Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Product Quality and Museum Facilities on visitor satisfaction. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method. In this study, two hypotheses are being tested. The variables used in this study consist of independent variables, namely Product Quality (X1) and Facilities (X2), and a dependent variable, namely Visitor Satisfaction (Y). The data analysis tool used is IBM SPSS Statistics Version 26, with the analysis method being multiple linear regression. The sampling method used was purposive sampling, with a sample size of 100 respondents who had visited the Sonobudoyo Museum in Yogyakarta. The results of this study indicate that product quality significantly influences visitor satisfaction, while museum facilities do not significantly influence visitor satisfaction at the Sonobudoyo Museum in Yogyakarta. However, even though the facility aspect does not have a significant effect, it does not mean it can be ignored. Therefore, this study recommends that the Sonobudoyo Museum focus on improving and evaluating these aspects, especially the facility aspect, to create a better and more memorable cultural and historical tourism experience.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of food plating techniques on consumer satisfaction at Balek Kampoeng Café and Resto. In the modern culinary industry, food presentation plays a crucial role in shaping taste perceptions, aesthetic value, and the overall dining experience. Visually appealing plating techniques are expected to create a positive impression on customers and foster customer loyalty. This study adopts a quantitative approach using a survey method and distributes questionnaires to 100 purposively selected respondents, who were visitors with prior experience dining at the restaurant and exposed to its food presentation. The research instrument was tested for both validity and reliability. All questionnaire items were found to be valid (r > 0.194) and demonstrated high reliability, with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.901. Descriptive analysis revealed that consumers' perceptions of food plating and their satisfaction levels were both in the high category. The normality test showed that the data were normally distributed, with a significance value of p = 0.159. Furthermore, simple linear regression analysis indicated that food plating techniques had a significant effect on consumer satisfaction, with a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05) and an R Square value of 0.660. This means that 66% of the variation in consumer satisfaction is explained by the variation in the food presentation techniques applied.

Abstract

The Influence of Housekeeping Performance on Guest Satisfaction in the Housekeeping Department at Swiss-Belinn Manyar Surabaya. Supervised and supervised by Ibu. Diah Renata Anggraeni S.Tr. Par., M.M. The hotel industry is a service sector that relies heavily on service quality to create guest satisfaction. In hotel operations, the Housekeeping Department plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, comfort, and completeness of guest rooms. One key element in this department is the Swiss-Belinn Manyar Surabaya Housekeeping Attendant, who is directly responsible for maintaining and preparing rooms to ensure they are habiTabel according to hotel standards. This study aims to investigate the influence of housekeeping attendant performance on guest satisfaction in the Housekeeping Department at Swiss-BelInn Manyar Surabaya. Because this study aims to measure the influence between variables (X on Y), a quantitative approach is most appropriate. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed statistically using linear regression or correlation. The data analysis used in this study consisted of simple linear regression analysis using SPSS and Microsoft Excel with 100 respondents. The results of this study conclude that housekeeping attendant performance influences guest loyalty. This is evidenced by the significance probability score of Sig. = 0.000. The results show that the significance is less than 0.05 (Sig. <0.05), while the coefficient of influence of variable X on variable Y is 0.985, indicating a fairly strong relationship between housekeeping attendant performance and guest satisfaction in the housekeeping department, as the R value is less than 1.

Abstract

Papuma Beach is one of the leading natural tourism destinations in Jember Regency, with significant potential to support Indonesia’s national tourism development programs, which emphasise the sustainable utilisation of coastal areas. In developing this nature-based tourism potential, spatial planning strategies are required that go beyond aesthetic and functional considerations, incorporating environmental sustainability and disaster risk mitigation. These strategies must also address the conservation of natural resources and the preservation of local values. This study aims to formulate a management and spatial planning strategy for the Papuma Beach area, based on the principles of ecological architecture, with a focus on optimising local potential while preserving ecological integrity. The research was conducted in the Papuma Beach area, which has been designated as a priority tourism destination in Jember Regency. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, utilising data collection techniques such as field observations, stakeholder interviews, and comparative analyses of theoretical frameworks and relevant policies. The findings of this study present a spatial planning strategy that is adaptive to local characteristics, respects the cultural values of the surrounding community, and integrates environmental conservation principles, laying a foundation for the realisation of a sustainable tourism destination.

Abstract

Pematangsiantar, a city in North Sumatra, offers a variety of attractive tourism potentials, including the famous Pematangsiantar Zoo, natural spring sources, and historical attractions such as the Siantar rickshaw, which uses a BSA motorbike. The city's traditional culinary offerings are also a major draw, with dishes like roasted pork, pork hong, and wonton noodles reflecting the richness of local culture. The role of the English language in the tourism industry is becoming increasingly important, especially in promoting Pematangsiantar's traditional culinary heritage to international tourists. This study aims to analyze the role of English-language narratives in promoting traditional cuisine and their contribution to the local economic growth, particularly in increasing the income of culinary entrepreneurs. The research method employed is a qualitative approach, utilizing participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings are expected to reveal effective strategies for utilizing English narratives to promote traditional cuisine, support the increase in tourist visits, and contribute to the economic growth of Pematangsiantar. This research aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in reducing poverty, improving quality education, and fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the roles and challenges of accommodation management in supporting the sustainability of Taro Tourism Village, by examining the integration of cultural, local economic, and environmentally friendly aspects. The research adopts a qualitative approach with a case study method, focusing on field observations, in-depth interviews with homestay managers, village leaders, tourists, and regional policymakers, as well as a literature review based on the pentahelix theory. Data analysis was conducted through source and method triangulation to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of accommodation management in the tourism village. The findings reveal that most accommodations in Taro Tourism Village are still managed conventionally, with a low level of adoption of environmentally friendly practices and digitalization. The local community plays a dominant role in operational aspects but remains less involved in strategic decision-making and digital marketing. This gap has caused accommodations to function suboptimally as instruments of local economic empowerment. Nevertheless, there is great potential for developing community-based homestays through multi-stakeholder (pentahelix) collaboration, integration with digital marketing, and capacity-building in sustainable service and management. Conceptually, this study emphasizes the importance of repositioning accommodation as a strategic element of cultural tourism. Practically, the results offer policy recommendations to strengthen the competitiveness of tourism villages in Bali through the development of accommodations oriented toward sustainability, community participation, and digital technology.

