Abstract

This study examines the impact of flexible work arrangements on innovation and sustainable growth in companies. Flexible working hours allow employees to set their own schedules and decide where and when they work most effectively. This allows them to spend more time at home or in the lab. Detaching the office helps increase productivity, creativity, and employee happiness. However, flexible office models and innovative product breakthroughs have become successful models, leading to success for their practitioners in every way. This study employed a mixed-methods approach, using questionnaires to collect data from 400 organizations across various industries. We also interviewed top managers in five cases. The results show that organizations that adopt flexible work significantly improve their ability to innovate. In technology, financial services, and manufacturing, organizations that work on innovative projects with at least one employee have shortened the overall time to market for new products while launching more successful products. Furthermore, improving employee quality of life is associated with higher levels of employee satisfaction, as employees enjoy their work more, which is beneficial for all parties involved. Furthermore, cyber leadership and digital collaboration technologies are key tools for the success of flexible work arrangements. The results of this study show that in terms of helping companies survive and thrive, adaptive work patterns are not only beneficial but also provide a competitive advantage for our organization over others in an already crowded market.

Abstract

This study examines the role of learning openness in moderating the relationship between tacit knowledge, learning by doing (heritage learning), and human resource productivity in Ulu Belu coffee MSMEs, Indonesia. Grounded in the Knowledge-Based View and Organizational Learning Theory, this research investigates how experiential and inherited knowledge contribute to workforce productivity within traditional agribusiness settings. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using survey data collected from 200 coffee MSME actors in Ulu Belu, Lampung. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that tacit knowledge significantly and positively influences human resource productivity. Likewise, learning by doing through intergenerational knowledge transfer significantly enhances productivity. These results confirm that experience-based and socially embedded learning mechanisms remain critical drivers of performance in traditional coffee enterprises. Furthermore, learning openness plays a significant moderating role. It strengthens the relationship between heritage learning and productivity, indicating that openness to new ideas, external collaboration, and technological adoption amplifies the benefits of traditional knowledge transfer. Learning openness also moderates the effect of tacit knowledge on productivity, although the effect size is relatively weaker. This study contributes to the literature by integrating tacit knowledge, heritage learning, and learning openness into a single empirical model within the agribusiness MSME context. Practically, the findings suggest that enhancing learning openness alongside preserving traditional knowledge can improve workforce productivity and sustainability in coffee-based MSMEs.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between energy consumption and the concept of economic growth in Indonesia, and evaluates its impact on carbon emissions from 2019 to 2025. In examining the relationship between variables, a mixed-form log-linear Cobb-Douglas production function model is used to adopt a dynamic approach with an explanatory design. Annual data are taken from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics, Energy, and Development Indicators. The analysis stages include the Augmented Dickey-Fuller stationarity test, the Granger causality test, Ordinary Least Squares analysis estimation, and to ensure model validity, diagnostic testing. The estimation results show that energy consumption has a positive and significant effect on real Gross Domestic Product. The elasticity coefficient of 1.523 indicates that a one percent increase in energy consumption is associated with a 1.52 percent increase in output. The Granger causality test shows a one-way relationship from energy consumption to economic growth, reflecting the function of energy as the main driver of national production activities. The increase in energy consumption during the economic recovery period is also accompanied by an increase in carbon dioxide emissions, indicating a high carbon intensity in our economic structure. Dependence on fossil-based energy sources continues to be a major factor causing increasing environmental pressure. These findings highlight the need for policies that support energy mix diversification, increased efficiency, and accelerated renewable energy development that can secure long-term growth rates and ensure environmental stability.

Abstract

This study examines the mediating role of Brand Image in the relationship between Celebrity Endorsers, Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM), and purchasing decisions among Generation Z consumers of MS GLOW skincare products in Semarang, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative approach with twenty measurement indicators across four constructs and using an accidental sampling technique, the study investigates how different communication sources influence Gen Z consumers’ perceptions and purchase behavior in the local skincare market. The findings reveal that Celebrity Endorsers neither significantly shape Brand Image nor directly influence purchasing decisions, indicating that celebrity-based persuasion has limited effectiveness for this consumer segment. In contrast, E-WOM exerts a positive and significant effect on both Brand Image and purchasing decisions, underscoring the importance of peer-generated information in building trust and guiding consumer choice. Brand Image is also found to significantly influence purchasing decisions and partially mediate the relationship between E-WOM and purchase behavior, while no mediating effect is observed in the relationship between Celebrity Endorsers and purchasing decisions. These results empirically demonstrate that, within the context of Gen Z skincare consumption in Semarang, peer communication plays a more decisive role than celebrity endorsement. Theoretically, this study refines branding and consumer behavior literature by clarifying the differentiated influence pathways of E-WOM and endorsement cues. Practically, the findings suggest that skincare brands targeting Gen Z should prioritize peer-based digital engagement strategies over celebrity-driven promotion.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of customer experience on purchase decisions, with customer engagement as a mediating variable in digital e-commerce platforms. Increasing competition in the e-commerce sector has shifted managerial focus toward experiential and relational factors influencing consumer decision-making. A quantitative approach was employed using survey data collected from e-commerce users through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The results show that customer experience has a significant positive effect on both customer engagement and purchase decisions. Customer engagement also significantly mediates the relationship, indicating that improved experiences enhance purchasing outcomes indirectly through stronger engagement. However, the moderating effect between the variables is not statistically significant. The model demonstrates satisfactory explanatory power, indicating its robustness in explaining consumer behavior in digital platforms. These findings emphasize the importance of designing effective experience-based strategies to strengthen engagement and drive purchasing outcomes. This study provides practical insights for e-commerce managers and contributes to the literature on digital marketing and consumer behavior.

