Abstract

The use of smartphones can significantly impact positive and negative users, especially among teenagers today, and teenagers still get much information via smartphones without adult supervision. This disrupts adolescent health and the growth of socialization abilities because of difficulties communicating with the environment; the child becomes irritable, and his knowledge does not develop. Middle school teenagers experience significant physical, social, and emotional changes, which will develop a stronger self-identity and require social interaction with society by frequently using smartphones in every social and other activity. This activity aims to provide understanding to teenagers to be more competent in using communication technology and change the mental habits of teenagers who depend on smartphones. The event was held at SMP IT Al Jawahir Sunggal, Deli Serdang, with 25 participants. This activity uses lecture, discussion, and test methods. Based on the pre-test and post-test presentation, the test score increased 56% after socialization, 36% was neutral, and 8% decreased after socialization.

Abstract

The background of this Community Service activity is that air and water pollution are serious issues in the city of Batu. The increase in the number of motor vehicles, industries, and urban growth has led to an increase in air pollution emissions, which can have a negative impact on air quality and the health of the local population. Meanwhile, water pollution from industrial and domestic waste can harm river ecosystems and vital water sources. Like other regions around the world, Batu city is facing the increasingly evident impacts of climate change. Rising temperatures, changes in rainfall patterns, and extreme weather can affect agriculture, food security, as well as the availability and quality of water. In the midst of these challenges, there is an urgent need to find sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions that can be widely adopted by the community. One solution is the use of eco-enzymes, a natural mixture that can be used in various aspects of daily life. The goal of this community service is the Development of an eco-enzyme program for community empowerment and waste reduction in Batu city. Community service activities can be an effective platform to address these challenges by actively involving the community in environmental conservation efforts. The partner community for this service is Sukorembug Village, Batu City. The results of the service are the community and the service team providing guidance on the development of an eco-enzyme program for community empowerment and waste reduction in Batu City, which includes the treatment of organic waste at the household or community level.

Abstract

Based on Law No. 20 of 2003, Article 1, regarding the national education system, it is stated that education should be conducted democratically, fairly, and without discrimination, while upholding human rights, religious values, cultural values, and the diversity of the nation. Additionally, Presidential Regulation No. 68 of 2022 concerning the Revitalization of Vocational Education and Vocational Training is also relevant.In light of these two regulations, there is a need for information about higher education institutions that can meet the criteria outlined in these regulations. Furthermore, there is a need for information about higher education institutions that are easily accessible, have relatively affordable tuition fees, offer relatively short education durations to facilitate quick graduation, and prepare students for the workforce by equipping them with practical skills during their education at PPI Curug, a vocational higher education institution. The proposed solution is to provide students of SMAN 3 with an understanding of the importance of acquiring competencies and skills to be job-ready through the dissemination of knowledge during socialization sessions. This will help students realize the value of applying the knowledge they gain at PPI Curug in their future careers. This Community Engagement Program (PKM) aims to introduce the Diploma III Program in Aeronautical Information Services, whose graduates will work in the field of aviation, providing flight information in the form of self-briefings, Notice To Airmen (NOTAM), Aeronautical Information Publications (AIP), and aeronautical charts/maps. It is hoped that through this explanation, PKM participants will be motivated and develop an interest in continuing their education at PPI Curug, especially in the Diploma III Program in Aeronautical Information Services. The activities have progressed smoothly, and there is a high level of interest among students from SMAN 3 Kabupaten Tangerang, as evidenced by the numerous questions raised during the sessions.

Abstract

The increasing use of information and communication technology (ICT) has played an important role in developing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in various sectors. While ICT has great potential to develop MSMEs, there are still challenges such as start-up costs, training, and information security that need to be overcome. However, with the right investment and a good strategy, MSMEs can leverage these technological advantages for growth and success. Sanan Tempe Chips SMEs often have limited resources, including funds, personnel, and technology infrastructure. Purchasing, developing, and maintaining financial applications require significant investment, which these SMEs have not been able to accommodate. This community service activity aims to provide practical solutions for Kripik Tempe Sanan SMEs through assistance in making simple sales applications using Microsoft Excel. Therefore, assistance in making simple sales applications using Microsoft Excel can be a viable alternative for MSMEs with limited resources to improve financial management and business competitiveness. The results of community service activities are able to improve efficiency in recording sales, inventory, and financial reporting of Kripik Tempe Sanan MSMEs. MSME owners and employees feel more confident in using this application after going through training and technical guidance.

