An applied science paper is based on original research related to community engagement program. The kind of research depends on your field or the topic of community engagement (a program that has been done, an experiment, the impact of your program, survey, interview, questionnaire, etc.). The research paper will be based on the analysis and interpretation between theory and community engagement program and you need to explain the problems faced by the local community where the program is conducted. Jurnal Pengabdian invites lecturers, students and community service activists to send manuscripts that discuss relevant topics with the focus above. Manuscripts are written using an academic approach or scientific method by presenting data on the impact of community service activities that have been carried out. The themes are written must have an impact or can be generalized to local, regional or national populations. Jurnal Pengabdian only considers the original paper for publication. It means that the manuscript has not been published and not considered to be published in another journal. Jurnal Pengabdian does not consider multiple submissions and redundant publications to be included.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a transition between life before and after the birth of a child. This change is considered a period of undergoing a preparation process both physically and psychologically. Complaints caused by an enlarged stomach, anatomical changes and hormonal changes will cause complaints in pregnant women such as low back pain, back pain, swelling and cramps in the legs. Efforts to overcome this include exercise and relaxation exercises that are suitable for pregnant women, namely pregnancy exercises. The aim of this activity is to reduce complaints of back pain in third trimester pregnant women. Activities are carried out for all pregnant women at the Susi Midwife Practice. Activities are carried out by providing pregnancy exercise interventions. The time required is 20 minutes. There is a decrease in back pain in pregnant women.

Abstract

This service aims to increase the knowledge and skills of the Jaya Bersama Farmer Group in Tanjung Dalama Village, South Curup Subdistrict, Rejang Lebong Regency, in coffee breeding using the cuttings method by giving onion extract as a root growth stimulant. The implementation method was carried out through a series of theoretical and practical training, focusing on the coffee seedling stage. Farmer groups were involved in intensive counselling and training activities, including the delivery of theory on coffee seedling, demonstration of the application of the cuttings method, and application of shallot extract. Furthermore, a field practice session was held at the farmer group leader's house. The results showed a significant improvement in the Jaya Bersama Farmer Group's understanding and skills related to coffee breeding using the cuttings method and onion extract application. They were able to apply these techniques well, producing high-quality coffee seedlings that have the potential to increase the productivity and income of the farmer group as a whole. Thus, this service successfully empowered the farmer group through innovation in their farming practices.

Abstract

The aim of this outreach is to increase the knowledge and awareness of students at Ratu Samban University, North Bengkulu about the magnitude of the dangers of cigarettes for passive smokers around them. This socialization was attended by 30 students from Ratu Samban University, North Bengkulu. This socialization is carried out by providing material regarding the bad effects of cigarettes on passive smokers and discussions about prevention that can be carried out by the community as a form of prevention so that they are not exposed to passive smoking, namely 1) Avoid gathering with people who smoke by looking for a place that has fresh air free of cigarette smoke, 2) Prohibit people from smoking at home, this is useful for protecting yourself and your family from exposure to cigarette smoke, 3) When you are in a public place, such as an office, cafe or restaurant, choose a room that is smoke-free, 4) Use a mask regularly. correctly when leaving the house to avoid exposure to cigarette smoke, 5) Politely remind smokers who smoke anywhere.

Abstract

Ethics is a very general thing, meaning that ethics is what every human being must know, in social life, but when it becomes a principle of right and wrong in the behavior of every human being, communication is seen as having multiple meanings and is complex, this is because communication is a social phenomenon that can be interpreted in various ways. Even though the phenomenon of communication remains and does not change, the understanding of this phenomenon can differ from one person to another. Many people don't understand how to carry out good and correct communication ethics in the surrounding environment and the most dominant is among children. Very many children lack ethics among their parents at home and at school. The aim of this community service activity is to provide outreach or counseling to students at SDN 086 North Bengkulu, Sidoluhur village, Padang Jaya District, North Bengkulu Regency so they can understand how to have good ethics. The method used is a form of socialization. This socialization activity was delivered to 50 students of SDN 086 North Bengkulu, Sidoluhur village. The results obtained during community service activities were 1) the participants were enthusiastic about the material provided, as seen from the many questions asked by the participants, 2) In general the participants already knew how to carry out good and correct etiquette. The conclusion of this community service activity is 1) the service participants and all staff of SDN 086 North Bengkulu welcomed this service program. 2) the implementation of the service program went quite well and smoothly and the participants were quite enthusiastic. 3) The staff of SDN 086 North Bengkulu hope that there will be a further service program with another theme to broaden and broaden the students' insight

