Abstract

Sigmund Freud is the most influential figure in the world of psychology, especially in the field of personality psychology. Freud's psychoanalysis consists of 2 basic theses that force people to rethink the intellectual, aesthetic, and moral beliefs that developed in their time. First, psychoanalysts believe that most of human life is influenced by the subconscious. This thesis overhauled the old view that mental activity is always conscious. The second thesis of psychoanalysis is that instinctive impulses, especially sexual impulses, play a very important role in human life and are the cause of various anxiety and mental disorders. However, instinct is not something that is always negative because instinct is a source of energy for human personal development. Freud's theories are based on these two basic theses including his theories of God and religion. This paper seeks to briefly explain the views of Sigmund Freud that influenced later psychological concepts as well as the world of philosophy and medicine.

Abstract

The current technological advances are indeed something to be grateful for, even though they can also cause various problems. One area facing such challenges is the rapid development of educational tools that use artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and similar platforms. Although these tools can help improve the learning process, there are also risks if they are used improperly. Additionally, we should be grateful that many students in Indonesia still uphold academic integrity. This is evident from the ease of finding participants for this study, which aims to uncover the psychological and social factors that encourage ethical behavior. This study uses the Theory of Planned Behavior to investigate the extent to which Attitudes Toward Behavior (ATB), Subjective Norms (SN), and Perceived Behavioral Control (PBC) influence a student's Behavioral Intentions (BI), as well as how those intentions translate into Actual Behavior (AB). Using a purposive sampling method involving 300 students from various regions in Indonesia, the data were analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS software. The results of the study show that ATB, SN, and PBC each have a positive and significant influence on BI, which then strongly predicts AB. These findings can help to better understand the mechanisms behind academic honesty and provide practical suggestions for designing programs that strengthen ethical behavior in an increasingly digital learning environment.

Abstract

Intercultural communication has become a central component of Maritime English (ME) due to the increasing multicultural composition of ship crews and the safety-critical nature of communication at sea. While the Standard Marine Communication Phrases (SMCP) provide a foundational linguistic framework, effective shipboard interaction requires broader intercultural communicative competence (ICC), including pragmatic adaptation, negotiation strategies, and the ability to interpret diverse accents and hierarchical norms. Existing literature notes limitations in traditional ME instruction, particularly in seafarer-supplying nations such as Indonesia, where teaching remains focused on grammar and phrase memorization with limited exposure to authentic intercultural interactions. This study investigates the ICC of Indonesian cadets through a convergent mixed-methods design integrating an adapted Intercultural Sensitivity Scale, simulation-based communicative tasks, and semi-structured interviews. A total of 120 cadets participated in routine and emergency maritime simulations designed to elicit pragmatic strategies, clarity, and communication repair behaviours. Quantitative findings reveal significant post-simulation improvements in interaction confidence, attentiveness, and engagement. Qualitative analysis further identifies recurring challenges in pragmatic appropriateness, accent intelligibility, and communication anxiety, yet demonstrates the role of simulation-enhanced training in fostering communicative adaptability and reducing hesitation in multicultural scenarios. The study contributes empirical evidence on ICC development in maritime education and highlights the need to integrate intercultural and simulation-based pedagogy into Maritime English curricula. Recommendations are offered for curriculum designers, instructors, and policymakers to strengthen cadets’ readiness for multinational shipboard environments and align training with contemporary safety and communication demands in global shipping.

Abstract

EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts are increasingly used in large infrastructure projects in Indonesia due to their efficiency and clear division of responsibilities (Federation Internationale des Ingenieurs-Conseils [FIDIC], 2017). However, this contract is rooted in a Common Law system that is different from Indonesia's national legal system which adheres to Civil Law (Subekti, 2019; Satrio, 2021). This study aims to analyze the extent to which the Indonesian Civil Law system is able to maintain its legal sovereignty in the implementation of FIDIC Silver Book-based EPC contracts, as well as identify legal challenges that arise due to differences in legal principles. The method used is a normative juridical approach combined with conceptual and comparative analysis of the provisions of the Civil Code (1847), Law Number 2 of 2017 concerning Construction Services (Law of the Republic of Indonesia, 2017), and risk allocation and dispute resolution clauses in the FIDIC Conditions of Contract (FIDIC, 2017). The results of the study show that there are fundamental differences in the principle of risk sharing and dispute resolution mechanisms between the Common Law and Civil Law systems. Several clauses in FIDIC require harmonization to be in line with the principles of justice, legal certainty, and proportionality that apply in national law (Hidayat, 2021; Osei, 2022). This research contributes to strengthening academic and practical understanding of the harmonization between international contracts and national law. These findings are expected to be a conceptual basis for the development of adaptive construction legal norms while maintaining Indonesia's legal sovereignty (Lubis, 2020; Klee, 2021).

Abstract

Urbanization, globalization, and the intensification of cultural tourism have placed Betawi cultural arts in a vulnerable position amid changes in meaning, commodification, and shifts in aesthetic values. This study aims to explain how cultural aesthetics are mediated as a resilience strategy through representational practices in the Betawi Cultural Village (PBB) Setu Babakan. Using a phenomenological approach and representation theory, it examines how aesthetic experiences—in visual, narrative, and ritual forms—are created, negotiated, and interpreted by cultural actors, including government officials, local communities, and tourists. The analysis was conducted through field observations, in-depth interviews, visual documentation, and hermeneutic interpretations based on Bourdieu's theory of habitus, cultural capital, and the arena of cultural production. The results show that aesthetic mediation functions as a connecting mechanism between traditional values and the demands of the tourism industry, yielding three main processes: creative reproduction, representational transformation, and authenticity negotiation. These processes enable Betawi culture to survive and adapt without losing its essential dimensions of meaning. The findings contribute to the development of cultural tourism studies, cultural communication design, and representation theory in the context of Indonesian urban society.

