Abstract

Every year, the population continues to grow, leading to an increase in daily activities. To meet transportation needs, light motor vehicles, such as petrol motorcycles, are the main choice. Motorbikes have been widely marketed in various models. Along with the development of knowledge about motorbikes, there is a type of automatic motorbike (matic). internal combustion piston engine is a type of heat engine that transforms fuel energy into mechanical energy through the movement of a piston. It uses one or more moving pistons to convert pressure into rotational motion. Inside the engine cylinder, a fuel mixture is introduced, producing hot gases that push the piston down and drive the crankshaft. The types of fuel used include premium, pertalite, and pertamax. The combustion of these fuels has an impact on the environment. PT Pertamina (Persero) plans to discontinue premium fuel and replace it with pertalite and pertamax, which are increasingly favoured by consumers. A study revealed that pertamax fuel is more effective at improving engine performance than pertalite, as shown by dyno test results that showed the highest torque and power values with pertamax fuel at 6,000 RPM, namely 6.01 kW and 9.53 nM.

Abstract

Energi listrik sangat penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, mendukung berbagai aktivitas yang bergantung pada listrik sebagai sumber utama. Indonesia memiliki tingkat konsumsi energi listrik yang tinggi, namun banyak wilayah masih belum terjangkau oleh jaringan listrik, menyebabkan berbagai masalah. Untuk mengatasi ini, perlu dikembangkan energi terbarukan yang dapat menggantikan bahan bakar fosil, seperti tenaga air. Pembangkit listrik tenaga air, khususnya mikrohidro, sangat ekonomis meskipun hanya mampu memenuhi kebutuhan beberapa rumah. Di Nagari Koto Hilalang, aliran sungai digunakan untuk pembangkit listrik mikrohidro. Pengujian menunjukkan bahwa daya dan efisiensi turbin bervariasi berdasarkan bukaan guide vane. Semakin kecil bukaan guide vane, semakin besar daya listrik yang dihasilkan. Daya optimum tercapai pada bukaan 25°, yaitu 760,36 Watt dengan efisiensi 77,50%. Sebaliknya, daya minimum dihasilkan pada bukaan 75°, yaitu 33,04 Watt dengan efisiensi 3,37%. Dari hasil perhitungan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa variasi bukaan guide vane mempengaruhi daya dan efisiensi turbin. Semakin kecil bukaan guide vane, semakin besar daya dan efisiensi yang dihasilkan. Nilai efisiensi optimum diperoleh pada bukaan 25°, yaitu 77,50%.

Abstract

Theì causeì of work accideìnts is baseìd on a lack of undeìrstanding in impleìmeìnting Occupational Safeìty and Heìalth (K3), as weìll as Occupational Safeìty and Heìalth (K3) reìgulations that areì not followeìd, theìreìforeì theì leìveìl of risk of accideìnts will beì veìry largeì. Theì purposeì of this study is to deìteìrmineì theì reìlationship beìtweìeìn occupational heìalth and safeìty (K3) and theì leìarning outcomeìs of meìchanical practiceì of gradeì XI studeìnts majoring in Meìchanical Eìngineìeìring at SMK Neìgeìri 1 Padang. Theì data colleìction teìchniqueì in this study useìs a queìstionnaireì with a likeìr scaleì. Theì data analysis teìchniqueì useìs SPSS softwareì with correìlation analysis that looks for variableì reìlationships. As a reìsult of theì data deìscription, a positiveì and significant reìlationship beìtweìeìn theì reìlationship beìtweìeìn theì impleìmeìntation of K3 and theì leìarning outcomeìs of Prakeìrin studeìnts in gradeì XI of Machining Eìngineìeìring SMK Neìgeìri 1 Padang was 0.490. at a significanceì leìveìl of 0.05 That this can proveì a positiveì influeìnceì beìtweìeìn theì two variableìs. Meìanwhileì, theì deìteìrminant valueì (R2) is 0.185. This meìans that theì reìlationship beìtweìeìn theì application of K3 and theì leìarning outcomeìs of latheì practiceì has a weìak cateìgory. From this, it can beì concludeìd that many factors affeìct theì impleìmeìntation of studeìnt K3, of which oneì of theìseì many things is studeìnt leìarning outcomeìs.