Abstract

Biji ketapang menjadi salah satu bahan alam alternatif dalam membuat produk tradisional berjenis makanan ringan, yang mana karena hasilnya berupa makanan ringan, diharapkan produk ini mudah diterima dan banyak diminati oleh semua kalangan masyarakat, khususnya MAN 2 Kota Bengkulu. Selaras dengan tujuan dari PROMKES ini, dimana bertujuan untuk mendalami dan merinci potensi dan manfaat kesehatan rempeyek/peyek dengan topping biji ketapang. Biji ketapang, dikenal sebagai sumber daya alam yang melimpah di berbagai wilayah tropis, menarik perhatian sebagai bahan dengan kandungan nutrisi yang beragam dan potensial kesehatan yang tinggi. Penelitian ini melibatkan langkah-langkah analitis yang komprehensif, dimulai dengan karakterisasi nutrisi biji ketapang. Analisis melibatkan identifikasi dan pengukuran kandungan nutrisi seperti protein, lemak, serat, dan berbagai senyawa bioaktif lainnya yang dapat berkontribusi pada nilai kesehatan biji ketapang. Analisis sensori akan mencakup parameter seperti rasa, aroma, tekstur, dan tampilan visual. Seiring itu, aspek kesehatan akan dinilai melalui analisis nutrisi produk akhir dan potensi dampaknya pada kesehatan konsumen. Hasil dari penelitian ini merupakan implikasi potensial mencakup pengembangan peyek ketapang sebagai camilan sehat dengan nutrisi tambahan yang dapat meningkatkan nilai gizinya. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini akan memperkaya literatur ilmiah terkait pemanfaatan biji ketapang dalam industri pangan dan memberikan kontribusi pada promosi produk lokal yang bernilai kesehatan. Metode promosi kesehatan yang kami terapkan adalah empowerment atau pemberdayaan, yaitu suatu metode yang memberdayakan masyarakat dengan memberikan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sumber daya untuk meningkatkan kemandirian. Hasil dari Promkes ini adalah sebagian besar responden memberikan respon positif atas kegiatan tersebut, hal ini dikarenakan bekal pengetahuan dari responden dan keberhasilan kami dalam proses promosi.

Abstract

Old age is a natural process that everyone experiences and cannot be avoided. With the success of national development, especially in the health sector, which can be seen from the reduction in infant mortality and birth rates as well as improvements in public nutrition, the positive impact is an increase in life expectancy at birth in Indonesia, namely around 70 years. in 2000. In 2000, by 2020, it is estimated by the USA-Bureau of the Census that the number of elderly people in Indonesia will be around ± 29 million people. This is an illustration for all countries that thanks to advances in science and technology as well as advances in socio-economic conditions, life expectancy is increasing. Along with the success of improving the health status of the Indonesian people which has an impact on increasing life expectancy, this will have its own impact on the nation, state and on the welfare and health problems of the elderly themselves. Abstract

Construction safety in the workplace, especially in the construction services industry, needs full attention. Construction safety is all engineering activities to support construction work in realizing the fulfillment of safety, health and sustainability standards. Labuan Panimba Village is an area with a fairly large construction worker population. The implementation of the activity was carried out through briefing and simulation of the implementation of Personal Protective Equipment and Work Protective Equipment and knowing the various risks in carrying out construction work in the field for 30 participants. Based on the results of the training, the final target result is that construction workers will be able to practice well in the field related to construction safety

Abstract

The Village Government of Talang Donok, Bang Haji District, Central Bengkulu Regency, still relies on a manual system, where residents must come directly to the village office to process document submissions. The implementation of digital technology to support more efficient correspondence distribution will improve the quality of public services. By using a digital system, residents no longer need to visit the village office to fill out personal data or submit requests. The socialization efforts are very useful for the residents of Talang Donok Village in understanding how to fill out the Google Form that has been provided by the village officials. The use of online administration makes it easier for residents to submit required documents anytime and anywhere. The community has responded positively to the use of online technology for document submission. Updates to the Google Sheet allow for adjustments to document numbers according to the most recent data. It is expected that after the socialization, the community's enthusiasm for the online administrative system will increase. The use of an online system in public services provides convenience, flexibility, and enhances the community's understanding of the technology applied in village administration.

Abstract

Pain is one of the most common symptoms experienced by cancer patients, which can significantly impact quality of life if not treated properly. Socialization regarding pain management is needed to increase the knowledge and skills of patients, families and health workers in treating cancer pain holistically. This community service activity was carried out at the Baiti Jannati Cancer Shelter Home with the aim of providing education about the basic concepts of pain, pain scales, as well as pharmacological and non-pharmacological techniques for pain management. The evaluation results showed that 90% of participants understood pain management and 93% of participants were able to carry out non-pharmacological technical steps. So it can be concluded that this community service activity has a positive impact on cancer patients in carrying out pain management independently.

Abstract

Spiritual guidance is an activity to sow and cultivate public awareness of the economic values ​​contained in Islam. From the long history of conventional economic structures, it can be concluded that it is called economics because humans always want to feel comfortable, without any shortages or disturbances that will befall them. Such concerns will certainly never exist. This activity will also reveal the essence of economics in Islam. As a religion that is approved by Allah..ar-Rohmaan ar-Rohiim, it is certain that all aspects related to it such as economic affairs tend to be positive. The spirituality of Islamic economics is a spirit that is manifested from the purity and tranquility of the Islamic religion itself. So, if the purpose of life in Islam is to worship Allah ar-Rohmaan ar-Rohiim, then the economy truly refers to that purpose. If the sharia outlined by Islam as a provision for the afterlife, it is certain that the values ​​embedded in the economy are subject (sharia compliance) to the intended order. Thus it can be understood together that Islamic economic spirituality is a building of awareness of Muslims, including their literacy process of Islamic economics. Spiritual needs are a dimension of life that can determine the meaning,purpose,suffering and death of person.
