Caries are a dental hard tissue disease in the form of a demineralization process of dental hard tissue caused by bacterial activity in the oral cavity. Caries are the most common dental and oral health problem in society. One of the causes of caries is bacteria. Bacteria break down carbohydrate substrates attached to the oral cavity and form plaque. Bacterial activity continues as the pH of the oral cavity becomes more acidic. This condition causes decalcification of the enamel, forming white spot lesions that signal the start of the caries process. Prior to the counseling, a pre-test was first conducted, then interviewed the students to measure their level of knowledge. The realization of activities can increase salivary pH by using toothpaste containing baking soda in preventing caries and increasing students' ability to brush their teeth properly and correctly. The results of community service activities showed that knowledge before counseling was in a good category as many as 7 students (23.3%) increased by 26 students (86.7%) after counseling. It was concluded that there was an increase in children's knowledge about toothpaste containing baking soda which had the effect of increasing salivary pH. Keywords: Caries, Saliva pH, Baking Soda

Efforts to maintain dental and oral health should be carried out from this age. Elementary school age is an ideal time to train a child's motor skills, including brushing teeth. Good brushing habits must be formed at a young age because plaque control is very important for maintaining oral and dental health. In an initial survey conducted by 10 grade VI children at SDN AL-FITYAN Aceh Besar, it was found that 80% of children had poor OHIS criteria, which ranged from 1.9-3.0. The purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge about how to properly control plaque in SD AL-FITYAN Aceh Besar children and improve the dental and oral hygiene status of elementary school students. In this community service, dental and oral health improvement was carried out by correct plaque control for AL-FITYAN Aceh Besar elementary school children, using the Lecture, Question, and Answer, Demonstration, Discussion, and Simulation methods. The results of community service that have been carried out are an increase in student knowledge in maintaining oral and dental hygiene in AL-FITYAN SD Aceh Besar students, with an increase before the intervention (pre-test) in the poor category (66.7%) and after the intervention ( post-test) was in a good category (96.7%), There was an increase in the dental and oral hygiene status of SD AL-FITYAN Aceh Besar students, with an increase before the intervention (pre-test) in the very poor category (53.3%) and after the intervention (post-test) was in a good category (93.3%). It is recommended to the school to carry out counseling activities and brush teeth together regularly and involve parents, UKS teachers, and teachers to improve the dental and oral hygiene status of children. The government advises the public to adhere to health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19. But in reality, there are still people who carry out activities outside the home without wearing a mask or wearing a mask but placing it on their chin without covering their nose and ears. The use of masks that are not good will increase the risk of transmission of COVID-19. This is what encourages the community service team to increase community knowledge and behavior about the correct use of masks and also through health education activities specifically for high-risk groups such as teenagers, pregnant women, mothers with toddlers, and the elderly. This service uses the Healthy Education method as an effort to provide information about the importance of maintaining health as one of the ways to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. Public dental health, especially in children, really needs to be considered, because childhood is very susceptible to dental and oral diseases. Dental nursing care carried out by dental nurses is aimed at improving the degree of dental health. The role of the family by motivate children to get used to maintaining dental hygiene. Community service aims to improve the status of dental and oral hygiene through home visits to toddlers in Lheu Blang village, Aceh Besar. This community service is carried out using a descriptive method, with the target of 30 children under five in Lheu Blang village. The intervention is a visit to a toddler's house by providing guidance, direction, demonstration, and training children to brush their teeth properly and correctly. The results obtained that the dental and oral hygiene status of toddlers before the intervention was in the very bad category (53.3%), and the results after the intervention were in a good category (66.7%). The conclusion is that there is an increase in the status of dental hygiene in the good category (66.7%). Children need strong and healthy teeth not only to chew food but also to pronounce words. Dental care from an early age is an important step for healthy children's teeth. Children with special needs are children with special characteristics that are different from children in general without always showing mental, emotional, or physical incapacity. SLB YBSM Banda Aceh is a foundation that specifically accommodates people with disabilities. Based on interviews with school principals where the children are deaf, physically disabled, and blind (Tuna Graphite). This community service aims to improve actions on how to brush teeth properly and correctly and reduce dental and oral hygiene status in children. at the SLB YBSM Lamjabat Banda Aceh City. This community service was carried out using a descriptive method, with the target of 30 teachers and students as respondents at the YBSM Special School in Banda Aceh City. Elderly is a process of changing the function of body tissues and organs, there is a decrease in the ability of various body tissues. The decrease in this condition occurs in various organs of the body, including weakened memory, sensory changes, and