Abstract

Bullying is a big issue that must be prevented because it has a significant impact and can give rise to a negative mindset towards the perpetrators of bullying. A positive mindset must always be held tightly by every individual, especially the victims of bullying. Bullying cases are a serious problem and often occur in educational institutions. From the bullying cases that occurred, researchers wanted to know the extent of success of cognitive restructuring techniques in handling bullying cases in Vocational High Schools using individual counseling services. The methods used in this research are action research methods in counseling guidance (PTBK), observation and interviews. The results obtained from this research are that individual counseling using cognitive restructuring techniques has been proven to be able to overcome bullying cases at school. This is supported by the results of interviews with guidance and counseling teachers that there are significant changes before and after receiving services. So, it can be concluded that through individual counseling services using cognitive restructuring techniques can overcome bullying cases in Vocational High Schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of group counseling with behavior contract techniques to reduce the behavior of late coming to school of students of SMAN 18 Surabaya. This research is a type of Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) with qualitative methods conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of four students who were recorded as tardy seven to thirteen times in one month based on documentation data of tardiness records. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation of students' tardiness records at school. In the first cycle, the results of group counseling showed that tardiness reduced to 2-3 times a week. In the second cycle, there was a significant decrease where no learners were late because they already had a strong commitment to comply with the agreed behavior contract. The results of this study indicate that group counseling techniques using behavioral contracts are effective in reducing the behavior of coming late to school at SMA Negeri 18 Surabaya. Abstract

Academic stress is the pressure or tension experienced by students as a result of the various demands and challenges related to their academic activities. Students often feel overwhelmed by the many assignments, projects, and exams that must be completed in a short time. Understanding academic stress and its impact is essential to developing effective interventions. Approaches such as Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) can help students identify appropriate solutions and strategies to cope with their stress, improve mental health and academic performance. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of SFBC. This study is a type of Guidance and Counseling Action Research with a qualitative method that was conducted in two cycles. The results showed that SFBC helped students identify goals, strengthen existing abilities, and find exceptions or moments when stress was not so pronounced. This intervention focuses on the future that students want and directs them to identify small steps that can bring positive changes in dealing with their academic stress. Through two cycles of intervention, students experienced significant improvements in time management and reduced duration of online gaming. The second cycle strengthened these findings with increased student readiness for exams and academic challenges. Abstract

Academic procrastination, namely the behavior of procrastinating or avoiding academic tasks, has a significant relationship with students in several ways, both from a cognitive, emotional and academic perspective. Procrastination can directly affect students' academic performance. When students procrastinate on assignments, they may end up having to complete the work in a very short time, which can result in low quality work, tardiness, or even failure to complete assignments. This can lead to a decrease in academic grades and a negative impact on overall academic performance. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing Solution Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) in reducing academic procrastination students in high school 18 Surabaya. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method with two intervention cycles. In cycle 1, counseling focuses on identifying problems and using the miracle question technique to set goals. In cycle 2, researchers applied additional techniques such as exclusion questions and action planning to strengthen behavior change. The research sample consisted of 15 students selected through purposive sampling techniques, and data was collected through interviews and observation. The research results show that the implementation of SFBC is effective in reducing students' levels of academic procrastination. At the end of cycle 1, there was an increase in students' awareness of the impact of procrastination and achieving initial goals. Cycle 2 saw a more significant reduction in procrastination behavior, with students showing increased engagement and better time management. Data analysis shows that exception questioning and action planning techniques contribute to more consistent and sustainable behavior change

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of integrating Motivational Interviewing (MI) in group counseling to increase learners' motivation to learn. Motivational Interviewing, which focuses on exploring intrinsic motivation and addressing ambivalence, is applied in the context of group counseling to provide social and emotional support. The research method used library research with descriptive analysis to review literature related to MI and group counseling. The results showed that the combination of MI and group counseling significantly increased students' academic motivation, a change of 57.55% in the implementation of pre-action in cycles I and II. With positive impacts seen in increased engagement and academic achievement. This combined strategy helped students explore personal goals and overcome barriers to learning, as well as strengthening peer support. This research suggests the widespread application of MI-based group counseling methods at various levels of education as an effective strategy to support student motivation and learning outcomes, and makes an important contribution to the development of better educational interventions.

