Abstract

This study aims to explore Improvement of Eighth Grade Students' Scientific Thinking Skills Using Multirepresentation-Based E-Module in Science Subjects: Vibrations, Waves, and Light. The research design employed was the ADDIE model with five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The study sample consisted of one class, specifically Grade VIII D, which utilized multirepresentation-based e-modules in IPA, comprising 34 students (18 females and 16 males). Data collection included pre- and post-treatment assessments of conceptual mastery and application abilities using tests. Data analysis utilized the N-Gain test to compare the average score improvements before and after employing multirepresentation-based e-modules in IPA. The results indicate that the use of multirepresentation-based e-modules significantly enhances students' scientific thinking abilities in understanding concepts related to vibrations, waves, and light. These findings suggest that employing multirepresentation approaches within e-module technology can effectively enhance science learning at the middle school level.

Abstract

The aims of this research are: (1) to describe learning to write poetry without using interactive learning media based on the Kompasiana platform, (2) to describe learning to write poetry using interactive learning media based on the Kompasiana platform, and (3) to test the effect of interactive learning media based on the Kompasiana platform in writing poetry in the Independent Curriculum Class XI SMA Negeri 1 Bulakamba. This research uses a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods, especially the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Data was collected using test and non-test instruments. The research results showed that: (1) in the control class, the lowest pretest score was 55 and the highest was 80 with an average of 66.00. The lowest posttest score was 65 and the highest was 85 with an average of 71.60; (2) in the experimental class, the lowest pretest score was 55 and the highest was 75 with an average of 66.80. The lowest posttest score was 70 and the highest was 95 with an average of 80.80; (3) The influence test shows that interactive learning media based on the Kompasiana platform significantly influences the ability to write poetry in the Merdeka Curriculum in class XI of SMA Negeri 1 Bulakamba. The t test results show a significant difference between the posttest results of the control and experimental classes with a calculated t value of 5.365 and a t table of 1.714, which shows t calculated > t table at the 95% confidence level. Therefore, interactive learning media based on the Kompasiana platform is effective in improving the ability to write poetry in the Merdeka Curriculum in class XI of SMA Negeri 1 Bulakamba.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the multimedia utilization and sermon themes on the spirituality of Christian adolescents at GMIM Sentrum Airmadidi. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The sampling technique used is probability sampling with purposive sampling. The findings showed that there was an influence of Multimedia Utilization (X1) on Christian Adolescent Spirituality (Y). This is based on the results of the t-test which states that the t-count value is 2,138 ≥ 2,042, while the significance value is 0.040 ≤ 0.05. However, the influence of Multimedia Utilization on Christian Adolescent Spirituality is negative. This can be seen from the regression equation Y = 44.833 + -0.94, meaning that for every 1% increase in the value of the variable, the value of the Christian Adolescent Spirituality variable will decrease by 0.94. Other test results also showed that there was an influence of the Sermon Theme (X2) on the Spirituality of Christian Adolescents (Y). This is evidenced by the results of the t-test which shows that the t-count value is 3.784 ≥ 2.042, while the significance value is 0.001 ≤ 0.05, with the regression equation Y = 44.833 + 0.643 (positive effect). This means that for every 1% increase in the value of the Sermon Theme, the value of the Christian Adolescemt Spirituality will increase by 0.643. Other findings also stated that based on the results of the f-test, it was found that the f-count value was 7.047 ≥ 3.32, while the significance value was 0.003 ≤ 0.05, this shows that the variables of Multimedia Utilization and Sermon Theme together have a positive and significant effect on the variable of Christian Adolescent Spirituality. The magnitude of the influence is 0.320 or 32%. While the remaining 68% was influenced by other factors that were not studied.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of implementing Lecture-Based Learning and Inquiry-Based Learning methods on the Writing and Reading scores of the TOEFL-IBT. The research adopts a quantitative approach and employs an associative research design. A sample of 40 participants was selected using purposive sampling from the population of students at Universitas Kristen Immanuel, subsequently divided into two classes that utilized different teaching methods. Data, consisting of Writing and Reading scores, were collected through TOEFL-IBT test results from the two classes, each employing a distinct learning method. The data were then analyzed using both multivariate and univariate MANOVA tests. The findings indicate a significant difference in Writing and Reading scores between the two classes that applied Lecture-Based Learning and Inquiry-Based Learning methods. While the applied methods had a simultaneous effect on Writing and Reading scores, the distinct methods exhibited a more pronounced influence on Writing scores compared to Reading scores in the TOEFL-IBT assessment.

Abstract

Early childhood is a critical period of rapid growth and development, during which children can easily capture adult cues. In early childhood education, children aged 0-8 years are classified as young children, each with unique potential that requires a supportive environment to maximize. Among the six domains of development highlighted in early childhood education standards are physical motor skills, which include both fine and gross motor skills. These skills are foundational and should be carefully cultivated as they relate to the child’s overall physical and behavioral development. In early childhood education settings, physical motor development is particularly important, with fine motor skills involving small muscle coordination and gross motor skills involving larger muscle movements. Developing motor skills through engaging activities, such as games, physical exercises, and multimedia resources, helps children gain coordination, strength, and balance. Animated video learning media is a promising tool for stimulating motor skill development as it captures children’s attention and motivates them to move. Previous research indicates that interactive media, including animations, can enhance children’s motor coordination and overall engagement in physical activities. This study, conducted at TK Ar-Rahim 1, Simpang Tiga, Kaur Utara, explores the influence of animated video learning media on the gross motor skill development of early childhood students. Initial observations revealed limited use of engaging learning media due to constraints in resources and teacher creativity. Through analyzing the effects of animated video media on motor skills, this research seeks to provide insights into its potential benefits and to contribute to early childhood education practices that support optimal motor development.

Abstract

This classroom action research was carried out with the aim of finding out the improvement in learning outcomes of basic dribbling techniques in the game of basketball among class From the results of the research carried out, there was an increase in student learning outcomes from the initial conditions of cycles I and II, both from an increase in the average value of learning basic dribbling techniques in the game of basketball and the completeness value of learning outcomes. In the initial conditions, only 15 students (65%) had completed the expected KKM, namely 75, while 5 students were still below the KKM. The increase in movement ability in learning basic dribbling techniques in basketball games through the CPDL method (lecture plus demonstration and practice), can be seen from the KKM score (75) after taking action in cycle I, the student's completed learning score was 15 out of 20 (65%) and in cycle II, 20 out of 20 students completed the total or 100% completion.
