Abstract

The paper industry faces constant challenges, requiring a workforce with strong adaptability and technical skills. Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd., a frontrunner in paper products, explores how training empowers employees and boosts performance. The objective of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of training and development programs in enhancing employee performance in Nippon Paper Industries. The study gathered quantitative data through online surveys that were administered to 150 employees selected via stratified random sampling. The findings indicate a strong positive correlation between training and development programs and employee performance. The majority of respondents reported the effectiveness of training programs in enhancing skills, boosting productivity, and reducing turnover. However, the alignment of training needs with organizational strategy was perceived as less effective, with a significant portion of respondents expressing neutral opinions. By implementing structured training programs and evaluating their effectiveness, organizations can enhance employee satisfaction, productivity, and retention.

Abstract

The company's value is crucial as it reflects the company's performance, which can influence investors' perception of the company. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of profitability, company size, liquidity, and managerial ownership on company value in the automotive and component manufacturing sub-sector on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) for the years 2017-2021. The population in this study consists of manufacturing companies listed on IDX from 2017 to 2021, totaling 13 companies, with a sample size of 12 companies selected through purposive sampling method. This study employed multiple linear regression analysis to investigate the factors influencing company value. The results reveal that profitability and managerial ownership have a positive and significant impact on company value, while company size has no significant effect. Interestingly, liquidity exhibits a negative and significant relationship with company value.  These findings suggest potentially important areas for future research. Expanding the study to include additional variables, such as leverage, capital structure, and dividend policies, could provide a more comprehensive understanding of the determinants of company value.

Abstract

The home industry is crucial for regional economic growth by producing quality local products, requiring local governments to support its development through effective regulations. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of government policies in marketing home industry products in Bumiharjo Village and to identify internal and external factors that impact product distribution, while evaluating regional support initiatives like the Join Marketing Center (JMC) and promotional efforts. This study employs a qualitative method with an inductive approach, utilizing both primary and secondary data sources. Data were gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, display, and verification techniques. The findings indicate that the current marketing policy for home industry products in Bumiharjo Village remains suboptimal due to the lack of official regulations. Key obstacles include unformalized marketing policies for home industry products and limited production capabilities due to inadequate equipment and capital. The Regional Government has made efforts to address these challenges by establishing the JMC, promoting products through regional exhibitions, and endorsing them on official social media channels managed by the Regent and Deputy Regent of Way Kanan. These initiatives highlight the need for formalized policies and increased support to enhance the marketing and distribution of local products.

Abstract

Return migration is a topic of considerable interest in scholarly literature, with many studies suggesting that returning migrants can impact the economic development of their home country through capital accumulation and entrepreneurship. This study seeks to examine the entrepreneurial intentions of return migrants and the influence of formal education and training on their entrepreneurial tendencies. Utilizing data from the National Workforce Survey (Sakernas) in 2020 and employing logistic regression analysis, the study revealed that formal education tends to steer returning migrants towards the formal sector rather than entrepreneurship upon their return. Conversely, while training was found to potentially increase the likelihood of entrepreneurship, the effect was not statistically significant. Additionally, individual characteristics such as age, gender, and marital status were found to significantly influence entrepreneurial intentions, with older individuals, females, and married individuals exhibiting a higher propensity for entrepreneurship among return migrants. These findings contribute to the existing literature by highlighting that, on average, return migrants in Indonesia tend to have relatively low levels of education, and higher levels of human capital may diminish their interest in entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Using organizational commitment as a mediating variable, this study looks at how transformational leadership and organizational culture affect worker performance at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights' Bali Regional Office. Utilizing SEM-PLS 3.0 for data analysis, the study included 169 employees with a sample size of 168. The findings indicated that organizational culture had a positive and significant impact on employee performance, while transformational leadership had no discernible effect. Furthermore, organizational culture and transformational leadership both improved organizational commitment, which in turn improved performance. The impact of organizational culture on employee performance was partially mediated by organizational commitment, while the effect of transformational leadership was fully mediated by it. These results suggest that since a positive organizational culture directly improves performance, enhancing it may be necessary to improve employee performance at the Bali Regional Office. Despite not having a direct impact on performance, transformational leadership is essential for increasing organizational commitment, which eventually improves worker performance. Therefore, initiatives to improve commitment and culture may be important tactics for improving employee results.

Abstract

Skintific_ID's skincare marketing has utilized viral marketing and influencer marketing strategies through the social media platform TikTok. Despite achieving second place in market share, Skintific_ID continues to face stiff competition from its main competitor, Somethinc. To address this gap, this research focuses on viral marketing and influencer marketing strategies. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of viral marketing and influencer marketing on the purchase intention of the @skintific_id TikTok account. The research method used is a quantitative method with a causal associative research design. The sample consisted of 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The results showed that viral marketing and influencer marketing together have a significant effect on purchase intention. However, when considered individually, only influencer marketing has a significant effect on purchase intention, while viral marketing has no significant effect. To improve the marketing strategy, Skintific is advised to improve the content on the @skintific_id TikTok account with creative and informative videos and provide updated training to the marketing team on viral and influencer marketing strategies. In addition, they should select influencers that align with the company's vision and expand promotion to other platforms such as Instagram and YouTube.

Abstract

Several studies have been conducted to evaluate the tourism industry, but very little is known about Muslim travel, particularly that of Muslim women. The motivation of Muslim women to travel is one issue that needs to be investigated, as it represents a potential target market that has not received adequate attention. This study aims to pinpoint Indonesian Muslim women's travel-related motivations. The study used a qualitative approach by conducting semi-structured interviews with nineteen Muslim women respondents chosen from a wide range of backgrounds. The interview guide consisted of questions separated into two primary categories: travel and socio-demographic profile. The results showed four primary motivations driving Muslim women to travel: (1) Spiritual growth (appreciating God's creation, receiving a blessing from God, learning about the beauty of God's creation, and showing gratitude to God); (2) Seeking experiences; (3) Destination allure; and (4) Self-relieving. The findings suggest that tourist providers must design goods and services that cater to the needs of Indonesian Muslim women.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the indicators of work life quality among employees at the Airport Management Unit (UPBU) Class 1 Mopah Merauke. A qualitative approach was adopted by collecting data from semi-structured in-depth interviews with 12 civil servants representing the administration sub-section, the technical operations section, the flight security section, as well as the service and cooperation section. The research findings indicate that the first determinant of work life quality is the opportunity to use and develop expertise. Skill development is an essential factor to ensure the safety and efficiency of employee work. Without the proper skills, operations could be hindered. The second indicator is the condition of a safe and comfortable work environment. Safety and health are the top priorities at the airport. The third indicator is constitutionalism within the work organization. Legal protection and employees' rights are crucial, especially in a highly structured and high-risk environment like the airport. The other four indicators, although not primary, can influence employee job satisfaction at the airport, especially if the other factors are already satisfied. The results of this study provide valuable insights into the challenges faced by employees at UPBU and offer recommendations for further improvement.