Abstract

Mining schemes are often promised to bring prosperity and progress, but on the other hand, mining activities that encroach on most of Indonesia's landscape cause environmental pollution, ecological degradation, and social crises that worsen Indonesia's condition. This study analyzes public responses to nickel mining in Raja Ampat through netizen comments on the Kompas.com YouTube platform. This research uses exploratory computational content analysis (CATA) with Voyant tools. The data comes from comments on 58 Kompas.com YouTube videos with titles related to "Raja Ampat Nickel Mining." Data scraping was performed using JavaScript on June 28 2025, yielding 8,422 comments. This study presents netizen discussions through Word Cloud, Corpus Collocates, co-occurrence, and KWIC analysis. The results of the study reveal that the most frequently appearing corpus in this issue is about environmental damage and its impact on local communities. Through computational content analysis, words such as "nature," "people," and "destroy" describe netizens' concerns about the consequences of nickel mining in ecologically valuable areas such as Raja Ampat. Future researchers may consider several things, such as expanding the data collected from other social media platforms to enrich the data and understanding of public opinion on this issue in the digital space. Subsequent researchers could also conduct qualitative research, such as interviews. with relevant parties, to provide in-depth information on mining issues. Future research could focus on similar issues in other regions facing problems related to mining and sustainability.

Abstract

Wedang ginger is a traditional Indonesian beverage rich in health benefits; however, in Grendeng Pulo Karawaci Village, Tangerang Regency, its production is still limited to hot form, which is less appealing to young consumers. The main problems include limited product innovation, overly spicy ginger flavor, rapid loss of aroma due to traditional extraction techniques, and a shelf life of less than 3 days in a humid tropical climate, which risks contamination and a decline in hygienic quality. This research aims to develop wedang ginger cold brew as an innovation in fresh non-alcoholic beverages, through a cold extraction process (cold brew) to produce a mild flavor, long-lasting aroma, and shelf life of up to 11 days. The implementation method is participatory, including problem identification through observation, cold brew production prototypes (soak ginger for 12-24 hours at room temperature, refrigerate for 5 days, strain, and adjust flavor), educational workshops, as well as sensory evaluation and pre-post questionnaires. This innovation also includes product variations such as ginger basil lemon, ginger cold brew milk, and others to enhance appeal. The expected outcomes are that 100% of workshop participants can independently adopt the cold brew method, a minimum product shelf life of 7-11 days, and an increase in young consumer interest by 70%. The benefits of the research include village economic empowerment through diversification of herbal non-alcoholic beverage businesses, preservation of local culture, and contributions to public health with natural, hygienic products

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Service Quality, Physical Environment, and Medical Staff Kindness & Consideration on Patient Loyalty with Patient Satisfaction as a mediating variable at the General Hospital of Serui (RSUD Serui). The study employs a quantitative approach with a sample of 160 patients selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results indicate that Service Quality, Medical Staff Kindness & Consideration, and Physical Environment have a positive and significant effect on Patient Satisfaction. Furthermore, Patient Satisfaction mediates the relationship between these variables and Patient Loyalty. Specifically, improvements in service quality, the friendly and attentive behavior of medical staff, and a comfortable and clean physical environment significantly contribute to enhancing patient satisfaction, which in turn strengthens their loyalty to the hospital. The implications of this study suggest that RSUD Serui should focus on improving service quality, providing communication and empathy training for medical staff, and enhancing physical facilities to create a positive patient experience. This study provides strategic insights for the management of RSUD Serui to strengthen patient loyalty through satisfaction derived from service quality, physical environment, and positive staff interactions. Managerial implications from this study indicate that the management of RSUD Serui should pay more attention to improving service quality, the comfort of facilities, and the empathy of medical staff to increase patient satisfaction and loyalty. Training in communication and empathy for medical staff, improving ventilation systems and cleanliness of facilities, and utilizing technology for administrative efficiency are strategic steps that can strengthen long-term relationships with patients.

Abstract

This study aims to examine, analyze, and develop the effect of intellectual capital and corporate governance on firm value, with profitability as a moderating variable. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique from a population of the 35 coal mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This resulted in a sample of 24 companies over a 4 year research period, totaling 96 data observations used in this study. This research employs a quantitative descriptive method. Hypothesis testing in this research utilizes Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) and classical assumption tests using Eviews 12 application. The results indicate that intellectual capital and corporate governance does not significant effect on firm value. However, profitability as a moderation variable does not strengthen the influence of intellectual capital and corporate governance on firm value.

Abstract

The Girls Support Girls movement on TikTok initially emerged as a form of inclusive solidarity among women but has shifted toward selective and conditional support. This study aims to understand the forms of female support, the meaning of conditional support, and the factors causing the decline of female solidarity in the Girls Support Girls movement on TikTok from the perspective of young women. This research employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive phenomenological method. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with four female participants aged 19–25 years who actively use TikTok and have experience interacting with content related to the Girls Support Girls movement. The findings reveal three main results: (1) support among women on TikTok most often appears in the form of positive validation, encouragement, and defense; (2) such support is perceived as selective and conditional, depending on appearance, social norms, and specific situations; and (3) female solidarity easily fades due to insecurity, competition, and pressure from beauty standards that transform relationships among women into social comparisons. This study confirms that although Girls Support Girls is understood as emotional support among women, its practice is heavily influenced by the social context on TikTok, where validation, social judgment, and aesthetic pressure become the main factors shaping support dynamics.
