Abstract

Early breastfeeding initiation (IMD) is one of the factors that influence uterine involution. IMD can stimulate and release hormones, including the hormone oxytocin, which functions in addition to stimulating contraction of breast smooth muscles, also causes contraction and retraction of uterine muscles. This will compress the blood vessels resulting in reduced blood supply to the uterus. In women who choose to breastfeed their babies, the baby's suction will stimulate the release of oxytocin and help the uterus return to its normal shape. This study aims to determine the relationship of Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) to uterine involution in post partum at PMB Mariyah Ulfah East Jakarta which was conducted in May-August 2024. The type of research used in this study is quantitative research. This study used a Cross Sectional approach. The sample technique used in this study was total sampling of 30 people. The research instruments used were metline and observation sheet. The results of this study identified that there was a difference in TFU reduction in mothers who did , Early initiation of breastfeeding (IMD) and those who did not do IMD, so there was a relationship between Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) to Uterine Involution during the nifaas period at PMB Mariyah Ulfah East Jakarta, where the p-value = 0.006 (0.006 <0.05)

Abstract

Objective Structured Clinical Assessment (OSCA) is one of the evaluation methods used in nursing education to assess students' clinical competence. However, the OSCA exam often causes significant anxiety for nursing students due to high academic and professional demands. Anxiety is a common emotional response experienced by individuals in the face of stressful or challenging situations. One way to reduce anxiety is with good social support. Social support is the opinion of others who tell that individuals need affection, attention, valued, respected, and involved. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between social support and the level of anxiety experienced by undergraduate nursing students in facing the OSCA exam. The type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The study population was nursing students totalling 572 respondents. This research uses the spearman test, and this research was conducted from August to Septembe. Researchers used non-probability sampling with purposive sampling method, the research sample above showed 90 people to become respondents with inclusion criteria (1. Active students of semester II, IV, IV of the Nursing Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta who took the OSCA exam, 2. Students take the OSCA exam directly on the appointed day, 3. Willing to fill out the research questionnaire). Measurement of social support using the MSPSS (Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support) questionnaire and the HARS (Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale) questionnaire for anxiety levels. The results showed that the majority of respondents had moderate social support with 35 respondents (38.9%) and severe anxiety 27 respondents (30%). Data analysis using Spearman Test. Spearmen correlation test results obtained a p-value significance of 0.001 <0.05 and a correlation coefficient value of 0.767. The conclusion of the study is that there is a relationship between social support and anxiety levels in nursing undergraduate students when facing OSCA exams.

Abstract

Anatomical knowledge is essential for science and clinical skills. Learning outcomes can be influenced by the choice of learning media, such as the computer-based Anatomage and Cadaver-based methods. This study examines the relationship between students' preferred anatomy learning media and their practical exam scores. A correlative analytic method with a retrospective cohort approach was used, involving 372 medical students from the Faculty of Medicine, Muslim University of Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling. Inclusion criteria included students who had completed anatomy courses and participated in practical exams. Bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test showed a significant relationship between preferred media and exam scores (p-value < 0.05). Students with a strong preference for Anatomage achieved a higher pass rate (95%) and demonstrated better comprehension of anatomical structures compared to those favoring cadaver-based learning. These findings emphasize the effectiveness of Anatomage as a learning tool in enhancing anatomy education. In conclusion, the choice of learning media significantly impacts practical exam performance, with Anatomage proving to be a highly effective medium.

Abstract

Premarital sexual behavior has become a significant social issue among adolescents in Indonesia, particularly concerning the high rates of child marriage and unintended pregnancies. Despite efforts to promote Marriage Maturity to reduce these rates, its effectiveness requires further investigation, especially in the context of adolescent motivation to avoid risky sexual behavior. This study aims to explore adolescent motivation to avoid premarital sexual behavior by applying the Protection Motivation Theory (PMT), which involves threat appraisal and coping appraisal in adolescent decision-making to delay early marriage. This research employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Informant consisted of adolescents aged 15-19 years in Samarinda City who had received information about marriage maturity. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with six purposively selected Informant using intensity sampling techniques. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and documentation. Collected data were analyzed using QSR NVIVO 12 Pro. The findings reveal that adolescents’ understanding of marriage maturityis still limited, and the threat of premarital sexual behavior is perceived as low by most Informant. Factors such as perceptions of severity adolescents are quite good because they have seen firsthand the impacts of premarital sex. For response efficacy and self-efficacy in delaying the age of marriage, these are relatively high among adolescents exposed to PUP. This is because they have parental and peer support providing information related to PUP. Additionally, social environment, media exposure, and education levels shape adolescents' responses to marriage maturityas a protective measure.

Abstract

Background: Technological advances are making activities easier. The convenience gained hurts daily life, such as laziness in exercise and reluctance to gather and communicate actively, especially among teenagers. Physical fitness is essential in improving cardiovascular health, including heart and blood vessel endurance and vital lung capacity. Maximum oxygen volume (VO2 max) can be used to assess a person’s cardiorespiratory endurance. This study aimed to use a 6-minute walk test to measure VO2 max and the lungs’ vital capacity. Methods: The method used a pre-experiment with total sampling, namely 118 student respondents. These tools include emergency equipment, a stopwatch to calculate running time, colourful markers to indicate the path, and traffic cones for additional markers, using the Borg Breathing Difficulty Scale to check how difficult it is for respondents to breathe. Analysis used the Wilcoxon test because the normality assumption is not met. Results: The results showed that the relationship between the distance of the 6-minute walk test and vital lung capacity was indicated by a p-value of 0.000 (P<0.05), and the relationship between the distance of the 6-minute walk test and VO2 max was marked by a p-value of 0.000 (P<0.05). Physical fitness is essential in improving cardiovascular health, including heart and blood vessel endurance and lung vital capacity. Conclusion: This study concludes that there is a relationship between the 6-minute walk test and vital lung capacity and VO2 max.
