Abstract

Early childhood social and emotional development often faces challenges such as the emergence of negative behaviors including aggressiveness, lack of discipline, and difficulties in emotional regulation. These conditions highlight the need for effective intervention strategies to foster positive behaviors, particularly in terms of discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and self-control. This study aims to systematically analyze the effectiveness of the token economy in modifying the behavior of children aged 3–6 years by emphasizing implementation consistency, the role of educators, parental involvement, and cultural relevance. A systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA approach, analyzing 25 articles published between 2019 and 2024. Data were collected through literature selection based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and analyzed thematically to identify patterns of intervention effectiveness. The results indicate that token economy interventions consistently enhance prosocial behavior and reduce disruptive behavior, especially when supported by teacher training and family engagement. The study concludes that token economy can be integrated into early childhood education curricula as a positive reinforcement-based behavior management strategy. Further implications highlight the importance of longitudinal studies to explore its long-term impact on children’s character development.

Abstract

Communication, creativity, and leadership are essential skills that individuals must possess to compete in a globalized world, preserve natural resources, and maintain environmental sustainability. Therefore, these variables are considered important. However, the current situation shows the opposite, many young people face obstacles in developing their creativity, communication, and leadership skills, which are influenced by various factors. The purpose of this study is to describe the communication, creativity, and leadership abilities of school-age children. The research subjects consisted of 40 school-age children aged 11–15 years. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach to examine the profile of communication, creativity, and leadership skills. Data were collected through questionnaires and tests: the questionnaire was used to measure communication and leadership skills, while creativity was assessed using a written test adapted to the children’s developmental level. Data analysis was carried out using an interactive model consisting of three main components: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing (verification). The findings revealed that most school-age children demonstrated moderate levels of communication, creativity, and leadership skills. However, creativity appeared to face significant challenges, with the majority of children categorized as having insufficient levels of creativity. Several factors contribute to this condition, including low socioeconomic status, suboptimal teaching methods that fail to encourage creativity, unsupportive learning environments, low student motivation, and limited educational facilities. The implications of this study highlight the need for the development of more innovative, participatory, and well-supported educational strategies to enhance communication, creativity, and leadership skills among school-age children.
