Abstract

Rhizophora stylosa is a type of mangrove used for various purposes, including as a source of charcoal and firewood. This type of mangrove is also used in traditional medicines for mangosteen, wounds, toothache, lucid, liver, and itching. It is possible because these species contain secondary metabolites (bioactive). This study aimed to identify secondary metabolites from the root extract of Rhizophora stylosa accession from Morotai Island. Root samples of R. stylosa were obtained from Pandanga Village, South Morotai, Morotai Island. Extraction by maceration using methanol. Secondary metabolites are identified qualitatively, including alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids, triterpenoids, and steroids. The yield of the methanol extract of Rhizophora stylosa root was determined to be 26.42%, with a dry paste-like consistency. Alkaloids and saponins were the secondary metabolite compounds identified in the extract.

Abstract

Malacca Regency is one of the regencies in East Nusa Tenggara Province as a producer of “tenun ikat” fabrics which have a distinctive style using natural dyes. The increased exploitation and use of ZPA sourced from plants will cause a reduction in natural dyes and pose a threat to their availability. The increasing need for the use of plants as natural dyes causes a reduction in natural dyes and poses a threat to their availability. This study aims to determine the identification and distribution of natural dye plants that are used by woven craftsmen in Malacca Regency is needed as a conservation effort to ensure the availability of dye plants. The dye plants found and used by woven woven craftsmen in Malacca Regency (Builaran Village, Lakulo, Babotin Maemina Village and Litamali Village) totaling 18 identified species consisting of 11 families namely Rubiceae, Fabaceae, Aracaceae, Lamiaceae, Phyllanthus, Rhizoporaceae, Myrtaceae, Meliaceae, Symplocaceae, Zingiberacea. On the distribution map, the dye plant species Symplocos SP from the Symplocaceae family was not found. Natural coloring plants can also grow varied on each slope.

Abstract

Lift net used for fishing is outfitted with a number of facilities that, in theory, are highly crucial to the production process. Technical units can refer to these auxiliary equipment such boats, waring, lights, and rollers. Fishermen tend to increase the technical unity of the lift net, according to subjective habits and opinions without ensuring effectively and efficiently. The study aimed to: 1) define the lift net fishery, which covers fishing units and how they operate; and 2) analyzing the technical factors of production that play a role in the lift net fisheries. The research was conducted in the village of Babaneigo in June 2022. A survey method including interview techniques and direct measurements was used to acquire the data. To conduct interviews, questionnaires were given out to respondents, who were fishers and owners of a certain chart. The information gathered includes information on the size of the boat, the size of the net, the number and intensity of lights, the number of trips made each month, the number of hauls made each night, the amount of gasoline used, and the duration of net immersion. Ship, net, and hauling time dimensions are among the data that require direct measurement verification. With a F count of 31.46 > 3.48, the result indicated that production technical parameters overall had a considerable impact on production. The two main variables that significantly impact the lift net production are the light capacity factor and the number of trips.

Abstract

Seaweed (sea weeds) is a fishery product that is not in the form of fish, but in the form of plants. The potential for seaweed as a non-oil and gas export commodity has bright economic prospects, to be cultivated both from the aspect of cultivation and business opportunities. This study aims to determine the role of post-harvest technology on the level of income of seaweed farmers. This research was conducted in Sapolohe, Bonto Bahari District, Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia with a total of 13 respondents who were selected by purvosive sampling method. The average income of respondent farmers using post-harvest technology is Rp. 9,160,000 and non-technologically Rp. 4,760,000. From the research it was concluded that the use of post-harvest technology on seaweed provides twice as much income compared to not using post-harvest technology.
