Abstract

Ecoprint is a technique for printing natural patterns on fabric by utilizing natural materials such as leaves and flowers. This community service activity aims to introduce the ecoprint technique to V and VI students at SDN Pegambiran 2 Kota Cirebon while enhancing their creativity and environmental awareness. The method used in this activity is hands-on practice (learning by doing) with the pounding technique, which involves striking leaves and flowers so that their pigments transfer onto the fabric. The results of the activity indicate that students were highly enthusiastic about each stage of the ecoprint-making process, from selecting materials and arranging patterns to the printing and color fixation process. Additionally, students gained new insights into the utilization of natural resources around them as eco-friendly natural dyes. The students' artworks demonstrated good pattern and color quality, with clear color variations and patterns that matched the shapes of the leaves used. This activity not only improved students' artistic skills but also introduced them to an environmentally friendly printing technique and fostered values of nature conservation. Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi masalah kurangnya pemahaman siswa SMKN 3 Karawang tentang pengelolaan keuangan pribadi yang dapat berdampak pada ketidakmampuan mereka dalam mengambil keputusan keuangan yang bijaksana di masa depan. Fokus pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan literasi keuangan pribadi siswa agar mereka dapat mempersiapkan masa depan finansial yang lebih stabil. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pemahaman dasar tentang pengelolaan keuangan, termasuk perencanaan anggaran, menabung, investasi, dan cara menghindari utang yang tidak sehat. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif melalui sosialisasi, simulasi keuangan, dan diskusi kelompok, memberikan pengalaman praktis dalam pengelolaan keuangan. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan pre-assessment dan post-assessment untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan dan perubahan sikap siswa. Diharapkan hasilnya adalah peningkatan literasi keuangan, terbentuknya kebiasaan keuangan sehat, serta kesiapan siswa menghadapi tantangan finansial di masa depan, yang memberikan dampak positif jangka panjang dalam pengelolaan keuangan pribadi mereka.

Abstract

The implementation of community service in SMK N 3 Karawang was carried out by teachers from Horizon University Indonesia. SMK N 3 Karawang is one of the private secondary schools located in Kondangjaya area, East Karawang, Karawang City. Initial observations showed that career planning education is needed especially for vocational high school students. For this reason, the author strengthens as part of the academic world to help prepare students' careers, so that in the future it is hoped that the needs of the business world will successfully absorb labor from SMK graduates. This community service activity (PKM) is carried out with a continuous socialization method. There are two types of delivery methods, namely, lectures and discussions based on student center learning. Both the lecturer and the community service team give priority to hands-on activities for students. Thus, PKM participants not only understand in theory, but also understand the application in the industrial business world in the future.

Abstract

The community service program through social entrepreneurship in Pancakarya Village aims to increase community knowledge and skills in utilizing local potential as an economic source. This activity is implemented through two main stages: (1) Socialization and Social Entrepreneurship Training with discussion, brainstorming, and case study methods to explore local potential, and (2) Marketing Network Strengthening Training to improve product marketing capabilities. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding by 30% based on the comparison of pre-test and post-test. Some participants have initiated new businesses, such as the development of organic agricultural products and handicrafts that are marketed online. The training also succeeded in building a collaborative network among participants to share marketing strategies. Regular monitoring and evaluation of the participants' business development will be carried out in the next stage of the mentoring program to help develop their businesses and assist in joint marketing programs to help participants market their products more effectively.

Abstract

The underutilization of agricultural and plantation products is the primary issue faced by the people of Pancakarya Village, Karawang Regency. This has an impact on the relatively low economic value of the products produced. This community service program is designed to enhance the community’s financial management capabilities through training in simple accounting systems. Partners for this service include farmer groups, PKK mothers, and village youth, who are located in fertile areas with abundant agricultural and plantation potential, through the Participatory Action Research (PAR) Approach, which is a program implemented through a series of workshops and practical assistance covering financial recording techniques, stock management, and pricing strategies. With 75% of participants able to create basic financial reports, the program’s outcomes show a notable improvement in partners’ comprehension of basic accounting. After training, participants’ comprehension and awareness are significantly improved by this program as well