Abstract

Women's empowerment is one of the crucial aspects that needs to be considered in the community empowerment stage. This study focuses on the role of women in the Ulos Hutaraja Tourism Village in supporting sustainable tourism development. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach with interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The results show that women's contributions can be seen through three main dimensions. First, the economic dimension, where women are able to increase family income while opening new business opportunities for the community. Second, the social dimension, where women's involvement in tourism activities strengthens solidarity, cooperation, and the active role of the community in maintaining the environment of the tourism village. Third, the cultural dimension, where women are the main actors in preserving the tradition of ulos weaving, which is the identity and main attraction of tourism in Ulos Hutaraja Village. However, the study also found several obstacles faced by women, such as limited business capital, managerial skills, digital promotion, and access to a wider market network. Therefore, support is needed from various parties, including the government, educational institutions, and tourism industry players, to provide training, mentoring, and supporting facilities. With this strengthening, women's role will not only focus on economic improvement, but also be able to realize sustainable tourism development that maintains a balance between economic, social, cultural, and environmental aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to design an ecotourism e-booklet on mangrove conservation for visitors of Angke Kapuk Nature Tourism Park (TWA Angke Kapuk) using a design thinking approach. The background of this research is the limited availability of interactive educational media in the park, which causes tourists to focus mainly on recreation without gaining a deeper understanding of mangrove conservation. A mixed methods approach was applied, combining surveys with 30 visitors, interviews with park managers, and design thinking stages including empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Initial surveys revealed a low satisfaction level with existing media (average score 2.93), while interest in a digital e-booklet was very high (86.7%). The developed prototype contains information about mangrove ecosystem functions, seedling processes, planting techniques, monitoring activities, and includes interactive quizzes as well as QR codes linking to videos. Testing results indicated a significant increase in visitor satisfaction (average 4.36) and conservation awareness, with respondents stating that the e-booklet provided new knowledge (mean 4.50) and raised awareness of the importance of protecting mangroves (mean 4.63). Thus, the e-booklet is proven effective as an interactive educational medium that supports conservation efforts and sustainable ecotourism development in TWA Angke Kapuk.

Abstract

The development of the Taman Eden 100 tourist attraction faces various challenges, such as a lack of marketing strategies, limited supporting facilities, and minimal community involvement in tourism management. This study aims to formulate a strategy for developing the Taman Eden 100 ecotourism destination in Lumban Julu District, Toba Regency. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of the study indicate that the development of the Taman Eden 100 ecotourism requires an integrated strategy that optimizes ecological strengths and educational values, improves internal weaknesses, takes advantage of ecotourism trend opportunities, and anticipates external threats. Through the integration of the results of the SWOT analysis, a development strategy is formulated that includes the development of interpretation routes and educational tour packages, improvements in accessibility and environmentally friendly facilities, strengthening digital promotions, conservation-based product differentiation, and the establishment of a multi-stakeholder cooperation forum. This approach is in line with the concept of Sustainable Community-Based Tourism (S-CBT) which emphasizes inclusivity and community empowerment, as well as the principles of Tourism 4.0 which utilizes digital technology to support destination sustainability. Thus, this study provides a theoretical contribution to the literature on community-based ecotourism and a practical contribution in the form of a strategic roadmap for the management of Taman Eden 100 to realize a competitive, sustainable, and educational destination. Expectations for future research: More in-depth research is needed on the role of local communities in implementing the designed ecotourism strategy, including the social, cultural, and economic factors that influence the extent of their involvement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze existing conditions and development strategies of Pulau Qeis natural tourism in Kampar Regency and design a 3D visualization model as an innovation to enhance destination attractiveness. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation techniques, involving Tourism Office, tourism managers, Pokdarwis, and local tourism activists. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing stages. Results indicate that Pulau Qeis possesses strengths in diverse water-based attractions, active community participation, and environmental conservation commitment. Main weaknesses include limited utilization of promotional technology and facility damage due to fluctuating dam water levels. The 3D visualization model developed using Google SketchUp and Lumion software produced a floating house concept adaptive to geographical conditions while creating new tourist attractions. This visualization functions as both development blueprint and effective promotional medium. The study recommends integrated management strategies based on sustainable tourism, diversification of digital promotion technology, implementation of floating house concept to strengthen competitiveness, and systematic program development considering the balance between economic utilization and environmental conservation.
