Abstract

This article reviews the literature on how project-based learning affects elementary school students' critical and creative thinking skills. Students must have critical and creative thinking skills in order to adapt and participate in an increasingly competitive global society. Unfortunately, there are still many elementary school students who do not have these abilities, this can be caused by the use of the wrong learning model. The purpose of this study is to see how the critical and creative thinking skills of elementary school children are affected by a project-based learning approach. Utilizing Google Scholar to find sources, literature review is the research methodology used. The findings of the literature study show how project-based learning can increase students' interest in taking an active role in creating, implementing and assessing projects that have real-world applications. Through this process, students should be able to think more critically and creatively as they identify problems, obtain data, create solutions and present their work to others. Therefore, project-based learning can be a useful strategy to improve primary school students' critical and creative thinking skills.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the ability to read fluently using pictorial media and determine the ability to read fluently in learning Indonesian using pictorial text media in class II elementary school students. The approach used in this research is qualitative with descriptive methods. The subject to support this research is one of the class II students at SD N in Pauh. Data collection techniques include observation and interviews. The results of the analysis of the ability of second grade elementary school students in reading fluently, it can be concluded that there are 2 aspects out of 4 aspects that are considered to be inappropriate.

Abstract

The concept of futuristic learning in the education sector is very important to produce Indonesian human resource products that can face the changing times. This requires educational institutions and educators to be able to create futuristic learning concepts which are expected to meet the needs of the educational process, especially Islamic religious education in this era. Among the most common Islamic religious educational institutions in Indonesia are Islamic boarding schools, some of which still use traditional methods. Combining futuristic learning models with traditional methods can create a dynamic and effective learning environment to advance Islamic religious education in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the reading comprehension difficulties of fourth-grade students at Sulit Air Elementary School in learning the Indonesian language. This study employs a qualitative research design with a descriptive method. The subjects of this study are fourth-grade students who still experience difficulties in reading comprehension. The data analyzed were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. In terms of literacy, the comprehension of elementary students who struggle is still considered low. The results of the study indicate that there are two students who still have difficulties in understanding readings. The students cannot answer sentences or questions correctly but repeat them in simple sentences. Students can answer questions but not optimally. The ability to explain the meaning of difficult words in the reading is very low and not yet optimal. The teacher's effort to overcome students' reading comprehension difficulties is by applying the SQ3R method (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review).

Abstract

This research aims to describe the characteristics of difficulties in reading fluently and the factors that influence students’ reading fluency in class II. This research was conducted on second grade elementary schoo students. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The data collection techniques used by researchers in this research were oral tests, interviews, observation, and documentation. The research focus in this study was on second grade elementary school students and their parents. The result of the research show that the characteristics of difficulty reading fluently in class II are mispronouncing words and sentences, reading spelling, omitting letters and words, adding words, flat voice intonation and not paying attention to punctuation, not being able to put words together, letters blend together, halting reading, no expression in reading and not understanding the content of the reading. Factor causing difficulty in reading fluently are internal and external factors. Internal factors include (lack of familiarity with letters, omotting letters and words, lack of interest in reading, and physical factors). Meanwhile, external factors include (family emvironmental factors).

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out how future leaders can apply Pancasila values in education, which include: 1. Belief in the One and Only God; 2. Just and civilized humanity; 3. The unity of Indonesia; 4. Democracy guided by the inner wisdom in the unanimity arising out of deliberations among representatives; and 5. Social justice for all Indonesian people. Character education is an effort to realize the values of Pancasila and the preamble of the 1945 Constitution. However, the evolving conditions in educational institutions today hinder character education. Therefore, it is crucial to embed Pancasila principles in future leaders to ensure they uphold and promote these fundamental values, fostering a strong national identity and moral integrity.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the influence of the school environment on the reading fluency of fifth-grade elementary school students. The school environment includes factors such as the quality of teaching, the availability of reading materials, support from teachers, and a conducive learning atmosphere. The research methods used are surveys and observations in elementary schools. The results of the study show that a good and supportive school environment has a positive correlation with students' reading fluency. Factors such as interactive teaching approaches, adequate library availability, and emotional support from teachers have been proven to improve students' reading abilities. These findings underline the importance of creating a conducive school environment for the development of literacy in elementary students.

Abstract

Early childhood is children aged 0-6 years. At this age children experience rapid and short development. Optimal motor development at an early age can support later life, by providing stimulation to children, one of which is meronce activities. The cerebellum, which is located at the bottom of the brain or the cerebellum, functions to regulate fine motor control, balance and coordination. The activity of making bracelets from beads can stimulate children's fine motor skills. In this case the research uses experimental methods. Using a sample of three children, aged four years, five years and six years. Collection of experimental data and documentation.. The aim of this research is to find out how optimal meronce activities are in the development of the cerebellum in early childhood. Based on observations in the field, young children are still categorized as having not developed their fine motor skills as they should. So it is important for adults, parents and teachers to provide stimulation to children from an early age one of them is ronce activity.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the ability of elementary school students to write descriptive texts. The research focuses on explanatory descriptive text composition. A qualitative research approach was employed for this study. The subjects supporting this research are elementary school students. Consequently, students are expected to develop writing skills through the practice of composing descriptive texts. Through this writing activity, students are also anticipated to cultivate a positive attitude. The researcher evaluates the students' abilities not only based on their final output but also on their process in creating the texts.

Abstract

Although audiovisual media has been widely used in the learning process, research on the effectiveness of using Canva to enhance elementary students' graphic design skills remains limited. This gap indicates the need for more in-depth studies to understand how the Canva application can influence students' creativity and engagement in the context of primary education. The purpose of this study is to identify how audiovisual media can attract elementary students to graphic design through Canva. The method used in this research is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The aspects discussed in this study include the title, abstract, introduction, method, results, discussion, and conclusion. The data collected comprises relevant articles from several sources from 2019 to 2024 related to the topic of using Canva-based audiovisual learning media to improve students' basic graphic design skills. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which includes the analysis of various relevant journal articles. The results of the study indicate that the use of Canva can enhance students' creativity, engagement, and technical skills in graphic design. In the first cycle, students showed a significant improvement in basic skills, and in the second cycle, there was further improvement with higher completeness. Using Canva as a learning medium has proven effective in enhancing students' graphic design competence, while also encouraging them to be more explorative and creative.
