Jurnal Bastra (Bahasa dan Sastra)
JOURNAL BASTRA (Language and Literature) is a publicly accessible journal published by the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Halu Oleo University. This journal is published four times a year, every January, April, July, and October. This journal contains the results of research (field or literature studies), theoretical studies, and critical studies covering several areas of study as follows. Indonesian language education includes studies on linguistic learning, phonology learning, morphology learning, syntax learning, semantic learning, pragmatics learning, discourse learning, sociolinguistic learning, and psycholinguistic learning. Indonesian literature education includes studies on poetry learning, fiction prose learning, and drama and film learning. Indonesian, includes studies on linguistics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse, sociolinguistics, and psycholinguistics. Indonesian literature includes studies on poetry, prose fiction, drama, and film with a structural approach, stylistics, semiotics, sociology of literature, psychology of literature, psychoanalysis, literary ecology, deconstruction, philology, phenomenology, feminism, literary reception, and literary anthropology.

<![CDATA[This research aims to develop problem-based learning animaker animation video learning media on official letter material in grade VII of junior high school and also aims to determine the level of application and reliability of animation video educational resources. Analysis, Design, Development, and Implementation are the four stages of the ADDIE model, which is the basis for the type of development research being applied. The very valid category received an average score of 88% based on the results of the material expert validation assessment. An average score of 87% was obtained in the median's validation assessment, with the category being very valid. At the implementation stage, the trial was carried out 2 times, the first was a small-scale test conducted on 5 students who obtained a percentage of 88% with a very practical category, while in a large-scale test conducted by 26 students obtained a percentage of 85% with a practical category. Thus, it can be concluded that the learning media of animaker animation videos based on problem-based learning in the official letter material of grade VII junior high school is suitable for use in the learning process.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to find out how digital technology influences grammar, vocabulary and communication style, especially in the use of abbreviations, emojis and slang in text messages and social media. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a literature study approach, as well as journals and articles that discuss language and digital technology as sources. The process is preparing appropriate sources, classifying data from these sources, and finally verifying or drawing conclusions from the data that has been collected. At this stage, an analysis is carried out to identify how digital technology influences grammar, vocabulary and communication style, especially in the use of abbreviations, emojis and slang in text messages and social media. The results of this research are that there are several influences of digital technology on changes in structure and form in the Indonesian language.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the ability to write explanatory texts among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Kabawo. The research method used is quantitative descriptive with field research. A sample of 105 students was selected using proportionate stratified random sampling from six classes. Data on the ability to write explanatory texts were obtained through written tests and interviews with teachers and students. The results show that out of 105 sampled students, 81 students (77%) are considered proficient and 24 students (23%) are considered not yet proficient in writing explanatory texts. Classically, the ability to write explanatory texts among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Kabawo is considered inadequate. The percentage of students who achieve the minimum proficiency level (77%) is still below the classical mastery criteria (85%). Evaluation of assessment aspects indicates that most students have not yet reached the expected level in several aspects such as the suitability of topics with content, language rules, and accuracy in spelling and punctuation.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to determine the directive and expressive speech acts used by the Vice Presidential Candidates in the second Debate event for the 2023 Vice Presidential Candidates of the Republic of Indonesia Muhaimin Iskandar, Gibran rakabumung Raka, and Mahfud MD. <![CDATA[Code mixing occurs in many forms and is influenced by several conditions; this study seeks to characterize these forms and their effects in the speech events of vendors and customers at the Penanggo People's Market in Lambandia District, East Kolaka Regency. This study takes a sociolinguistic approach to its qualitative descriptive research. A variety of listening, note-taking, recording, and interviewing strategies were employed in this investigation. This study's data analysis procedure involves transcribing spoken information into written form in Indonesian, then back into spoken form, and finally collecting the data based on its meaning characteristics. Examining the causes of code mixing is the next step. Findings from this research include instances of code mixing as well as other kinds of code mixing, such as the insertion of words, phrases, and clauses. Code mixing can occur due to the following factors: 1) the code's limitations, 2) the speaker's personality and function, 3) the speaker's goal, and 4) the speaker's background.]]>

