Abstract

This research aims to identify factors that have the potential to influence the learning outcomes and nutritional knowledge of students majoring in PKK Culinary Arts at Manado State University. Students in this major are expected to have a deep understanding of culinary and nutrition, so their learning outcomes are crucial in determining the quality of graduates. Through an approach, this research method uses a quantitative approach with survey techniques using a structured questionnaire. The research sample will be randomly selected from active semester students in the PKK Culinary Management Department, Manado State University. The data obtained will be analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. Factors considered include educational background, motivation, study habits, access to learning resources and nutritional information, and other environmental factors. The factors that will be studied include internal variables, such as learning motivation, lecture attendance, and independent study time, and external variables, such as family support, learning facilities, and social environment. Apart from that, this research will also measure students' level of nutritional knowledge and relate it to their learning outcomes. This research has the potential to provide an in-depth understanding of the relationship between various factors and learning outcomes and nutritional knowledge of students majoring in PKK Culinary Arts. It is hoped that the research findings can provide valuable input for curriculum development, learning strategies, and the provision of more effective educational resources in the Manado State University PKK Culinary Educational environment. Thus, it is hoped that this research can contribute to improving the quality of education and understanding of nutrition among PKK Culinary Arts students and society in general.

Abstract

This research aims to measure students' performance from the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) in Category 1 Batch 2 Computer and Informatics Engineering at Manado State University in 2023 using the Rasch Model. The Rasch Model was chosen as a measurement method because it can provide a more accurate picture of individual student abilities, as well as identify the level of difficulty and differentiating power of each evaluation item. The research method involves collecting student performance data through various evaluation instruments, such as written exams, projects, and practical assignments. The collected data is then analyzed using the Rasch Model to evaluate the quality of the measurements and understand the extent to which the evaluation instrument can describe students' true abilities. The research results are expected to provide in-depth insight into the abilities of PPG students in Category 1 Batch 2 Computer Engineering and Informatics, as well as provide recommendations for improvements to the evaluation instruments used. Applying the Rasch Model in measuring student performance is expected to increase objectivity and accuracy in assessing students' abilities, which in turn can support improving the quality of education at Manado State University.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze: (1) the relationship between learning commitment and learning outcomes of Building Engineering Education students, Faculty of Engineering, Manado State University (PTB FT Unima), (2) the relationship between learning interest and learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students, and (3) the relationship between commitment to learning, and interest in learning simultaneously with the learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students. This research design is quantitative research with a survey approach. From the research results: 1) there is a relationship between learning commitment and learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students, and contributes 23.62%; 2) there is a relationship between interest in learning and learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students, and provides a contribution of 10.24%; 3) there is a relationship between commitment to learning and interest in learning simultaneously with the learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students, and provides a contribution of 23.72%. Thus, increasing commitment to learning and interest in learning is one of the factors supporting the learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students. The results imply that the higher the commitment to learning and interest in learning, the higher the learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students. This fact proves that commitment to learning and interest in learning simultaneously provide a significant relationship with the learning outcomes of PTB FT Unima students.

Abstract

This research aims to develop problem-based learning tools that empower students' thinking abilities in the In-service Teacher Professional Education Program at Unima. The learning tools developed consist of modules and LKPD for the Biology Learning Tool Development course. The development model used is the ADDIE development model consisting of four stages, namely 1) analysis, 2) design, 3) development, 4) implementation, and 5) evaluation. The results of the research are the feasibility of the learning tools which are seen based on the aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the learning tools. Next, to see the effectiveness of problem-based learning tools on thinking ability using One Group Pretest-Posttest Design which was implemented on 29 PPG Daljab Category 1 students, class 3 of 2023. The results of the research show that the learning tools are very valid with an assessment score interval between 3.5-4 and reliability between 95%-98%. The learning implementation is categorized as very good with an assessment score interval between 3.6-4 with an average reliability of 97%, the average readability level of the device based on the Gunning Fox index is 11 with medium criteria, the readability percentage of the learning device based on the readability sheet of the learning device is 97% and students provide a positive response to learning tools was 98%. The increase in students' cognitive learning outcomes can be seen from the average N-gain value for all students, namely 0.68 with medium criteria, classical completeness of 100%, and indicator completeness with an interval of 2.5-3.5. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that problem-based learning tools in the biology teaching tool development course are suitable for use to improve the thinking skills of students in the PPG Daljab Program at Unima.