Abstract

In the era of globalisation, education plays an important role in creating a prosperous society. Teachers have a crucial role in improving the quality of education in Indonesia. Interest in becoming a teacher is a condition in which a person has great attention to the teaching profession, feels happy, and wants to become a teacher. This study aims to identify the interest of undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Education Study Programme students in choosing a profession as a teacher. Based on observations and interviews with students of the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Programme, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University, it is known that many students are not interested in becoming teachers. Some of the reasons underlying this include lack of self-confidence, doubts about income, opportunities to become a teacher, and personal ability to deal with student characteristics. This study aims to determine the description of interest in becoming a teacher in Mechanical Engineering Education Study Programme students at Padang State University. The research method used is descriptive with a quantitative approach, with a sample of 25% of the population or 43 people. The results showed that the interest of Mechanical Engineering Education Study Programme students at Padang State University towards the vocational teaching profession reached 81.36%, which is included in the good category. In conclusion, students of Mechanical Engineering Education Study Programme at Padang State University have a good interest in becoming a teacher.

Abstract

This independent learning curriculum emphasizes the aspects of independence and courage to learn, and can provide opportunities for teachers to develop learning according to what is needed by students. This study aims to measure the readiness of teachers in the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum (KMB) at SMK Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping. The method used is a quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The method used was the distribution of questionnaires with a total of 24 statements with 75 respondents. Based on the results of the analysis, the average Respondent Achievement Level (TCR) index in terms of learning planning was 93.87% and in terms of the learning implementation process was 90.45%. Therefore, the readiness of teachers for the implementation of the independent learning curriculum at SMK Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping in terms of learning planning and the learning implementation process is categorized as very ready.

Abstract

Teachers cannot reach all the students in the class. This results in a significant difference in value between the most intelligent and least intelligent students on elements of Cost Planning and Building Construction Scheduling. This difference in scores is a factor in selecting peer teaching learning methods. This research was conducted to determine how effective peer teaching to improving student learning results in elements of Cost Planning and Building Construction Scheduling. The type of research used is experimental research with a non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design model. The number of samples used was 36 people: 18 students of class XI DPIB 1 who acted for the control class and 18 students of class XI DPIB 2 who acted for the experimental class. The experimental class uses a peer tutor teaching approach. The research was conducted by providing test instruments in the form of a pretest and posttest which were first tested on 26 class XI students of SMK Negeri 1 West Sumatra. The average of student learning results in the experimental class was 92.17 and the control class was 47.89. Student learning results appear to be better than the average comparison of the two classes in this study. Hypothesis testing used the Mann Whitney U-Test which found that Asymp.Sig < 0.05 and 0.000 < 0.05. So, from hypothesis testing it is stated that peer teaching is effective in improving student learning results in the Elements of Cost Planning and Building Construction Scheduling.

Abstract

Transportation industry is the third largest energy consumer, the focus on energy saving in vehicles and reducing exhaust emissions is major concern. Aerodynamics is one of the important subjects in vehicle engineering today. The more aerodynamic the vehicle, the lighter the engine performance, which can reduce fuel usage. This study aims to examine the effect of vehicle body design on the value of drag coefficient (Cd), lift coefficient (), and the ratio between lift coefficient and drag coefficient (/Cd). The method in this research is a numerical method that utilizes the CFD feature in the Ansys Fluent 2024 R1. The drag coefficient value with a speed of 10 m/s is 0.0155, a speed of 20 m/s is 0.0110, and a speed of 30 m/s is 0.0083. While the value of the lift coefficient with a speed of 10 m/s is obtained worth 0.0177, a speed of 20 m/s worth 0.0358, and a speed of 10 m/s worth 0.0455. Then the vehicle body design obtained the value of the /Cd ratio with a speed of 10 m/s worth 1.1419, a speed of 20 m/s worth 3.2545, and a speed of 30 m/s worth 5.4819. The conclusion this research is that the design of the vehicle body has a drag coefficient value decreasing as the speed increases and conversely the lift coefficient value increases. Based on the /Cd ratio value, it indicates that the vehicle body design is an aerodynamic design because the higher /Cd ratio, the more efficient the vehicle performance.