Abstract

Basically, education plays an important role in shaping student behavior. In fact, the current condition of education is very worrying for all parties, both in the school environment and in daily life outside of school, problems often arise in relationships. Violence committed by students at school is bullying. Guidance and counseling are currently very much needed, especially in the world of education, because they function to deal with problems faced by students, one of which is bullying behavior. This research was conducted to find out 1) To find out the forms of bullying that occur at SMAIT AL-Madinah. 2) To find out the strategies of Guidance and Counseling teachers in dealing with bullying behavior that occurs at SMAIT Al-Madinah. 3) To find out the obstacles for Guidance and Counseling teachers in dealing with bullying behavior in class XI SMAIT Al-Madinah students. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. This is because researchers want to know the strategies of guidance and counseling teachers in dealing with bullying behavior at SMAIT Al-Madinah. Researchers collect data directly from the field through observation, interviews and documentation. The analysis technique uses data reduction analysis, data presentation and conclusions. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded as follows 1). The forms of bullying that occur at SMAIT Al-Madinah are verbal bullying, physical bullying and cyberbullying. This bullying behavior has a bad impact on both the victim and the perpetrator. The impact that occurs on victims of bullying is anxiety, fear and a feeling of wanting revenge. Meanwhile, the impact that occurs on bullies is that they think they are greater and cooler. 2). Guidance and counseling teachers' strategies for dealing with bullying behavior include implementing guidance and counseling services, collaborating with other parties and implementing a point system that applies to students.

Abstract

This article examines the mechanism of memory with a focus on three main components, namely information processing, storage, and information recall. Memory is a crucial cognitive element in enabling individuals to process, store, and access the information needed in various activities. Information processing includes the initial stage where the received information is encoded in order to be stored in a memory system. Information storage is divided into three types, namely sensory, short-term, and long-term memory, each of which has a different capacity and duration in retaining information. Information recall involves re-access to information that has been stored, and is influenced by various factors such as context, signals, and emotional states. Through a literature research approach, this article outlines the key theories in memory studies, and highlights how a deep understanding of memory processes can be applied in education to improve learning effectiveness

Abstract

Stunting is a serious, urgent public health problem in Indonesia. including in Bone Regency. Stunting is a persistent nutritional problem caused by a lack of adequate nutritional intake during a child's growth period, becoming one of the serious challenges in Indonesia. Stunting can potentially cause adverse consequences on children's physical growth and thinking capacity, as well as hinder their potential to achieve maximum achievement in the future. Based on data from the Bone District Health Service, The prevalence of stunting in Ajang Pulu Village in 2022 reached 32%. This shows that serious efforts need to be made to increase public awareness about stunting prevention in the village. The high prevalence of stunting in Ajang Pulu Village is caused by several factors, among others: Lack of public knowledge about stunting , including causes, impact, and its prevention. Child feeding practices that do not comply with balanced nutrition guidelines . Lack of access to adequate health and sanitation services and weak socio-economic conditions of the community . Low public awareness of stunting has resulted in slow efforts to prevent and overcome stunting in Ajang Pulu Village. Therefore, Efforts need to be made to increase public awareness about stunting through effective communication strategies. This community service research aims to develop effective communication strategies to increase public awareness about stunting prevention in Ajang Pulu Village.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing academic, social and personal pressure experienced by BPI IAIN Metro students in the digital era, which has a negative impact on mental health. Students often face various problems such as academic stress, confusion in choosing a career, and social pressure. The aim of this research is to measure the effectiveness of counseling chatbots in improving the mental health of students in the Islamic Counseling Guidance Study Program at IAIN Metro. The theory used involves the concept of mental health, which includes psychological well-being and psychological stress as well as cybercounseling based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology. This research is a quantitative experiment with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design to measure changes in students' stress levels and mental well-being before and after the counseling chatbot treatment. Samples were taken from BPI students who had low mental health, namely 15 students and data was collected using a Likert scale and analyzed using statistical analysis techniques. The results of the research show that chatbot counseling services are effective in improving students' mental well-being. After the intervention, there was a significant improvement in students' mental health, as evidenced by the results of the paired t-test and N-Gain test which showed a significant increase from pretest to posttest. Counseling chatbots are proving to be an innovative and practical solution to help students overcome mental health problems.

Abstract

Depression in adolescents is one of the increasing mental health problems in various parts of the world, including Indonesia. One of the extreme forms of depression that can occur is suicidal behavior. The family environment plays an important role in preventing suicidal behavior in adolescents, because the family is the first place to provide emotional and social support for the psychological development of adolescents. Therefore, efforts to create a family environment free from depression are very important in preventing suicidal behavior in adolescents. This study aims to explore various efforts that can be made by families to create an environment that supports adolescent mental health. This research is a qualitative – exploratory research. Participants in the research These are teenagers aged 12-18 years who tend to be depressed and have suicidal thoughts. and families living in the same house. The results of the study showed that family efforts in creating a depression-free family environment include open and empathetic communication, increasing awareness of mental health, providing stable emotional support, and strengthening emotional bonds between parents and children. In addition, education about the signs of depression in adolescents and the importance of seeking professional help are important aspects in suicide prevention. By creating a caring, responsive, and loving family, it is hoped that a safer atmosphere can be created for adolescents to express their feelings, thereby reducing the risk of suicidal behavior that can be caused by untreated depression.
