Abstract

Several studies have been conducted to evaluate the tourism industry, but very little is known about Muslim travel, particularly that of Muslim women. The motivation of Muslim women to travel is one issue that needs to be investigated, as it represents a potential target market that has not received adequate attention. This study aims to pinpoint Indonesian Muslim women's travel-related motivations. The study used a qualitative approach by conducting semi-structured interviews with nineteen Muslim women respondents chosen from a wide range of backgrounds. The interview guide consisted of questions separated into two primary categories: travel and socio-demographic profile. The results showed four primary motivations driving Muslim women to travel: (1) Spiritual growth (appreciating God's creation, receiving a blessing from God, learning about the beauty of God's creation, and showing gratitude to God); (2) Seeking experiences; (3) Destination allure; and (4) Self-relieving. The findings suggest that tourist providers must design goods and services that cater to the needs of Indonesian Muslim women.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the impact of using Village Funds for village independence and community welfare in Sumberpasir and Pucangsongo Villages, Pakis District, Malang Regency based on community perceptions using the Sustainable Livelihood Approach (SLA) approach. The selection of the two villages was based on consideration of the uniqueness of different characters, where Sumberpasir is tourism-based because it is on the route of Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) while Pucangsongo is agriculture-based. The results of the analysis show that in Sumberpasir Village, the impact of village utilization is more prominent on social capital, namely in the form of collaboration with other communities and human capital in the form of training for technology. In Pucangsongo Village, the use of village funds for the independence and welfare of rural communities is influenced by financial capital, in the form of business capital assistance for farmer groups. In addition, natural capital factors are also prominent as the use of village funds also to support the agricultural sector. This research contributes to an empirical study that provides an understanding that the utilization of village funds can be heterogeneous based on the characteristics of each village.

Abstract

In 2020, approximately all universities worldwide abruptly closed due to an urgent public health issue to stop the COVID-19 epidemic from spreading. Unfortunately, even though some universities have undergone  online  teaching  techniques before, they are not prepared to learn online fully. This research examines whether students’ attitudes, convenience flexibility, and schools’ support influence the continuance intention toward e-learning and whether satisfaction with e-learning is the mediator of the relationships above. This study was conducted in Malaysia and Indonesia after the COVID-19 epidemic to assess university students’ intent to continue using e-learning platforms. 160 college students in all took part in the research. This study reveals that satisfaction directly influences continuance intention whereas convenience flexibility and school support influence continuance intention when satisfaction came in and plays a role as a mediator. The link between students’ attitudes, convenience flexibility, school support, and continuance intention are mediated by their satisfaction with e- learning. To bolster students' contentment with e-learning, it is suggested for universities to fortify the convenience and flexibility of the system and improve the level of support provided by the institution.

Abstract

Neurodivergent children may have conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, or other learning differences. These children often experience challenges in communication, social interaction, and academic performance, requiring tailored support in educational settings. This community service program is partnering with ELMO a community for neurodivergent children. The goals of this program are to develop an assistive learning media eLearning and also technology transfer. The result shows a positive impact and can satisfy both the partner and parents of the neurodivergent children to track their studies.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of social media influencers on the purchase intention of online shopping application users in Indonesia, by including parasocial interactions as a mediator. There were 200 respondents obtained through purposive sampling technique. Using PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling), the research results reveal that (1) social media influencers have a positive and significant direct influence on purchase intention; and (2) the influence of influencers is not only direct but also through mediated parasocial interactions. These findings become valuable insights for marketers in increasing the effectiveness of marketing strategies through collaboration with influencers. Overall, this research underscores the critical role of social media influencers in shaping purchase intention among online shopping application users in Indonesia, emphasizing the significance of emotional connections and engagement in influencing consumer behavior. In summary, the study results underscore the notable impact of social media influencers on the intention to purchase among users of online shopping platforms in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study intends to investigate the impact of synchronous and asynchronous online learning on the occurrence of academic ethical infractions among students. The object of this research is an active student of Bachelor Degree in the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Brawijaya. A total of 354 data were collected using a survey method with purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS application. The test results show that synchronous online learning has an effect on students' academic ethics violations. In addition, the test results also show that asynchronous online learning has an effect on violations of student academic ethics. The findings are consistent with the Fraud Triangle Hypothesis, which contends that when fraud is possible, cases of academic ethical infractions become more serious.

