Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the understanding and preparedness of high school students and teachers by increasing students' capacity for disaster mitigation with Virtual Reality (VR)-based methods as educational media. The community service program was implemented at Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School High School using educational or socialization methods, the use of VR media for students, simulations and mentoring and evaluation of activities with 50 students. The results of the program implementation showed an increase in enthusiasm and active involvement of students in the learning process, an increase in students' basic understanding of the types of coastal disasters and appropriate mitigation steps, and an increase in students' capacity in utilizing technology-based learning media. With the results of the pretest and posttest on the students' answers to the first question, the increase in students' capacity regarding disasters, pretest 62% became a posttest result of 76%, on the second question regarding various disasters, pretest 58% became a posttest result of 72%, on the third question regarding disaster factors, pretest 56% became a posttest result of 70%, on the fourth question regarding preparedness, pretest 44% became a posttest result of 78%, on the fifth question regarding various natural disasters, pretest 60% became a posttest result of 80%, on the sixth question regarding preparedness in schools, pretest 56% became a posttest result of 79%, on the seventh question regarding disaster management in schools, pretest 36% became a posttest result of 72%, on the eighth question regarding self-evacuation in schools, pretest 42% became a posttest result of 84%, on the ninth question regarding disaster simulation through virtual reality, 38% became a posttest result of 74%, on the tenth question regarding virtual reality learning experiences, pretest 37% with a posttest result of 79%, test as much as 86%

Abstract

The Digital Teacherpreneur Workshop was initiated to address the suboptimal use of digital technology by teachers as a creative economic opportunity. This activity aims to improve teachers' digital skills, managerial abilities, and entrepreneurial mindset through ongoing training and mentoring. The method used was participatory training, with pre- and post-test evaluations of 21 participants across six indicators: digital literacy, content creativity, platform management, digital marketing, managerial skills, and entrepreneurial mindset. The results showed significant improvements in all indicators. The most prominent improvements were seen in digital content creativity and entrepreneurial mindset, indicating a transformation not only in technical aspects but also in participants' mindsets. Furthermore, teachers' abilities to manage digital platforms and implement marketing strategies have also developed significantly, thereby supporting the potential monetization of technology-based educational products. The workshop concluded that it was effective in holistically improving teachers' digitalpreneur competencies. This program not only strengthens individual capacity but also opens up additional income opportunities and encourages the creation of an innovative, productive, and sustainable education ecosystem in the digital era

Abstract

Lactation massage as a complementary care that can increase breast milk volume and provide a relaxing effect on postpartum mothers. The implementation of lactation massage in first-level health facilities such as Community Health Centers has the potential to reduce the incidence of breast engorgement or breast milk stagnation. The activity was carried out by explaining the objectives of Community Service on lactation massage material using leaflets and educational videos, as well as practicing how to perform lactation massage using educational dolls and performing massage directly on postpartum and breastfeeding mothers (Demonstration and Rededication). The results of this Community Service were that all 30 participants received education that had been provided in the form of leaflets, educational videos, demonstrations using educational dolls and then redemonstrated to all participants, after which the Community Service team performed lactation massage to participants one by one  until all participants. All outputs (leaflets, videos, and educational dolls) interact with each other in one educational system. The progress that has been achieved has met the target of implementing activities that have been carried out at the Saigon Community Health Center. Structured education supported by appropriate demonstration media can change the public paradigm regarding lactation barriers for breastfeeding mothers to recognize their body's needs independently.

Abstract

One of the traditions of the Minang people is to "migrate" both domestically and abroad, including in Malaysia. In general, the livelihood of Minang migrants is trading. The source of livelihood of various traders is maintained, some of these migrants have even become wealthy. However, there are also those who are able to survive as traders or fail and have to return home due to failure to trade in Malaysia. To provide empowerment to Minang migrants in Malaysia. The purpose of this training activity is to provide knowledge and motivation to become entrepreneurs for Minang migrants in Malaysia. The community service method is Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and Question Answer method. Training participants are administrators and traders of Padang Pariaman Saiyo in Selangor-Malaysia. Evaluation of the success of this research activity is by observing participant participation and the dynamics of the training process. The results of the community service research show that training participants can understand strategies for increasing trade (small and medium enterprises) through increasing entrepreneurial motivation and social networks, including through the activities of the Minang Saiyo Padang Pariaman social group in Malaysia.

