Abstract

Acne vulgaris is defined as an inflammation of the pilosebaceous follicles that generally occurs in adolescents and young adults. Stress is one of the causes that is multifactorial. Stress can increase androgen hormones as well as increased sebum production and also stimulates keratinocytes. Increased production of high sebum accompanied by an increase in keratinocytes can lead to the appearance of acne vulgaris. This study was aimed at determining the relationship between stress levels and the severity of acne vulgaris of SMA Negeri 5 Denpasar students. This study used a quantitative analysis method design with a cross sectional approach. Purposive sampling technique was used to select research subjects and 212 twelfth grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Denpasar were selected as the sample. Data was collected using the DASS-21 questionnaire and physical examination of the facial area. It was analysed using technique of univariate and bivariate analysis using the Spearman correlation test. Univariate results showed that the majority of students were female (65.1%), 18-year-old (53.5%), with mild stress level (63.2%), and having mild acne (81.6%). The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between stress levels and the severity of acne vulgaris of the twelfth grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Denpasar (p = 0.001) with a strong correlation level and a positive direction (r = 0.571). Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between stress levels and the severity of acne vulgaris of twelfth grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Denpasar.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are a collection of conditions that affect musculoskeletal system at the extreme points of the body in the upper and lower extremities. Some of the main factors that trigger these complaints are overstretching the muscles, repetitive movements, and unnatural work attitudes. Lifting workers generally work using their bodies as a means of transportation. In addition, this work requires a large amount of energy, so workers are often more concerned with getting the job done quickly without considering work attitudes while working. The primary objective of this research is to examine how the work ethics of lift workers at Lely Minimarket are linked to the occurrence of musculoskeletal complaints. The research employed a cross-sectional observational analytic method. This study utilized a total sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out univariately and bivariate with the SPSS 25 version. According to the results that highest proportion of lift workers were male, in the early adult age category, and worked 7-12 hours per day. Most of the workers (72.5%) have a normal body mass index and 64% have a working period of <5 years. Based on the result, the most respondents (55%) had a very high risk work attitude in the form of a bent back, upper arms raised and away from the body, and neck flexion-extension. MSDs complaints experienced by the majority of respondents were in the high category, especially in the area of the waist (92.5%), back (87.5%) and upper arms (85%). The Spearman Correlation test analysis yielded results that indicated a significant correlation between work attitude and musculoskeletal complaints (r = 0.600, p <0.05) in lift workers supplying Lely Denpasar Minimarket. Based on the results acquired, it is important to improve the work attitude of workers as soon as possible so that there is a decrease in the level of MSD complaints, in the form of providing lifting aids aimed at business owners.

Abstract

[The Correlation Between BMI and Cardiorespiratory Endurance in FKIK UNWAR Student with Central Obesity] The Correlation Between BMI and Cardiorespiratory Endurance in FKIK Unwar Student with Central Obesity Cardiorespiratory endurance is the ability of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels in providing oxygen for muscle performance during rhythmic and sustained activity. Body Mass Index (BMI) is one of the factors that can affect the level of cardiorespiratory endurance. However, this measurement cannot measure the proportion of body fat as in someone with central obesity. A person with normal BMI can have a proportion of body fat > 30%, and if distributed as visceral fat will have a high association with cardiometabolic risk. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between BMI and cardiorespiratory endurance in Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Warmadewa University student with central obesity. The design of this study was observational analytic with cross sectional approach. This study was conducted on 60 students with central obesity. Body Mass Index was measured using equation body weight (kg)/the square of height (m), while the level of cardiorespiratory endurance was measured using Harvard Step Up Test. The data was analyzed by Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 18.0 for Windows program. The correlation between both variable were analyzed by Spearman correlation test. The results was showed as follow: the average score Weist Circumference, BMI and cardiorespiratory endurance were 91,0±8; 29.01±3.01; and 18.61±8.40, respectively and the correlations between both were negatif (p=000 and r=0.51). The conclusion could be drawn that there was significance correlation between BMI and cardiorespiratory endurance. Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is chronic disease associated with various complications. Measurement of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) can be used as a standard for monitoring and risk indicators for DM complications. Increased levels of Free Fatty Acid (FFA) cause total cholesterol in type 2 DM to increase. Several studies have shown different results regarding the relationship between total cholesterol and HbA1c levels, so researchers are interested in re-examining the correlation of total cholesterol with HbA1c in type 2 DM patients. This research re-examined the correlation of total cholesterol and HbA1c levels in type 2 DM patients. The research was carried out which aimed to determine the correlation of total cholesterol with HbA1c in type 2 DM patients at Tabanan Hospital in the period January 1st – December 31st, 2021. This type of research is cross-sectional analytic observational research from secondary data sources (medical records) taken by consecutive sampling. Then the data was analyzed using the Pearson test through Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS). Based on research starting in August-November 2022, samples that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were 54 samples. From these samples, the average total cholesterol level was 225 mg/dl and the average HbA1c level was 8.8%. Pearson correlation test results obtained r = 0.371 (weak positive correlation) and p-value = 0.006, therefore it can be stated that total cholesterol and HbA1c levels have a significant relationship in type 2 DM patients.
