Abstract

Mojokerto, as a key economic center in East Java, faces increasing demands for reliable and efficient road infrastructure to support its economic growth and regional connectivity. The lack of adequate retaining walls along the Bendung-Bantengan road section has resulted in significant road damages, including cracks and subsidence, which pose risks to road users and increase maintenance costs. This study investigates the application of Value Engineering (VE) as a strategic method to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of retaining wall construction in the area. Using secondary data from topographic surveys and triaxial soil tests, the study evaluates various design alternatives to identify cost savings, stability improvements, and impacts on project duration. The results demonstrate that adopting VE (Alternative 1) reduces construction costs by IDR 284,244,698 through optimized structural dimensions, while maintaining quality and stability standards. Additionally, the project completion period is shortened to 121 days, offering a faster turnaround compared to the initially planned six-month schedule. The findings emphasize VE's potential to optimize material use, minimize waste, and achieve environmental sustainability by reducing carbon emissions during construction. Moreover, VE enables enhanced collaboration among stakeholders, including consultants and contractors, to develop effective and efficient solutions for infrastructure challenges. This research underscores the importance of integrating VE during the planning stages of infrastructure projects, particularly in areas with high erosion risks. By applying VE principles, the Bendung-Bantengan retaining wall project not only meets safety and quality requirements but also contributes to long-term infrastructure resilience and economic efficiency in Mojokerto.

Abstract

This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to analyze inconsistencies and developments in ownership structure and board characteristics concerning sustainability reporting. Sustainability reporting has emerged as a pivotal tool for corporations to showcase their economic, social, and environmental responsibilities. However, significant discrepancies exist in the relationship between ownership structures, board attributes, and the quality of sustainability disclosures globally. Drawing upon 37 relevant articles published between 2015 and 2024, this research identifies critical trends and gaps. Ownership structures, including foreign, institutional, and family ownership, show varied impacts on sustainability reporting across developed, developing, and mixed-economy countries. For instance, foreign ownership often drives transparency in developing nations due to external pressures, while governmental ownership exhibits mixed effects depending on regulatory and market dynamics. Similarly, board characteristics like gender diversity, independence, and the presence of sustainability committees significantly influence the quality of sustainability disclosures. These relationships, however, are subject to regional governance maturity and cultural norms. The study highlights the dominance of quantitative methodologies in existing literature, with limited exploration of mixed-method approaches. Findings also reveal that inconsistencies in results are rooted in differences in regulatory environments, market pressures, and cultural expectations. Developed nations exhibit greater adherence to stringent sustainability standards, while developing countries face challenges in harmonizing local priorities with global frameworks. By addressing these inconsistencies, this research contributes to advancing the understanding of ownership and governance dynamics in sustainability reporting. It also underscores the need for globally harmonized reporting standards to ensure consistent, high-quality sustainability practices.

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) emerged as a prominent concept in the 1990s, garnering attention from academics, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and business practitioners. Initially, CSR focused on corporate accountability to shareholders but later expanded to include broader responsibilities to stakeholders, such as employees, consumers, suppliers, communities, and environmental constituents. In Indonesia, the legal framework for CSR is established under Law Number 25 of 2007 on Investment and Law Number 40 of 2007 on Limited Liability Companies, transforming CSR from a moral obligation into a legal mandate. This shift has sparked debates concerning the conceptual and practical aspects of CSR. However, fulfilling CSR obligations, both legal and social, positively impacts a company's existence in society. Companies adhering to these obligations are perceived more favorably, enhancing their corporate image and long-term sustainability. This study examines the implementation of CSR through the lens of business ethics and legal norms, highlighting its role in reinforcing corporate existence in the community.

Abstract

The development of air transportation infrastructure, especially airports, plays an important role in improving connectivity, mobility, and economic and social growth. Estimating construction costs is an essential step in the development planning process to ensure proper budget allocation. This study aims to develop a special construction cost estimation model for airport construction by analyzing various variables that affect costs. The research uses a quantitative approach with primary data obtained from airport building construction work contracts and interviews with professional practitioners in this field. Sample data was taken from 22 output reports of airport construction work packages that have been completed or are being planned in several provinces in Indonesia. Data analysis techniques include correlation coefficient tests, determination, normality tests, multicollinearity tests, as well as t-tests and model variations. The results of the study are expected to produce an accurate, easy-to-use, and accountable cost estimation model, taking into account independent variables such as job characteristics, contract types, and market conditions. This estimation model is expected to be able to minimize the discrepancy between cost estimates and the realization of implementation costs, thereby contributing to the efficiency and sustainability of airport development. This research provides a scientific basis for decision-making related to the management of the construction budget for airport development in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the food habits of green lobsters (Panulirus Homarus) when fed with natural feed rich in calcium and phosphorus, and to assess their growth performance, survival rate, and water quality in relation to different feeding treatments. The research was conducted in 2024 at the Marine Station of Pangandaran University, located in Pangandaran Regency. The study utilized a Complete Random Design (RAL) with four different feeding treatments over 6 x 10 days: A (80% anchovy feeding), B (100% anchovy feeding), C (80% rebon feeding), and D (100% rebon feeding). The parameters observed include Growth Rate based on Length (LPP) and Weight (LPB), Survival Rate (SR), and Water Quality. Additionally, natural feed habits were monitored using the AI Smart Lobster Culture version 1. The results showed that lobsters fed with 100% anchovy and rebon (treatments B and D) exhibited the highest weight increase, with values of 61.4 and 65.1, respectively, while treatments A and C showed no significant differences. The Survival Rate (SR) across all treatments (A, B, C, and D) was excellent, with an SR of 96%. The findings indicate that both anchovy and rebon, rich in calcium and phosphorus, are effective in supporting lobster growth and survival. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that feeding green lobsters with 100% calcium and phosphorus-rich feed, such as anchovies and rebon, promotes optimal growth and survival, highlighting the importance of feed composition in lobster culture.

Abstract

This paper explores the theological framework of Maturidiyah and its compatibility with the Shafi’i school of thought, focusing on ways to bridge the understanding and acceptance of Maturidiyah principles among Shafi’i adherents. Both theological traditions share a Sunni foundation, yet they differ on key issues such as the role of reason in faith, the concept of divine attributes, and the interplay between predestination (qadar) and free will. The study emphasizes the importance of highlighting shared values, such as the commitment to Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah and the balance between textual evidence (naql) and rational inquiry (aql). It argues that Maturidiyah theology’s rational approach to faith and its nuanced view of divine justice and human agency can enrich the spiritual and intellectual framework of Shafi’i believers without undermining their core principles. Through historical analysis and comparative theology, the paper provides strategies for presenting Maturidiyah as a complementary perspective rather than a conflicting one. Practical recommendations include inter-school dialogues, educational programs, and mentorship initiatives led by scholars grounded in both traditions. Ultimately, the paper underscores the significance of fostering unity and mutual understanding in addressing contemporary challenges faced by the Muslim community.