Abstract

Cocoa production in Indonesia is hampered by pest attacks, namely the fruit-sucking bug Helopeltis spp. And the cocoa pod borer Conopomorpha cramerella. Both pests reduce the quality and quantity of the harvest. This training aims to accompany cocoa farmers in implementing fruit-bagging techniques as an environmentally friendly pest prevention and management. The activity was carried out in Sidomulyo Village, Semaka District, Tanggamus Regency, using extension methods, field demonstrations, and direct practice with farmers. The results showed a notable increase in farmers' understanding of pest identification and their proficiency in applying the cocoa fruit bagging technique. Monitoring of demonstration plots revealed that bagging effectively reduced pest attack intensity from 48% in control plants to 15% in bagged fruits, while the proportion of healthy, harvestable pods increased from 52% to 85%. This technique is considered effective, low-cost, easy to implement, and free from chemical inputs, making it highly suitable for small-scale cocoa farmers. The activity also demonstrated the potential of participatory field-based training in accelerating technology adoption at the grassroots level, thereby supporting the sustainability of cocoa production and the welfare of farming communitie

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance students’ understanding and skills in hydraulic fracturing technology at SMK Migas Bumi Melayu Riau, with a particular focus on proppant materials and reservoir permeability. The partner institution faces challenges related to limited hands-on learning opportunities and a lack of instructional materials that integrate oil and gas concepts with local resources. Riau Province has abundant quartz sand resources, which were utilized in this program as an educational medium to support vocational learning. The program was implemented using an educational and participatory approach that included lectures, interactive discussions, and the introduction of local quartz sand as a simulation material for proppants used in hydraulic fracturing. The activity was conducted on December 12, 2025, at SMK Migas Bumi Melayu Riau and involved students from the Oil and Natural Gas Production Engineering program. The results demonstrated an improvement in students’ understanding of the fundamental concepts of hydraulic fracturing and the role of proppants, as well as an increased interest in the utilization of local resources for oil and gas applications. The program also produced learning modules and educational media that can be used sustainably by the partner institution to support future instructional activities. Overall, this PKM program contributes to strengthening vocational education based on regional potential and supports the development of skilled young human resources who are better prepared to meet the challenges of the oil and gas industry.

Abstract

Anemia in adolescents remains a public health problem that impacts learning concentration, academic achievement, and the quality of adolescent health. Low knowledge about the importance of iron consumption and a healthy diet is one of the risk factors for anemia in adolescent girls. This community service activity aims to increase adolescent knowledge about anemia prevention through balanced nutrition education and the consumption of iron tablets (TTD). The implementation method is carried out through counseling using leaflets and interactive PowerPoint presentations with a lecture and discussion approach. The target of the activity is 50 students of SMA Negeri 2 Ungaran who were selected using a random sampling technique. Evaluation was carried out using a pre-test and post-test to measure the increase in participants' knowledge. The results showed an increase in participants' knowledge after being given education. The percentage of participants with very good knowledge category increased from 16% to 92%, while the sufficient category decreased from 4% to 0%. The average score of participants increased from 95.20 to 98.40 with a significance value of p 0.05 based on the Paired Sample t-test. Health education using leaflets and interactive presentations has proven effective in increasing adolescent knowledge about anemia prevention. This program is expected to support ongoing promotional and preventive efforts in the school environment

Abstract

Mitigating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the energy sector requires early capacity building through vocational education, particularly in oil and gas disciplines. Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is a key technology supporting the energy transition, yet its educational implementation at vocational high schools remains limited. The novelty of this Community Service Program (PKM) lies in developing a CCS educational model specifically tailored to oil and gas vocational schools, integrating industry-oriented learning, Indonesian oil and gas case studies, and climate mitigation perspectives. This program aims to improve the literacy, understanding, and environmental awareness of students and teachers at SMK Migas BMR Pekanbaru regarding CCS as a low-carbon technology. The methods include interactive lectures, applied workshops, case-based discussions, and the development of contextual vocational learning modules. The results show improved participant understanding of CCS concepts and GHG mitigation. Program outputs include a CCS vocational module, learning media, and PKM documentation, contributing to vocational education strengthening and sustainable energy transition in Indonesia

Abstract

Advances in information technology have driven the transformation of accounting practices from manual to computerized systems. This situation demands that Vocational High School (SMK) graduates possess digital accounting competencies that meet the needs of the business and industrial world. However, students and teachers still lack understanding and skills in using accounting software, necessitating competency improvement through structured training. This community service activity aims to improve the digital accounting competency of students and teachers at SMK Dharma Loka Pekanbaru through training in the use of the Zahir Accounting application. The implementation method includes preparation, training, hands-on practice, mentoring, and evaluation. The material provided includes an introduction to Zahir Accounting, creating company data, managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and utilizing the application's supporting features. The training is conducted using lectures, demonstrations, practice, and interactive discussions to ensure participants are able to operate the application independently. The expected outcomes of this activity are increased participant knowledge and skills in using computer-based accounting software, increased student readiness for the world of work, and increased teacher competence in integrating computerized accounting learning into the teaching and learning process. In addition, this activity is expected to strengthen the synergy between universities and schools in supporting the development of human resources that are adaptive to the development of digital technology in the field of accounting.

Abstract

The oil and gas industry requires high technical competence, especially in the field of formation evaluation. However, many vocational students face challenges in visualizing subsurface data due to limited access to specialized software and industrial equipment. This community service program aims to enhance the competency of students at SMK Migas Inovasi Pekanbaru through training in well logging and data interpretation. The method used includes technical socialization, hands-on workshops on reading log curves (gamma ray, resistivity and porosity), and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. The results showed a significant increase in students understanding with average scores rising from 45% to 82%. This activity successfully bridged the gap between school theory and industrial practice, preparing students for the workforce or higher education in the energy sector