changes in dental and oral health. Dental and oral problems can affect the nutritional status and health of the elderly. The number of malnourished elderly in Indonesia is 3.4% and 96% of the elderly experience dental caries. Seeing this phenomenon, the health of the elderly needs to be improved, especially dental and oral health so that there is a nutritional balance and affects the general condition of the elderly. This is the background for the service team to provide training on "Improving behavior change and the role of families who have the elderly". This activity was held in the village of Kayee Leu, Aceh Besar, with preventive and promotive methods. The participants were 30 people, namely elderly cadres and families. The activity lasts for 1 day with a duration of 4 (four) hours. Through this activity, it is hoped that the skills and understanding of participants who have elderly people will increase. Peer Counselor Training in Dental Health Maintenance of Students at SD Negeri 47 Banda Aceh. The School Dental Health System (UKGS) is one of the most relevant health efforts in the implementation of the prevention of dental and oral diseases. This program is intended to improve the dental and oral health of all students in schools who need dental and oral health care. UKGS at SDN 47 Banda Aceh City is still less active due to the lack of facilities and infrastructure that support implementation. This Community Service aims to improve the skills of peer counselors in maintaining dental health at SDN 47 Banda Aceh so that they can provide an example to other SDN 47 students in maintaining oral and dental hygiene to achieve healthy living behaviors and improve the quality of human resources. Based on the results of community service at SDN 47 Banda Aceh City, it shows that the highest percentage of peer counselors' knowledge before training was in the unfavorable category, amounting to 14 people (70%), and after training on dental and improved good amounted to 20 people (100%). The conclusion from the results of this service is that there is an increase in the knowledge of peer counselors about maintaining dental and oral health, so it is hoped that peer counselors at SDN 47 Banda Aceh can apply this knowledge every day and teach back to friends at school. Dental caries are damage to tooth tissue starting from tooth enamel to spreading to dentin. To maintain this hardness, the enamel is in dire need of a chemical ion called fluorine. Lack of fluor can also cause tooth decay. In this community service, the community's knowledge about fluoride was increased to prevent dental caries by using the Lecture, Question and Answer, Demonstration, Discussion, and Simulation methods. Based on the results of community service that has been carried out, it can be concluded that there is an increase in public knowledge about fluor in preventing dental caries in the Lamraya Aceh Besar village community. Foods are characterized as having substances that are unfit for consumption because they have elements that are damaging to health. the existence of studies conducted by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency that revealed the presence of hazardous preservatives like borax and formalin in components used to make street food, including meatballs, wet noodles, and salted fish that is sold in the market. The entire sample (100%) yielded negative findings for the borax test. The formalin test findings on 25 samples of noodles revealed that all 25 samples (100%) contained formalin, with a level of 4.71 mg/L. Since March 2015, tests have been done on food distributed near Aceh Besar. 98 food samples were evaluated during those three months and borax testing results for 18 of them. Yellow noodles, batagor, and fried meatballs are typically the ones with dangerous ingredients. The goal of the activity is to teach moms how to identify the presence of borax and formalin in snacks and to make them aware of the risks these substances represent to their health. research techniques using counseling and demonstration. From July 22 through July 24, 2017, the event took place in Sumber Jaya Village, Timang Gajah District, Bener Meriah Regency. A total of about 30 moms who were in groups for routine recitation and mothers of toddlers participated in the therapy. Results To be more persuasive, a food test kit is delivered to compare the outcomes of turmeric extract with those from current tools. In this service, the demonstration uses tools, including making a straightforward turmeric extract using a blender and filter. The use of visual aids helps the audience understand the demonstration's workings because they can observe and analyze actual objects. Making extracts is a technique used by respondents in counseling. The purpose of the practical exercise was to give the participants practice identifying formaldehyde and borax. ABSTRAK Pemetaan masalah kesehatan merupakan upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi besarnya masalah serta penentuan program dan prioritas kesehatan yang dapat diaplikasikan pada suatu lokasi. Pembenahan dapat dilakukan melalui upaya-upaya pemerintah, swasta maupun organisasi untuk memperbaiki dan meningkatkan taraf hidup, kualitas kesehatan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Masalah kesehatan di Indonesia mengalami pergeseran dari beberapa dekade lalu yang diakibatkan oleh penyakit menular, kini menjadi penyakit tidak menular. Selain itu, pergeseran penderita penyakit juga terjadi yang tadinya banyak diidap saat masa tua, kini mulai menghantui orang-orang muda. Riskesdas 2018 menunjukkan prevalensi Penyakit Tidak Menular mengalami kenaikan jika dibandingkan dengan Riskesdas 2013, antara lain kanker, stroke, penyakit ginjal kronis, diabetes melitus, dan hipertensi. Prevalensi kanker naik dari 1,4% menjadi 1,8%; prevalensi stroke naik dari 7% menjadi 10,9%; dan penyakit ginjal kronik naik dari 2% menjadi 3,8%. Berdasarkan pemeriksaan gula darah, diabetes melitus naik dari 6,9% menjadi 8,5%; dan hasil pengukuran tekanan darah, hipertensi naik dari 25,8% menjadi 34,1%.
