Abstract

The International Community Service Program (KKN) held in Laensasi, Philippines, aims to empower people of Indonesian descent (Registered Indonesian Nationals, RIN) through an educational and practical approach. This program is designed to answer the challenges of the welfare of the RIN community, such as the low quality of life due to limited access to jobs and unequal community empowerment. Various activities, including skills training, introduction to Indonesian culture and geography, as well as humanitarian actions such as the construction of mosques, have been carried out to raise awareness of nationalism and the quality of life of the local community. This methodology uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. Data sources come from observation, socialization, education, as well as demonstrations and hands-on practice. The results of the study found that the main problem faced by Indonesian citizens (RINs) in the Philippines is related to welfare, which affects their level of living. This welfare problem includes an inadequate quality of life, both in terms of housing and facilities that support daily activities. This is due to limited access to jobs and a lack of equitable distribution of community empowerment, which has an impact on the low skills of the local population. In addition, the importance of raising awareness among Indonesian people there about their desire to return to their homeland is also one of the main objectives of the implementation of this international KKN program. The impact of the activity showed a positive impact in the form of increasing skills, strengthening national identity, and more optimal local economic potential. It is hoped that the implementation of this program can be a model of sustainable community empowerment that focuses on independent and inclusive development.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping the religious character of students at MTs Zahrotul Islam in Probolinggo City. The implementation of PAI education in this institution is not limited to academic or cognitive aspects but also encompasses a broader religious dimension. MTs Zahrotul Islam is committed not only to imparting religious knowledge but also to fostering individuals with strong moral and religious character. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with source triangulation, involving the principal, PAI teachers, and students for data validation. The data analysis technique follows Spradley’s model, utilizing a componential analysis approach to identify relevant domains and verify data accuracy. The findings indicate that the role of PAI teachers in shaping students’ religious character can be analyzed through an academic approach based on educational theory and empirical studies. PAI teachers serve not only as facilitators in transmitting religious knowledge but also as role models who significantly influence students' behavior, ethics, and social interactions. This study highlights the necessity of a systematic approach that integrates educational policies with innovative learning strategies, including extracurricular activities based on Islamic values. Thus, the role of PAI teachers in fostering students’ religious character at MTs Zahrotul Islam is not merely instructional but also transformative in shaping a generation with strong moral integrity and adherence to Islamic principles.

Abstract

Semiconductors are materials used to conduct electricity for a certain period of time. SnO2 is an n-type semiconductor that has a wide band gap and is most widely used in technology such as solar cells, batteries, and catalysts. This study aims to analyze the effect of vanadium doping on the properties of SnO2 nanoparticles using the sol-gel method. The sol-gel method can produce a stable vanadium-doped SnO2 surface and has a high surface area. Determination of the band gap energy value in SnO2 was carried out by characterization using UV-DRS. The results of SnO2 doped with vanadium obtained the optimum bandgap value at the addition of vanadium with a concentration of 0.25 mmol, which is 2.25 eV and SnO2 without the addition of vanadium doping has a bandgap value of 3.41 eV. This shows that the addition of vanadium doping can affect the bandgap value of SnO2 nanoparticles. This decrease in the bandgap value is caused by the interaction between the electron band and the delocalization of electrons in the transition ions causing metal ion substitution, which results in a decrease in the bandgap value.