Abstract

Bookkeeping is a very important part of running a business. There are many important benefits of bookkeeping for business development. By keeping neat and organized financial records, the business can avoid losses or even bankruptcy. Bookkeeping helps map the amount of profit/loss, identify every transaction made, and see the financial condition and taxation of the business that can be used as material for business assessment. Simple records are very influential on business development. Through bookkeeping, MSME owners can see the condition and development of the business, including the company's profits and losses. With this, bookkeeping can be used as a benchmark in designing future business strategies. The community service was held in Srengseng Village, West Jakarta, using the question and answer method. The results of this community service are expected that the participants will gain knowledge about the importance of bookkeeping in their business activities and can apply it in real life.

Abstract

The development of information technology plays a very important role in supporting work in all fields, including village government. Industrial technology has been applied in almost all village governments, to support the performance of the Village Head, Village Consultative Body and Village Apparatus/Apparatus. One of the software that can be used to support administrative activities is Microsoft Office which consists of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Microsoft Office software has many features, including the mail merge feature, but most of the features are still unfamiliar to use by Mekar Jaya village officials, Panongan District, Tangerang Regency, Banten, because they are still not used to using the tools available in Microsoft Office. Therefore, the Community Service team provided training on the use of the mail merge feature in Microsoft Office for correspondence for 20 Mekar Jaya village officials, Panongan District, Tangerang Regency, to increase the knowledge and skills of training participants regarding the use of the mail merge feature in Microsoft Office through lecture and discussion methods. and direct practice using a personal computer for each participant, guided by a team of competent lecturers and instructors. Based on the evaluation results, it show that after attending the training, the participants understood the material provided and were able to use the mail merge feature in making invitations, certificates, and correspondence. Participants' ability to use and utilize the mail merge feature is very necessary to improve their performance.

Abstract

Higher education faces new challenges in managing the rapid development of digital technology. One issue that requires attention is the on-time graduation rate of undergraduate students (S1). This research aims to develop and implement effective strategies in increasing the on-time undergraduate graduation rate in the digital era. The community service method is used as an approach in integrating theoretical approaches with practice in the field. This service involves collaboration between Dian Nusantara University, Pancasila University and Prof. University. Dr. Moestopo (Religious), students, and industry to design learning programs that are responsive to student needs in the digital era. The result of this service is the development of technology-based strategies that support online learning, personalized academic mentoring, and the use of data analytics to monitor student academic progress. The evaluation showed a significant increase in the on-time undergraduate graduation rate. The practical implication of this service is the adoption of strategies that have proven effective by other higher education institutions in mitigating the challenges of on-time graduation in the digital era.

Abstract

An Emergency Response Plan is an action that has been planned to minimize casualties and losses when a disaster occurs. Disasters that occur can include earthquakes, fires, floods, and even bomb threats that cannot be predicted when the disaster will occur. It is very important to implement ERP in public buildings, one of which is hotels. Indonesian Civil Aviation Polytechnic Curug, as a form of the Tri Darma of Higher Education, provides community service through Emergency Response Plan training. The aim of this activity is to provide training participants with knowledge regarding handling emergency situations. Participants consisted of 20 employees from several hotels in the Gading Serpong area. The result of this activity is an increase in knowledge of emergency response plans. Apart from that, the activity ran smoothly and could be categorized as very good based on the results of the questionnaire at the end of the training.

Abstract

The inadequate information among high school students towards the airport mechanical engineering (TMB) has urged the need to publicize TMB more extensively. One of the endeavors is to conduct activities introducing the clean water distribution system at the airport as an implementation of one of the competencies of the TMB, namely the Water Pumping System. The purpose of this activity is not only to attract the interest of participants to continue their education at PPI Curug, especially in the TMB but also to provide basic knowledge about clean water distribution. This activity was attended by students from SMK Penerbangan Dirgantara along with companion teachers. The activity was conducted using two methods: delivering the material in the classroom, followed by practical exercises in the Water Pumping System laboratory. The participants were then evaluated during working on a simulation project of clean water distribution. Through this community service activity, participants gained not only knowledge and information about the TMB and its competencies but also acquired knowledge and skills related to the clean water distribution system. They had the opportunity to directly practice and experience the clean water distribution system and the piping system.

Abstract

In recent years, drone technology has shown its role as a cutting-edge technology in aviation. Originally classified as a hobby, drones are now developing into an alternative solution for air transport. Activities to introduce drone technology to the public need to be carried out so that people can keep up with the development of aviation information and technology. Politeknik Penerbangan Indonesia Curug as the oldest aviation education institution in Indonesia introduced drone technology for photography to the younger generation as a concrete form of community service. This activity took place at the State Vocational High School 12 Tangerang Regency on 27 October 2023 and was attended by students from the Construction and Design Technology class. The class was chosen because of its relevance to the function of drones for photography. The introduction was carried out by explaining information about the types of drones, regulations and permits to operate drones starting from drone licences, drone pilot personnel licences, and permit procedures to the competent authorities.
