Empowerment Journal : jurnal pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah terbitan berkala nasional yang memuat artikel dari hasil diseminasi kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang berbasis research dalam bidang keilmuan multidisiplin, yaitu pendidikan, teknik informasi, sosial humaniora, manajemen, dan kesehatan. Empowerment Journal diharapkan dapat menjadi media untuk menyampaikan hasil kolaborasi dalam penerapan keilmuan dan inovasi ilmiah di bidang multidisiplin kepada para praktisi dan akademisi. Abstract

This training aimed to improve the quality of learning in Junior High Schools (Sekolah Menengah Pertama, SMP) in Pulau Panjang Timur through active learning method training for teachers. The quality of education in remote areas such as Pulau Panjang Timur often faces challenges such as limited access to innovative teaching methods and low student engagement in the learning process. Therefore, training in active learning methods serves as a solution to enhance student participation, improve understanding of subject matter, and strengthen teachers' teaching skills. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method involving observations and in-depth interviews with teachers and students who participated in the training. The results show that the active learning method training successfully improved teacher competence. Prior to the training, the teachers’ understanding of digital media was only at 58% (categorized as "adequate"). However, after conducting intensive training and mentoring for three days, the post-training evaluation revealed a significant improvement, reaching 84% (categorized as "good"). Trained teachers were also able to manage classrooms more effectively and implement more creative techniques, supporting a more enjoyable and interactive learning environment. However, the study also identified challenges, particularly the lack of facilities and infrastructure, which affects the full implementation of active methods. Therefore, further support from the government and related stakeholders is needed to improve educational facilities and resources in the region. This research provides a positive contribution to the development of more inclusive and relevant teaching methods for the Pulau Panjang Timur area

Abstract

Physical fitness is a crucial aspect for the elderly to maintain independence and quality of life. The decline in bodily functions with age often leads to a decrease in their fitness. Regular and planned interventions are needed to maintain their physical condition. This community service activity aims to improve the physical fitness of the elderly through outreach and the practice of elderly exercises at Posyandu Melati Arum Jebres Surakarta. The method used in the outreach was a participatory rural appraisal approach, involving the active participation of 24 elderly individuals at Posyandu Melati Arum Jebres Surakarta. The results of the community service prior to the activity showed that 83% of the elderly understood the benefits of the exercise, while 17% did not. After the activity was implemented, 92% of the elderly at the Posyandu understood the benefits of the elderly exercise, and 8% did not. This exercise has now become a routine program at the Posyandu

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan media smart box dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas II pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SDN Petapan 1 Bangkalan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket motivasi bellajar berdasarkan indikator teori ARCS (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa setelah menggunakan media smart box. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,776 atau 77,57% yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media smart box efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa sekolah dasar. Guru disarankan untuk menggunakan media pembelajran inovatif guna menciptakan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas mahasiswa di bidang kecerdasan buatan (AI) dan keamanan siber melalui pelatihan dan workshop yang dirancang berbasis Standar Kompetensi Kerja Nasional Indonesia (SKKNI) No. 55 Tahun 2015. Program ini menyasar mahasiswa Program Studi Sistem Informasi dan Teknologi Informasi dari mitra, yang masih memiliki keterbatasan dalam pengetahuan serta keterampilan praktis terkait ancaman digital. Metode pelaksanaan menggabungkan pelatihan langsung, pembelajaran berbasis proyek, dan e-learning mandiri. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada skor pre-test dan post-test peserta, penyelesaian proyek mini berbasis unit kompetensi, serta kepuasan tinggi terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan. Selain dampak langsung, kegiatan ini juga mendorong terbentuknya komunitas belajar keamanan siber di kampus mitra dan peningkatan kesadaran digital peserta. Kendala teknis seperti keterbatasan perangkat dan pemahaman awal diatasi melalui pendekatan bertahap dan alternatif media pembelajaran. Program ini terbukti efektif dalam memperkuat kesiapan mahasiswa menghadapi tantangan keamanan digital dan berpotensi dikembangkan lebih lanjut secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

'Aisyiyah's group empowerment programme in Kedungtuban Sub-district, Blora Regency, was motivated by the high number of fires and the low disaster literacy of the community, especially women. This research aims to increase the community's capacity in fire prevention and management through an educative and participatory approach. The method used was a combination of participatory education and action research, which included socialisation, training, simulation and evaluation. The results of the activities showed a significant increase in participants‘ knowledge, with 85.7% of respondents achieving a post-test score above 130 out of 150. Findings also showed that factors such as age, educational background and intensity of engagement influenced participants’ understanding. The programme not only improved technical preparedness, but also built collective awareness through a community-based approach. Innovations such as the use of digital media and real condition-based simulations are recommended for further programme development. Empowering ‘Aisyiyah groups proved effective as a strategy to strengthen community resilience to fire risk in the domestic environment

Abstract

Chronic diseases are a major health problem in Indonesia, including in Semarang City, with risk factors affecting 37% of the adult population in RW XI P4A, Pudakpayung Village. However, the capacity of Posbindu ILP cadres for the prevention and management of chronic diseases is still low. This community service program aims to improve the capacity of cadres through Posbindu ILP management training. The method used was descriptive quantitative with a pre-post intervention approach applied to 20 cadres. The intervention included theoretical material on administration, service flow, early detection of chronic disease risk factors, counselling, and referral, as well as simulated practice of service flow, manual and digital recording, and role-play counselling and referral. Data were collected through questionnaires and practice observation and analysed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed significant improvements in all aspects: understanding of governance (p=0.003), recording and reporting (p=0.001), early detection of chronic disease risks (p=0.006), counselling and health education (p=0.008), and referral and follow-up of participants (p=0.010). Self-confidence (95%) and teamwork (100%) also increased. This training has proven effective in improving the capacity of cadres. It is recommended that mentoring and further training be provided on a regular basis, that record-keeping and administration be standardised, and that community participation continue to be increased in order to maintain the sustainability of ILP Posbindu services

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the quality of worship of employees at Muhammadiyah Selogiri Hospital in accordance with the Muhammadiyah Tarjih Decisions Association. This activity was carried out in the form of Baitul Arqam activities held at the Pondok Sari 1 Hotel, Tawangmangu, Karanganyar, Central Java. This training focused on worship procedures such as prayer, fasting, zakat, as well as strengthening Muhammadiyah ideology so that employees are not only professional in their health care duties, but also become role models in religious practices in the workplace and community. The methods used included lectures, discussions, worship simulations, and self-reflection. This activity was attended by all ± 80 employees of Muhammadiyah Selogiri Hospital and guided by competent speakers in the field of Muhammadiyah tarjih. Evaluation was carried out through pre-tests and post-tests, observations of worship practices, and participant feedback as a basis for improving the development program in the future. The results of the community service program showed an increase in understanding and practice of correct worship according to tarjih, as well as the formation of a strong Islamic work culture in Muhammadiyah charitable efforts
