Abstract

Food security crises and energy shortages are becoming increasingly pressing global challenges, exacerbated by rapid population growth and inexorable climate change. Land use conflicts, inefficiencies in food and energy systems, and impacts on biodiversity require breakthrough approaches for sustainable solutions. This research aims to investigate innovative solutions and policy interventions that can support sustainable development in overcoming this crisis. The research was conducted through a descriptive qualitative approach, with data obtained from relevant previous studies, and data analysis was carried out to identify patterns and potential solutions. The results of this research find that agricultural and energy policy reform, increased investment in clean technologies, strong international cooperation, and public education and awareness are the keys to achieving food and energy security. Innovations in sustainable agricultural technology and the development of renewable energy have proven vital in reducing dependence on fossil fuels and minimizing environmental impacts. Efficient management of water resources and food and energy systems that operate in a circular model is also important to maximize efficiency and reduce waste. Through the implementation of these strategies, global society can move towards more sustainable development, ensuring access to food and energy for all.

Abstract

This study explores the imperative need for comprehensive criminal law reform to enhance the efficacy of the justice system in combating crime. As societies evolve, so do the complexities of criminal activities, necessitating a reevaluation of legal frameworks to address emerging challenges. The current legal landscape often proves inadequate in addressing the dynamic nature of criminal behavior, resulting in inefficiencies in crime prevention, investigation, and prosecution. The research investigates key areas of reform, including the modernization of outdated statutes, the incorporation of advanced technologies in crime detection and evidence gathering, and the implementation of evidence-based sentencing practices. By examining successful models from jurisdictions that have already undergone significant legal reforms, this study aims to identify best practices that can be adapted and integrated into existing legal systems. Furthermore, the research considers the socio-economic factors influencing criminal behavior, advocating for a holistic approach that combines legal reforms with social interventions. Such an approach seeks to address root causes of criminality, offering a more sustainable and effective strategy for crime reduction. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing legal frameworks, case studies, and sociological data, this study contributes valuable insights to the ongoing discourse on criminal justice reform. The findings aim to inform policymakers, legal practitioners, and the public, fostering a nuanced understanding of the multifaceted challenges associated with contemporary crime and the necessary steps for a more effective and equitable justice system.

Abstract

This writing aims to analyze the occurrence of changes in the understanding of the community and the shift in language of some recitations of the Quran and Hadith from the perspective of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh). Understanding religion cannot be separated from the issue of language shift because the fundamental sources of Islamic teachings are the Quran and Hadith, both of which are in Arabic. The translation of verses from the Quran and Hadith into the Indonesian language is not without uncertainties. For example, the change in understanding of the word "telapak tangan" (palm of the hand) as a translation of the Arabic term "kaff," which excludes the back part of the palm, leading to difficulties in practice. This study is a literature review, and data collection and analysis were conducted using this method. Changes in the community's understanding of these words can be observed in the everyday practices of the community (observation). The results of the study indicate that one of the changes in the community's understanding is the shift from the term "kaff" to "telapak tangan." Its influence can be seen in the understanding and application of the boundaries of the female aurah (parts to be covered) and the attire during ihram. Based on Hadith, most people consider the boundaries of a woman's aurah to be everything except the face and both palms. In fiqh, it is mentioned that a woman in ihram is prohibited from covering her face and both palms. This understanding and practice differ from what is intended in the Hadith and fiqh texts.