Abstract

This study employs a quantitative, cross-sectional explanatory design to assess whether boycott appeals against Israel-affiliated products translate into interest in purchasing local products in Indonesia. Data were collected through an online, closed-ended Likert-scale survey distributed via Google Forms using snowball sampling among adult consumers aware of boycott campaigns. The model was estimated using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with reliability/validity assessment and bootstrapping (5,000 resamples). Results indicate that boycott campaign intensity does not significantly predict boycott intention or buy-local interest, while attitudes and subjective norms increase boycott intention but do not strengthen buy-local interest (attitude shows a negative direct effect). Animosity significantly increases both boycott intention and buy-local interest, whereas boycott intention does not significantly predict buy-local interest and does not mediate antecedent effects. The findings imply that effective “buy local” outcomes require credible moral-emotional framing and accessible substitutes beyond exposure-driven campaigning.

Abstract

World Osteoporosis Day (WOD) is celebrated on October 20 every year, to raise global awareness about the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of osteoporosis. Urgency in Indonesia, the number of elderly people is projected to reach 71 million people in 2050, which will have an impact on increasing cases of osteoporosis. Therefore, the recommendations based on scientific evidence in this study aim to assist practitioners in preventing osteoporosis in adults and children. This study proposes a method of Improving K-Means Performance through Seeds. The performance of the K-Means clustering algorithm is highly dependent on the random selection of initial centroids, which can lead to unstable clusters, suboptimal local solutions, and increased iterations, particularly in medical datasets such as osteoporosis diagnosis based on family history. Therefore, there is a need for an optimized centroid initialization strategy that can improve clustering accuracy and stability without increasing computational complexity. The dataset used is the osteoporosis dataset as a testing dataset that can be accessed publicly Osteoporosis dataset. The novelty of this study lies in the introduction of Modified Average (MA) approach for centroid initialization, which eliminates random seed dependency and improves clustering stability without increasing computational complexity. From the results of nine experiments with the benchmarking dataset, it can be seen that the method proposed in this study indicates that practically the Proposed method has a tendency to perform better in Rand Index measurement compare to k-means in random seeds.

Abstract

This study seeks to understand the impact of work, and thus analyze how goal setting can lead to work-life outcomes, as a productive transformation. This is significant because post-COVID adjustments in work modes and rhythms, along with shifts in international competitive conditions, are bringing greater economic pressures to the workplace. For businesses, this means that employee satisfaction with their jobs must remain high if strong worker productivity is to be maintained. This, in turn, leads to increased employee and department loyalty, which can expand their recruitment capabilities. This study adopted a quantitative research paradigm and followed an exploratory survey framework. Primary data were collected by administering a Likert-scale questionnaire to 120 randomly selected employees from various parts of PT XYZ. Data analysis was conducted using a Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The researchers found that the magnitude of rewards had a positive influence on job satisfaction of PT XYZ employees. Rewards, particularly those given in the form of performance-based bonuses and additional regular salary, directly resulted in excellent job satisfaction ratings. At the same time, in partial testing, the work environment and career development both failed to show a significant impact on job satisfaction. This research is limited because the data comes from only one company and is based on staff questionnaires. These findings are important for PT XYZ, which must replace its current three-tier incentive system with a simpler and more transparent performance-based system to improve job satisfaction and reduce staff turnover, or remain as is and see its competitiveness in the future.

Abstract

Organic food consumption has grown alongside increasing consumer concern for health, environmental sustainability, and ethical responsibility. Yet favorable attitudes do not consistently translate into actual purchasing behavior, indicating that the intention–behavior gap in this domain cannot be explained by rational evaluations alone. This study conducts a systematic literature review to develop an integrative psychological explanation of how emotion, green altruism, and psychological distance shape organic food consumption. Following PRISMA 2020, the review analyzed 35 peer-reviewed articles indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect and published between 2015 and 2025. The findings show that emotional mechanisms, particularly anticipated pride, guilt, and emotional attachment, commonly strengthen purchase intention by increasing perceived personal relevance, moral meaning, and self-consistency. Green altruism supports organic food consumption by framing it as an environmentally and socially responsible act, although its influence varies across contexts, consumer segments, and product categories. The reviewed evidence further indicates that psychological distance functions mainly as a framing and moderating mechanism that shapes whether emotional and altruistic motives are perceived as immediate, concrete, and behaviorally actionable. Across the reviewed studies, emotional and moral mechanisms more consistently predict intention than repeated purchase behavior, while trust, norms, and message framing help explain empirical inconsistencies. Overall, this review advances an integrative framework for explaining organic food consumption beyond rational choice and provides directions for future research on sustainable consumption behavior.
