Abstract

Utilization of solar power can use a thermoelectric generator. Thermoelectric Generators work by taking advantage of temperature differences and the application of the Seebeck effect. This experimental study uses two prototypes of a perfect house with a roof made of zinc plate. One of the roofs of the house is covered with glass. Thermoelectrics are installed at the bottom of the roof of each house as many as 12 pieces and arranged in a series circuit. Data collection was carried out one day from 08.00 -15.59. The largest electrical voltage obtained occurred at 11.00 – 13.59 reaching 0.215 – 0.183 Volts in houses with glass-covered roofs and 0.654 – 0.527 Volts. The use of a layer of glass makes the roof temperature stable because the heat absorbed can be retained by the glass. As a result, the voltage generated in a house with a glazed roof is more stable than a house with a non-glazed roof. This research also proves that the difference in temperature affects the voltage generated by the thermoelectric. Pemanfaatan tenaga surya dapat menggunakan termoelektrik generator. Termoelektrik Generator bekerja dengan memanfaatkan perbedaan temperatur dan penerapan efek Seebeck. Penelitian eksperimen ini menggunakan dua prototipe rumah sempurna dengan atap dari seng plat. Salah satu atap rumah dilapisi dengan kaca. Termoelektrik dipasang pada bagian bawah atap masing-masing rumah sebanyak 12 buah dan disusun dengan rangkaian seri. Pengambilan data dilakukan satu hari dari pukul 08.00 -15.59. Tegangan listrik terbesar yang didapatkan terjadi pada pukul 11.00 – 13.59 mencapai 0,215 – 0,183 Volt pada rumah dengan atap dilapisi kaca dan 0,654 – 0,527 Volt. Penggunaan lapisan kaca membuat temperatur atap menjadi stabil karena panas yang diserap dapat ditahan oleh kaca. Akibatnya membuat tegangan yang dihasilkan pada rumah dengan atap dilapisi kaca lebih stabil. Dari penelitian ini juga membuktikan perbedaan temperatur mempengaruhi tegangan listrik yang dihasilkan oleh termoelektrik.

Abstract

Compressed natural gas (CNG) is a popular alternative fuel because of its more environmentally friendly properties than fossil fuels , including applications in diesel engines. However, supplying too much compressed natural gas fuel causes poor engine performance and emissions due to a decrease in the air-fuel ratio on the dual-fuel engine. The addition of air using electric superchargers was done to return the air-fuel ratio to ideal conditions. Lambda value (λ) was variation under low load (1.52 to 2.71), medium load (1.18 to 2.17), and high load (0.94 to 2.17) on a CNG-diesel dual fuel engine. The addition of pure air in each load can increase combustion stability in certain lambda, which was indicated by an increase in thermal efficiency, heat release rate, and a decrease in ignition delay, combustion duration, hydrocarbon, and carbon monoxide emissions.

Abstract

Organic waste is one way of utilizing biomass to produce energy. The advantage of biomass is that it tends to be renewable. The energy from biomass that will be used to make briquettes is processed and compressed into a more regular form with a high calorific value. This research will involve organic waste as a source of biomass. To obtain briquettes that are dense, tight, and in good condition, tests were conducted with various temperature and pressure settings. Organic waste with particle size between 18 and 30 mesh is used in this method. Briquetting using heat-treated molds, with temperatures of 200, 250 and 300 °C with a holding time of 5 minutes and also applying pressures of 5 MPa, 10 MPa, 15 MPa and 20 MPa. At 300 °C, 10 and 20 MPa pressure, the briquettes were dense, tight and had high density values. Sampah organik merupakan salah satu cara pemanfaatan biomassa untuk menghasilkan energi. Keuntungan dari biomassa adalah bahwa hal itu cenderung diperbaharui. Energi dari biomassa yang akan digunakan untuk membuat briket diolah dan dikompresi menjadi bentuk yang lebih teratur dengan nilai kalor yang tinggi. Penelitian ini akan melibatkan limbah sampah organik sebagai sumber biomassa. Untuk mendapatkan briket yang padat, rapat, dan dalam kondisi baik, dilakukan pengujian dengan berbagai pengaturan suhu dan tekanan. Sampah organik dengan ukuran partikel antara 18 dan 30 mesh digunakan dalam metode ini. Pembriketan menggunakan cetakan yang diberi panas, dengan suhu 200, 250 dan 300 ℃ dengan waktu penahanan 5 menit dan juga pemberian tekanan 5 MPa, 10 MPa, 15 MPa dan 20 MPa. Pada suhu 300 °C, tekanan 10 dan 20 MPa dihasilkan briket yang padat, rapat dan memiliki nilai densitas yang tinggi.