Abstract

The emergence of influencer marketing in developing countries has been facilitated by Generation Z's use of social media. This study's goal is to discover how influencer marketing will affect Gen Z consumers' purchasing intentions in Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and Nigeria. In this study, the data were examined utilizing descriptive, reliability, correlation, and regression analysis employing quantitative research and IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The data collection method was carried out online with a group of 150 individuals from the Gen Z demographic participating. The study highlights that perceived influencer credibility, product-influencer relevance, perceived expertise, and trustworthiness significantly impact Gen Z's purchasing intentions in Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and Nigeria. Authentic, credible influencers who align with a brand's image strengthen consumer trust and purchase intent. Marketers should prioritize collaborations with influencers known for genuine, relatable, and expert content, fostering deeper engagement and brand loyalty. While peers' reviews showed less impact, further research could explore Gen Z's evolving approach to social proof.

Abstract

Telkom University organizes an entrepreneurship program that serves entire students who want to start a business with a selection method to be incubated for one semester or more. Doing business for Student Entrepreneurship (SE) requires financial management expertise because it is very important to ensure that products are in line with expectations and efficient use of resources to maximize business profits. Financial skills are also important in running businesses. From that, the university holds learning finance management in the process of business incubation, but SE feels learning financial management is not interesting. Therefore, this research aims to discuss the needs of financial management for SE, lecturers, and universities with a qualitative approach through focus group discussion. The study's key findings are that SE needs to learn about financial statements. They also expect this to be done automatically on a digital basis that is easy to use, so entrepreneurial students can take advantage of the automatically generated data for proper decision-making and can focus on the creative and innovative aspects of the product. Financial apps for financial statements could potentially be made by digital software developers.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a country that is progressing towards an upper middle-income country, is facing a high incidence of disasters. Understanding how disasters impact living standards is still relatively difficult due to the lack of relevant studies in the literature. Therefore, the study aims to analyze the likelihood of individuals who were in areas with a high risk of disaster becoming middle-class workers. In this study, the incidence of disasters is represented by the disaster risk index, which comprises three components, namely the hazard, vulnerability, and capacity components in each province and regency/city based on the definition carried out by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). By using logistics methods, this study found that individuals living in areas with a high risk of disaster tend to have a lower chance of becoming middle-class workers. In overcoming the labor market challenges faced by regions with high disaster risk, careful policy steps are needed that focus on strengthening capacity and reducing the risk of high investment costs. Enhancing disaster-resistant infrastructure and community networks as well as improving access to social protection services and promoting economic recovery are priorities.

Abstract

Recently, many university students have utilized LinkedIn to their advantage and launched their professional careers. This research attempts to ascertain the relationship between university students’ attitudes, intentions, self-efficacy (independent variables), and outcome expectation (dependent variable). There were 157 respondents in the sample, but only 144 replies were valid. An online survey was used to obtain the data for this cross-sectional research. The survey data were calculated and analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Results show that self-efficacy and intention significantly influence outcome expectations. Specifically, self-efficacy had a strong positive effect (? = 0.503, p 0.001), while intention also positively impacted outcome expectations (? = 0.316, p 0.001). However, students' attitudes toward LinkedIn did not significantly affect outcome expectations (? = 0.141, p 0.05), leading to the rejection of the hypothesis regarding attitude. These findings indicate that students' confidence in their abilities and their purposeful engagement with LinkedIn are more influential in shaping positive outcomes than their general attitudes toward the platform. To improve student outcomes, universities, and career services should focus on developing students' self-efficacy and LinkedIn skills.