Abstract

Old kecipir seeds have no economic value, its thrown away. In actuality, the amino acid makeup of kecipir seeds is nearly identical to that of soybeans, and they contain lipids, proteins, iron, phosphate, vitamin A, magnesium, zinc, and calcium. The protein content of 29% to 38%. Consequently, mature kecipir seeds were processed into tempeh products by Applied Biology program students. The product was on display at a So'a District educational fair. The purpose of this community service project is to educate the local population on how to turn mature kecipir seeds into a valuable tempe product. Training through practice is the approach taken. Panelists, specifically the expo attendees, used organoleptic tests to gather the evaluation of kecipir tempe's quality. Qualitative descriptive methods were used to assess the organoleptic data of product. Because it is thought to be novel in raising the economic value of ancient kecipir seeds from agricultural output, the results demonstrate that kecipir tempe is well-liked by the community. The product looks like kecipir seeds when cut open, yet it still has the same color and scent as ordinary tempeh. When eaten, kecipir tempe has a dense, slightly chewy texture. Tempe kecipir has delicious and looks good.

Abstract

Through the distribution of resources and the display of finished goods, the education expo aims to increase community and student understanding. In the So'a District, students from STIPER Flores Bajawa's Applied Biology Study Program organized an event where they displayed goods made through fermentation processing, including fruit wine. Tropical fruits such tamarillos, bananas, watermelons, oranges, and others may be found in Ngada Regency. Usually, these fruits are eaten straight away without previously being turned into food or drink items. People in the area are used to drinking alcoholic drinks including wine, beer, and moke. Other tropical fruits can be used as the foundation for wine production in addition to grapes. The purpose of this community service project is to educate the locals on how to turn tropical fruits into economically valuable wine and beverage products. In order to make wine from tamarillo, banana, watermelon, and orange, demonstration and experimental approaches were employed. Visitors to the exhibition evaluated the fruit wines based on their color, flavor, and scent. The panelists favored tamarillo wine because of its appealing dark red color, aroma of fruit and alcohol, and more delectable taste brought on by the combination of these flavors.

Abstract

The most important cause of fires in the residential environment is the human error factor. In Kediri, East Java, throughout 2024, there have been 8 incidents of spread reported and published on the Kediri news page. Some of these incidents were caused by gas stoves. Therefore, it is necessary to have counseling activities and firefighting practices for the community to improve people's skills and knowledge about fires caused by gas stoves. This activity is in the form of an introduction to the basics of fire, such as the types of fires and their extinguishers, as well as fire extinguishing training. This activity was carried out and aimed at the residents of Sukorame Village, Mojoroto, Kediri. In providing information to the community, several community empowerment activities will be carried out, including the following: 1. Introducing the basics of fire and fire safety to the community of Sukorame Village, Kediri, 2. Conducting practical counseling on how to use fire extinguishers properly and correctly, 3. Assisting by providing a user manual in the form of a booklet. From the results of community service, the results found that previously, people were still unfamiliar with portable fire extinguishers (APAR) to better understand the importance of the availability of fire extinguishers at home. The community also became more aware of how to extinguish fires using fire extinguishers and using wet fabric or burlap sacks

Abstract

The provision of clean and safe drinking water is a fundamental need to support public health. However, in some areas, poor groundwater quality, such as turbidity and high iron content, remains a major issue. This activity aims to address water quality problems in Kalurahan Umbulmartani Kapanewon Ngempak, Sleman Regency, through a community service program with a participatory approach. The activity involved the community in water treatment using a simple filter media consisting of fine sand, zeolite, gravel, and activated charcoal to reduce turbidity and iron levels in the water. The results show that this technique is effective in improving water quality and meeting health standards. Community empowerment through training, socialization, and direct assistance from cadres and related parties successfully enhanced community understanding of the importance of clean water and created positive changes in the independent management of clean water. Collaboration between the Puskesmas, village government, cadres, and local communities played a key role in the success of this program, which also contributed to efforts to prevent stunting in the area.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 1 Sumber dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi siswa kelas XII dalam melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya kesenjangan informasi dan motivasi di kalangan siswa SMA mengenai pentingnya pendidikan tinggi, pilihan studi, persyaratan masuk, biaya pendidikan, dan potensi karir. Metode yang digunakan adalah seminar yang mencakup materi tentang pentingnya studi lanjut, jenis pendidikan pasca SMA, jalur masuk perguruan tinggi, informasi universitas, sekolah ikatan dinas, beasiswa, dan program studi yang dibutuhkan. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 36 siswa kelas XII IPS 2. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan motivasi siswa untuk melanjutkan pendidikan, dimana persentase siswa yang memilih untuk studi lanjut meningkat dari 52% menjadi 72% setelah kegiatan pengabdian. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian ini efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi siswa kelas XII untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi.