Abstract

Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is a potential feedstock for biokerosene. However, it is problematic when used directly because it is gummy, has a high viscosity and is degradable. Various conversion processes have been conducted that directly convert CPO into biokerosene, but it requires high temperature and pressure. Therefore, as a novelty, this study aims to develop the technology for converting triglycerides into biokerosene under relatively low operating conditions and producing similar petroleum kerosene by electrolysis-assisted and electromagnetic induction. In this study, the conversion technology process was conducted in three steps (i) converting triglycerides to Free Fatty Acids (FFA), (ii) converting FFA to alkanes, and (iii) converting alkanes to biokerosene. Step (ii) is assisted by the electrolysis process, meanwhile, step (iii) is assisted by electromagnetic irradiation. The finding showed that electrolysis obtained 73.47% yield of alkanes and electromagnetic irradiation obtained 78.02% yield of biokerosene.  Biokerosene is almost close to kerosene-based petroleum in terms of colour Saybolt, flash point and Net Heating Value. The findings of this study may provide an alternate technology approach for biokerosene synthesis and solution kerosene scarcity.

Abstract

Sterilization in the sterilizer unit is one of the important processes in the Crude Palm Oil (CPO) industry but it can cause oil loss in the palm fruit which reduces the oil yield if the sterilization process is carried out over time. Therefore, the sterilization time needs to be considered so that this study aims to analyze the effect of the length of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) sterilization time on oil loss in condensate water sterilizer on the industry of CPO and determine the maximum time in the Sterilizer. This study was conducted at a CPO plant in West Sumatra with a maximum standard of 1.2 % oil loss, the optimum sterilization time can be determined. This study uses a horizontal-type sterilizer through a triple-peak sterilization system. Peak pressure 1 is 1.2 bar; peak pressure 2 is 2.0 bar; and the triple peak pressure is 3.0 bar with a temperature of 130-140 °C. The time varies from 83 – 90 minutes. The results showed that the longer the sterilization time, the greater the percentage of oil loss. In conclusion, the maximum time in sterilizer is achieved under 87.4 minutes with an maximum oil loss standard of 1.2 %.

Abstract

Covid-19 makes learnings procesed carrie outs online learnings with the help of applications, at SMK N 1 Batipuh an online learning process is also carrie outs, namely withs helps of Google Classroom applications, this has an impacts on students interests in the learnings process. This condition that affects interest in learning occurs because theres are severals obstacle in online learnings processed such as internet connections that make students not understand in learnings. purposed of his studied was to finds outs how much of a contribution was made in the use of Googles Classroom on student interested in learnings lathe engineering subjects in class XI SMK N 1 Batipuh. The quantitative approachs use in this researched. A quantitatived approachs is use researchers to measured the contribution of the used Google Classroom in onlines learnings to interest in learning. In data analysis, this know thats the Sig valued is 0.0, which mean 0.05, it is stated that the data is correlated. The contribution of use of the googles classroom application to student interested in learnings is 0.970. So Ha is accept, whichs mean that theres is a contribution from the uses of Google Classroom in online learning to interest in learning. Its know thats the data from the correlations coefficients is 0.970 and the coefficients of determinations is 94%. Abstract

