Abstract

The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of leadership style and motivation at work to the employees’ performance of PT. Angkasa Pura I (Persero) at Adi Soemarmo Airport in Surakarta. The quantitative method was used in this study. The analysis was using simple and multiple linear regressions. The sample was 33 employees of Airport Operation Service and Hospitality division at the airport. The result of the study are (1) the leadership style positively and significantly effects the employees’ performance of 94.4 %, (2) the motivation at work positively and significantly effects the employees’ performance of 88.4 %, and (3) simultaneously both the leadership style and motivation at work positively and significantly effects the employees’ performance of 95.2 %.

Abstract

PT Monang Sianipar Abadi (MSA) Cargo is freight forwarding company that serve in shipping goods domestically and internationally, customs clearance and imported warehouse sales or warehousing.  MSA Cargo has some branches that focus more on import division to increase imported warehouse space.  The objective of this study is to find out the exact business strategy of this company by using SWOT analysis method.  The result of the study shows that the company strategy is horizontal strategy.  This strategy is gained from 2 SWOT matrix methods, which are IE matrix and SPACE matrix whose data are produced from the result of IE evaluation Matrix with the internal factor of (3.01) and the external factor of (2.98) for IE matrix data and for SPACE matrix, the data are gained from IE evaluation matrix balanced total with the horizontal X axis of (0.63) and vertical Y axis of (0.84).  Therefore, by using the integration of horizontal strategy, the company will have a big control of the competitor companies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of operating costs, freight costs and tonnage of ships in the distribution of fuel in eastern Indonesia. The data was obtained through interviews and data collection in the field. The problem was solved using quantitative descriptive methods. From this research, it can be concluded that 1) The effect of Ship Operational Costs (OPEX) on Tonnage ships (GT) with the increase in ship Tonnage will increase ship operating costs, or vice versa. 2) The effect of transport costs (Freight Cost) on Tonnage ships (GT) with increasing vessel Tonnage will increase the cost of transporting ships, but the transport costs per liter will be smaller if the size of the ship is getting bigger. 3) The effect of operational costs (opex) on freight costs (Freight Cost) with increasing operational costs (opex) will increase ship freight costs. The ship's operational costs are greatly updated by the component of Depreciation costs, maintenance / repairs and Crew salary. There are many factors and dimensions that affect operational costs and transport costs in eastern Indonesia, therefore, in-depth research needs to be done in the future by including the vessel operating factor and ship load factor, regulation and best practices in other shipping industries.

Abstract

PT Inti Dinamika Logitama Indonesia is a company engaged in loading and unloading cargo services as well as freight forwarding.  The main issue studied in this research is how big the effect of transporter performance to the achievement of on-time delivery at PT Inti Dinamika Logitama Indonesia is.  The objective of this study is to find out how big the effect of transporter performance to the achievement of on-time delivery is using two methods.  Data were collected by (1) Field research, in form of interviews and library research; and (2) Correlation analyses, coefficient determinant, and hypothesis testing.  The result of the analysis and discussion shows that there is a low yet definite effect between the transporter performance to the achievement of on-time delivery with multiple linear regression equation Y = 35, 90 + 0,145X. It means, if there is a change in transporter performance data, it will affect the achievement of on-time delivery performance.  The correlation coefficient equals to 0.3460.769, which means there is a low effect between X and Y.  The coefficient determinant shows that the contribution of employees’ performance towards the achievement of on-time delivery equals to 11.97% while 88.03% comes from other factors.  Hypothesis test also shows that F stat > F table (2,272 > 1,686), then Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted.  It shows that there is a significant effect between the employees performance to the achievement of on-time delivery.