<![CDATA[This research examines the inner struggle in the novel "Pasung Jiwa" by Okky Madasari using a literary psychology approach. This novel tells the story of Sasana's life journey, which experiences deep inner conflict due to dissatisfaction with her identity and freedom. Sasana, who was born as a man, feels trapped in societal norms and expectations that shackle the expression of his identity. The analysis shows that Sasana experienced an identity crisis which led to the search for individual freedom, passing through various stages of the hierarchy of needs. Data collection in this research used reading, listening and note-taking techniques. The results of this research explain that the character Sasana in the novel "Pasung Jiwa" by Okky Madasari, which was studied using literary psychology, has psychological deviation factors, causes of deviation, and sociocultural factors. The psychological deviation factors experienced by Sasana include depression, anxiety and dissociative disorders. This research also reveals that Sasana deviation is influenced by cognitive and sociocultural factors that suppress individual freedom. In a sociocultural context, this novel reflects criticism of social norms that are rigid and do not provide space for the expression of individuality. The novel "Pasung Jiwa" not only offers a personal narrative but also a deep social reflection. Through a literary psychology approach, this research provides insight into the complexity of the human mind and the importance of individual freedom in a broader social context.]]>

<![CDATA[Literature, as an artistic medium, goes beyond narrative and plays a role in creative expression. The novel, a manifestation of prose, serves as a narrative vehicle that reveals the intricacies of life and the characters involved in it from beginning to end. There is a deep connection between literature and religiosity. One of the novels that has a rich religious theme and values is "Hafalan Shalat Delisa" by Tere Liye. This research aims to identify the religiosity values in the novel "Hafalan Shalat Delisa" by Tere Liye. This research is descriptive qualitative with data sources from the novel "Hafalan Shalat Delisa" and studied with the dialectical technique analysis method. The result of this research is the confirmation of four religious aspects in the novel "Hafalan Shalat Delisa", namely human relations with God, individual bonds with other individuals, human harmony with themselves, and human relations with nature.]]>

<![CDATA[The poem "Lautan Hijab" by Emha Ainun Najib is a literary work that describes spiritual richness and religious values in the context of Indonesian culture. The aim of writing this article is to describe the educational ideology in the poem Lautan Jilbab by Emha Ainun Nadjib. The approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The object of this research is the poem Syair Lautan Jilbab by Emha Ainun Najib which will be studied using the theory of hermeneutical studies. The data used is in the form of stanza quotes from several poems contained in Syair Lautan Jilbab by Emha Ainun Najib which express religious values. The data collection technique steps used are in the following three ways: (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, and (3) data presentation. The data analysis technique uses descriptive analytical methods which have the aim of creating a coherent, factual and actual description or picture regarding the facts, nature and relationships between the events studied. The results of the research show that the Poetry Lautan Jilbab by Emha Ainun Najib contains the relationship between religiosity between humans and God, religiosity between humans and humans and religiosity between humans and themselves. The relationship of religiosity that is often found in this poetry is the religious relationship between humans and God.]]>

<![CDATA[This study analyzes the use and meaning of diction in the lyrics of the song "Malam Tak Berjudul" by Monica Christiana. The song was chosen because it has a wealth of language and deep symbolism, which reflects the emotions and hidden messages behind the words used. This analysis uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive analytical method, focusing on the choice of words (diction) and how they are used to create a certain meaning and atmosphere. The results of the analysis show that Monica Christiana uses diction full of symbolism and emotional connotations to describe the atmosphere of the night full of mystery and loneliness. Words like "night", "untitled", and "sense of loneliness" not only serve as descriptions but also lead the reader to introspective and melancholic feelings. The chosen diction creates a powerful image and influences the listener's interpretation of the song's theme This study concluded that the choice of diction in the lyrics of "Untitled Night" plays an important role in conveying the emotional message of the song. The right choice of words and the use of symbolism are effective in bringing listeners to a deeper understanding of the emotional experience that the songwriter wants to convey. Thus, diction is a crucial element in the formation of meaning and atmosphere in the lyrics of this song.]]>