Waste cooking oil has high Free Fatty Acid (FFA). It affected on decreasing a biodiesel production. FFA reduction is one of important processes in biodiesel production from waste cooking oil. Thus, this study aimed to examine the optimum condition in FFA reduction. The process is assisted by using ultrasonic irradiation on acid esterification. Variables of the process are acid concentration, molar ratio of methanol and oil, and irradiation time. Meanwhile temperature irradiation on 45oC is a control variable. Process optimization is conducted by Response Surface Methodology (RSM) with Central Composite Design (CCD). The optimum conditions of response were 7.22:1 (methanol to oil molar ratio), 0.92% wt H2SO4, 26.04 minutes (irradiation time), and 45oC (irradiation temperature). Ultrasonic system reduced FFA significantly compared to conventional method.

Abstract

Multi-soil-layering (MSL) is well-known as an emerging technology for wastewater treatment. However, limited studies have been conducted on the crumb rubber industry. Thus, this study aims to reduce the crumb rubber industrial wastewater using MSL system. Four models of MSL conducted it. They are (1) constructed by body size of gravel with a mixture of andosol soil and fine charcoal; (2) body size of gravel with a mixture of andosol soil, fine charcoal, sawdust, and iron particles; (3) tube size of gravel with a mixture of andosol soil and fine charcoal; and (4) tube size of gravel with a mixture of andosol soil, fine charcoal and sawdust. The construction models were installed in the variance of the box and each of them was flowed by the Hydraulic Loading Rate of wastewater. Aeration treatment is given to the maximum hydraulic loading rate. The result showed that MSL systems significantly minimize the crumb rubber industrial wastewater under requirements that cover Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Total Nitrogen (T-N) and Total ammonia (T-NH3). It also significantly neutralizes the power of Hydrogen (pH) up to 6. The highest reduction was obtained by the MSL 3 system (tube size of gravel with a mixture of andosol soil and fine charcoal). The aeration significantly decreased the BOD, COD, TSS, and ammonia from 85% to 99%. Although the aeration process enhanced the performance of MSL system, however, MSL without aeration successfully treated the wastewater to meet the required standard. This study provides new insight into the effectiveness of MSL system in reducing pollutant parameters of crum rubber industrial wastewater.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan seberapa efektif pembelajaran mesin bubut Augmented Reality yang menggunakan android terhadap hasil belajar siswa di SMK Dhuafa Padang yang diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi untuk mengatasi masalah pembelajaran dalam teknik pemesinan bubut dan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Kuantitatif Desain Eksperimental Quasai untuk memastikan apakah partisipan yang diteliti berbeda atau tidak. Hasil analisis rata-rata yang ditunjukkan dengan rata-rata nilai post-test kelas eksperimen sebesar 83,53 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 79,47 menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar penerapan media Augmented Reality diperoleh sebanyak 15 siswa, menurut penelitian yang dilakukan pada hasil post-test hanya diperoleh hasil belajar dari 30 siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran. Menurut temuan penelitian, penggunaan media augmented reality mempengaruhi seberapa baik siswa belajar.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the subject of Entrepreneurship Creative Products. Teachers still cannot carry out the learning process properly and optimally. This results in student learning outcomes. This study aims to describe the making of door trellis with the Project Based Learning model in the learning process to improve the learning outcomes of Entrepreneurship Creative Products at SMK. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK) using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The subjects of this research were students of class XI SMK Dhuafa Padang with 25 students, researchers as practitioners and class teachers as observers. This research was conducted in two cycles, which consisted of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Research data obtained from observations of the learning process, tests in the form of evaluation sheets done by students, and non-tests taken from observations of students' skills. In cycle I learning outcomes obtained a percentage of 52% and cycle II obtained a percentage of 96% completeness with very good qualifications. Thus it can be concluded that learning Entrepreneurial Creative Products making door trellis with Project Based Learning model can improve learning outcomes.