Abstract

Road Transportation Terminal Unit businessis the operational hub terminals in Jakarta. Unit Road Transportation Terminal Unit businesshas a direct responsibility to the Head of Jakarta Transportation Department which is under and directly responsible to the Governor of DKI Jakarta through the secretary. This study was conducted to determine the performance level of employees of Road Transportation Terminal Unit businessin 2013. The study is using the method of fishbone analysis. Analysis and discussion of the results obtained the conclusion that the percentage of main categories for human resources was 55.56%. It stated that the task sequence has not been implemented properly. The percentage of main categories for engine was 58.33%. It stated that the use of an official car to carry out the task of day-today has not been effective yet. Ultimately, the percentage of main categories for motivation was 83.33%. It stated that it is needed to apply a reward and punishmentsystem.

Abstract

This study aimed at examiningthe effect of bus fleet scheduling on intercity bus passenger’s gaining. Good fleet scheduling with the difference in departure time between two small and stable sequential buses will produce good passenger gaining as well. The research method used linear regression. The results of this study show the effect of bus fleet scheduling on passenger gaining in the linear regression equation Y = 90.622 - 0.53X. Besides, the correlation of the two variables is quite strong in the negative direction with r = -0.59. The greater the difference in departure time of two consecutive buses, the lower the passenger bus gaining. Finally, this study proves that the effect of bus fleet scheduling on bus passenger gaining between cities is small (r2 = 34%) and not significant (t count -0.66 is smaller than t table 12.706).

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to find out how big the effect of service to the passengers of DAMRI route west Bekasi – Soekarno Hatta airport. The types of services regulated in SK.97 / HK.003 / DAMRI-2012 on Minimum Service Standards (SPM) Integrated Transportation Mode determine the quality of transport services that will affect the user decisions on DAMRI route West Bekasi - Soekarno Hatta Airport in 2016. This study was analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with questionnaires spread of 100 respondents. The result of analysis shows that there is a significant influence simultaneously between the variables of service quality to user/passengers decision on DAMRI route west Bekasi – Soekarno Hatta airport. Partial analysis results show that security, safety, convenience, affordability, and equality variables do not have a significant effect on user/passengers decision. However, order has a significant effect on user/passengers decisions.

Abstract

PT. Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (PT. Pelni) is a company engaged in inter-island crossing transportation service providers. The purpose of the study is to find out and analyze the influence of supply chain management and national shipping company (PT. Pelni) plan in suppressing the East Indonesia price disparity in 2016.  To solve the problem of the research, the researchers used 2 methods:  field research and library data for collecting data. Both methods of data analysis are processed using multiple regression analysis, with validity test, reliability test, t test, F test, and coefficient of determination. The results of the analysis and discussion show a fairly high influence between supply chain management and the national shipping plan on the price disparity of goods needed as indicated by the multiple linear regression line equation namely: Y = 14,947 + 0,318 X1 + 0,064 X2.  Based on the results of the F test, where the variables X1 and X2 give effect to the Y variable together, then the results of the analysis, F count is 3,807. Then, F count > F table which is 3.807 > 3.35 proves that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Therefore, there is a strong and positive multiple relation between supply chain management performance variable and the national shipping plan variable towards the price disparity variable with coefficient determination of 22%.

Abstract

This research is done to find out the direct and indirect influences of corporate image, user image, and aviation product image towards consumers’ loyalty.  The samples used were gathered from 100 respondents coming from Facebook accounts that are linked to official aviations services accounts.  The result shows that the corporate image, user image and aviation product image influences towards consumers’ loyalty scale is 61.3% and has a significant effect. The scale is the result of the Trimming mode path analysis by eliminating one exogenous variable which has no significant effect; that is the corporate image. From the two variables which have significant effect to consumers’ loyalty, the product’s image has the biggest effect with 39.1% percentage.

Abstract

PT. Jardine Shipping Service (JSS) is one of the shipping agency which acts as intermediary between goods’ delivery and ship operator companies. To find out the procedure of services and containers supply, to analyze the number of containers achieved based on the target, and to fulfill the containers availability, the researcher is using descriptive evaluative method. The result shows that the number of export containers’ availability in PT. JSS is 61 % based on the coming order and daily update which are informed by the containers’ depo of logistics division. Some efforts need to be done to fulfill the needs of containers which are borrowing from the same principal shipping agency and/or moving to the other principal which has the same purpose and containers’ availability.
