient of 1.523 indicates that a one percent increase in energy consumption is associated with a 1.52 percent increase in output. The Granger causality test shows a one-way relationship from energy consumption to economic growth, reflecting the function of energy as the main driver of national production activities. The increase in energy consumption during the economic recovery period is also accompanied by an increase in carbon dioxide emissions, indicating a high carbon intensity in our economic structure. Dependence on fossil-based energy sources continues to be a major factor causing increasing environmental pressure. These findings highlight the need for policies that support energy mix diversification, increased efficiency, and accelerated renewable energy development that can secure long-term growth rates and ensure environmental stability.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of board characteristics on financial performance of manufacturing firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2019–2023. Specifically, it investigates the influence of board size, board independence, board expertise, and female board representation on firm performance, while incorporating board commitment as a moderating variable and firm size, firm age, and leverage as control variables. Financial performance is measured using Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE). The study employs a quantitative research design using secondary data derived from annual reports of 55 manufacturing companies selected through purposive sampling. Panel data regression analysis is conducted using EViews 9. The findings reveal that firm size and firm age positively affect ROA, whereas leverage negatively affects ROA. For ROE, board size, board commitment, and leverage show positive effects, while female board representation, firm size, and firm age demonstrate negative effects. Furthermore, board commitment negatively moderates the relationship between board size and ROE. The results suggest that larger boards may enhance performance through diverse expertise and experience; however, higher female board representation is associated with lower performance within the observed context. This study contributes to corporate governance literature by highlighting the contingent role of board commitment and provides practical implications for corporate governance design and investment decision-making.

Abstract

Digital transformation has reshaped marketing practices, requiring MSMEs to strengthen their digital marketing capability to remain competitive. Variations in marketing performance among digitally active MSMEs suggest the presence of additional influencing factors beyond technological competence. This study aims to examine the influence of digital marketing capability on the marketing performance of MSMEs and to analyze the moderating role of customer satisfaction in this relationship. A quantitative explanatory survey was conducted involving 120 MSME actors implementing digital marketing strategies. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) to test direct and interaction effects. Findings reveal that digital marketing capability significantly enhances marketing performance. Customer satisfaction also has a direct positive effect and significantly strengthens the relationship between digital marketing capability and marketing performance. The interaction effect indicates that higher customer satisfaction amplifies the positive impact of digital capability on business outcomes. The study concludes that optimal MSME marketing performance in the digital era depends on the integration of digital capability and customer satisfaction management. The novelty lies in positioning customer satisfaction as a moderating variable rather than solely as an outcome, providing both conceptual and methodological contributions to digital marketing research in the MSME context.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of internal audit in strengthening corporate governance. This study focuses on the risk management and compliance aspects of an organization's ability to comply with accepted standards, laws, and regulations, especially in this era of digital transformation. Internal audit plays a crucial role in reviewing the suitability of internal control systems, risk management, and compliance. The application of technology in internal audit has enabled increased risk detection efficiency while ensuring better compliance. This study uses a comparative approach, comparing companies that have switched to digital technology systems for internal audit with companies that still use traditional methods. Data collection comes from interviews, surveys, and document analysis of 200 respondents (internal auditors, audit committee members, and senior managers) in 50 companies. Newly introduced digital technologies in internal audit have been shown to strengthen risk management and compliance, thereby improving overall corporate governance. Organizations with strong governance structures, having more independent directors and more effective audit committees, tend to be more successful in risk management. The study also found that clear policies on internal control play a very important role in improving compliance. However, issues such as unreliable investment costs, complete system integration, and resistance from top management remain barriers to implementing digital technologies in internal audit.

Abstract

To improve the efficiency of agriculture and food crops, the use of modern technology is necessary. Precision Land Management consists of a suite of high-tech tools including sensors, drones, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to monitor land and crop conditions in real time. This allows for optimized utilization of inputs such as water, fertilizer, and pesticides. This paper aims to analyze the economic impact of implementing precision agriculture, focusing on its Life Cycle Cost. This includes not only the initial investment, but also current operations, maintenance, and future savings (although there may be some uncertainty regarding the actual costs). This study used Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA). The results show that the implementation of precision agriculture reduces resource consumption. For example, sensors have reduced water use in West Java by 30%, and variable fertilizer application based on Sumatra has reduced fertilizer consumption by 40%. However, the main obstacle is the high initial investment costs, which are a burden for smallholder farmers. Therefore, policies that support the adoption of precision agriculture technologies through various means such as fiscal incentives and training are urgently needed, and it is also important to ensure that such tools can be freely used by farmers throughout Indonesia.