Abstract

The importance of the relationship between mathematical literacy skills and higher-order thinking skills is in line with the 3 competencies needed in the 21st century. Mathematical literacy skills are very important for students to understand the function of mathematics in everyday life through the formulation, use, and interpretation of mathematics in various contexts. This research aims to analyze and describe the mathematical literacy abilities of elementary school students through diagnostic assessments based on metacognitive abilities at PPL PPG Daljab. The type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative with research subjects of 60 elementary school students who were reviewed through a diagnostic assessment based on metacognitive abilities. data collection through test results and questionnaire results. Data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing are carried out in data analysis. The research results obtained are that applying innovative learning models or methods can improve and develop the mathematical literacy skills of elementary school students, especially class V. So, teachers need to familiarize students with working on story problems, especially open-ended type story problems, and innovate in learning to motivate them. students to be actively and directly involved in the problem-solving process so that they can improve students mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

The dynamics of change cannot be avoided by any organization anywhere, including universities throughout Indonesia, of which De La Salle Manado Catholic University, abbreviated as UKDLSM, is a part. This research aims to: Know and describe the extent of UKDLSM strategic management, Know and describe the UKDLSM risk register, and Develop a strategic management model based on risk analysis and a balanced scorecard that can be implemented by universities. This research method is a case study. The research was carried out in 3 stages consisting of the research results stage on the three research problems, namely UKDLSM strategic management, risk analysis on UKDLSM, and UKDLSM strategic management based on risk analysis and balanced scorecard, then from the research results continued to the second stage, findings from the research results and then The third stage is a discussion of the research results and findings. The results of this research show that the management strategy used by De La Salle Catholic University Manado is a conventional model using conventional tools, namely SWOT (and assisted by IFE and EFE matrix analysis. The results of this research also show that it has not been implemented completely to the lowest level and every community member of UKDLSM academics. This research concludes that in formulating the strategic plan, the drafting team has not studied the complexity of the internal environment, the external environment, and the nature of the problems faced by UKDLSM.

Abstract

Difficulties in understanding the mathematical concepts that occur when students learn geometry, one of which is an abstract geometry concept that is not followed by effective learning as an effort to help students' understanding is the main problem in this study. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of technology-based geometry learning carried out by PPG Daljab students through the Project Base Learning model in elementary school students. This study uses a quantitative approach with the type of Quasi-Experimental Design research with the Nonequvalent Control Group Design form. The population in this study is all elementary school fifth students in the North Tomohon Cluster, Tomohon City totaling 62 students. The sampling technique used in this study was Pusposve Sampling which was taken by two schools with the same level of activity and learning achievement. The experimental class was SD Inpres Kakasasen Satu and SD Inpres Kayawu with 31 students, while the control class was SD Inpres Kakasasen Dua and SD Inpres Kakasasen Tiga with 31 students. Data collection techniques using the Geometry Understanding Test Instrument. The instrument validity test uses the Pearson Product Moment formula and the reliability test uses the Alpha-Cronbach formula. The hypothesis test in this study uses the T-test test. Based on the study's results, the Project Based Learning Model can be described effectively against technology-based geometry learning in elementary school students.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the leadership model in managing the Public Service Agency and the factors that hinder and support leadership in the management of the Public Service Agency at Universitas Negeri Manado (Unima). This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, in the form of research with a case study method or approach (Case Study) with 5 research subjects. The research results show that the leadership model used in managing the status of Public Service Agency State Universities is the Mapalus leadership model. The name Mapalus is used based on similarities with Unima's vision, namely Superior and Innovative Unima based on Mapalus. The mapalus leadership model is a leadership approach that prioritizes collaboration, open communication, and synergy between leaders and team members. In this model, leaders not only command from above, but also work together with team members to achieve common goals. Leaders with this leadership model build strong relationships with team members, understand their needs and potential, empower them to achieve optimal performance, and encourage active participation in decision making and create a positive and inclusive work environment. Factors that hinder leadership in managing the Public Service Agency at Unima include resistance of team members and staff to change, lack of understanding of the implications of change, uncertainty regarding changes in status, lack of support from stakeholders, resistance to existing organizational culture and lack of resources or facilities. adequate. On the other hand, factors that support leadership include open and effective communication, understanding a clear vision, involving team members and stakeholders in planning and implementation, organizational culture that supports collaboration and innovation, developing new leadership skills through training and collaboration, ensuring decisions and actions reflecting stakeholder expectations and needs, support from internal and external parties, evaluating the impact of policies and decisions through collecting feedback and analyzing performance data, effective communication in overcoming resistance to change and constructive conflict management.