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution has had an impact on the world of vocational education. Practical learning is the main characteristic in answering the challenges of the industrial world. Equipment used in the practicum must have excellent perfomace to be operated. One of the strategies in maintaining equipment in prime condition is the application of the Report Analysis Preventive Maintenance (RAOPM) application. This study aims to monitor the activities of the use of equipment in the laboratory, in order to determine the downtime of the machine. This research uses development research. The results showed that RAOPM in the Makassar State University laboratory has had a tremendous impact on the operational aspects of the laboratory. The implementation of RAOPM from the usage rate indicator, has an average value of 4.21 in the “Very Good” category with a percentage of 52.2%. In terms of maintenance efficiency, it also has a positive impact on knowing machine downtime which can be monitored in real-time. Then the implementation of RAOPM in the laboratory provides various benefits, ranging from increased maintenance efficiency with a predictive approach to better resource management through structured scheduling. RAOPM transforms maintenance from reactive to proactive, lowering breakdown frequency, downtime, and operational costs. In addition, RAOPM improved staff competencies through technology and maintenance management training, fostered a sense of responsibility, and supported the university's sustainability goals by optimizing energy efficiency. Although challenges such as resource limitations and technology adaptation remain, the benefits of RAOPM in improving the university's performance, academic quality, reputation are significant.

Abstract

Fish drying using a solar collector with heat storage is hot air taken directly from solar energy channeled into the solar collector which can store heat energy from the sun with sand media in the solar collector. The research method involves drying fish at different temperature and time variations, and comparing the results with conventional drying methods. The parameters measured include the moisture content and the dried fish produced. In addition, the dried fish produced from this process had better texture and flavor, thus improving the quality of the final product. The purpose of this research is to dry fish using a solar collector by using solar energy media to absorb heat energy. The test results of the fish dryer using sand media showed the highest temperature on the inside of the oven with a temperature of 41 ° C at 11:00 WIB with a solar intensity of 499 W/m². Drying on fish occurs a reduction in fish content, namely 49.25% to 64.70% for 8 hours of drying using a solar collector. The drying rate of the fish drying process is 0.091 g/min to 0.061 g/min with a collector efficiency level of 15.04% on the first day of testing and 16.52% on the second day of testing. In the process of drying fish for two days, there is a reduction in fish mass from 67 grams to 12 grams with a mass reduction of about 55 grams.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools face several issues related to the facilities and infrastructure of the practical room for the Building Modeling and Information Design Expertise Program (DPIB), such as a lack of adequate drawing tables and uncomfortable, hot room conditions, which reduce student comfort. Additionally, supporting equipment such as cleaning tools and safety equipment (K3) are insufficient, and the maintenance of facilities is not carried out optimally. These conditions hinder the effectiveness of the learning process and do not meet the national standards set by Permendikbud Number 34 of 2018.This study aims to evaluate the adequacy of facilities and infrastructure in the practical room of the Building Modeling and Information Design Expertise Program (DPIB) at SMK Negeri 1 Lintau Buo, based on the standards outlined in Permendikbud Number 34 of 2018. The evaluation focuses on equipment completeness, the physical condition of the practice room, and other supporting facilities used for learning activities. The research employs an evaluative method with a quantitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with school officials, and documentation of the existing facilities.The results indicate deficiencies in the quality of the drawing tables and the uncomfortable condition of the practice room, both of which could potentially hinder the achievement of national education standards. This research is expected to provide valuable input for the school to improve its facilities and infrastructure to support more effective and efficient learning activities in the future.