Abstract

Study This aim to: analyze, describe, and explain about influence of the performance of employees’ facilities, and infrastructure in a way direct to motivation work and satisfaction of students at Manado State University as well influence performance employees and facilities and infrastructure to satisfaction student via motivation Work. Method study that is: approach quantitative with analysis path (path analysis), subject study consisting of 133 people from 12th semester Class of 2017 students in 7 Faculties. Results study show that 1) Employee performance (X1) has an effect positive and significant to Satisfaction Student (Y) with calculated t value 2.749 > 1.979 and p-value (0.007) smaller than 0.05. 2) Facilities and Infrastructure (X2) have an influence positive and significant to Satisfaction Student (Y) with a calculated t-value of 3,349 > 1.979 and p-value more (0.001) small from 0.05. 3) Employee performance (X1) has an influence positive and significant to Motivation Work (Z) with a calculated t-value of 4.838 > 1.979 and p-value (0.000) smaller than 0.05. 4) Facilities and Infrastructure (X2) have an influence positive and significant to Motivation Work (Z) with a calculated t-value of 5.413 > 1.979 and a p-value (0.000) smaller than 0.05. 5) Motivation Work (Z) has an effect positive and significant to Satisfaction Student (Y) with a calculated t-value of 4.453 > 1.979, and a p-value more (0.000) small from 0.05. 6) Employee performance (X1) has an influential significance on student satisfaction (Y) through work motivation (Z), with a p-value of more than 0.001 small from 0.05. 7) Facilities and Infrastructure (X2) have an influence significant on student satisfaction (Y) through work motivation (Z), with a p-value of more than 0.001 small from 0.05. With thereby Can withdraw the conclusion namely Employee Performance (X1) and Facilities and Infrastructure (X2). direct influence to Motivation Work (Z) and Satisfaction Student (Y) at Manado State University. Employee Performance (X1) and Facilities and Infrastructure (X2). No direct influence on Satisfaction Student (Y) at Manado State University via Motivation Work (Z).

Abstract

Quality management of learning in schools greatly affects student learning activities. The quality of school graduates is a reflection of a quality in the school. This study aims to obtain the results of descriptive analysis of a situation from three accredited schools in Manado City, namely Eben Haezar 1 Christian Middle School, Manado, Bosco Manado Brother Middle School and Manado 6 Public Middle School. This study uses a qualitative approach with the survey/ observation method. The population of this study was the Principal and several teachers from three accredited junior high schools (Eben Haezar 1 Christian Middle School, Don Bosco Middle School and Manado 6 Public Middle School) in Manado City, North Sulawesi Province. The sample method used is a random sample. The research data was collected by observation, interviews and documentation and then analyzed by a single analysis and cross -site analysis. Conclusion Based on the results of this study is the application of management functions (planning, organizing, implementing, supervising) in Eben Haezar 1 Christian Middle School, Don Bosco Brother Middle School and SMP Negeri 6 in Manado City.
