Abstract

The purpose of this research is to look at how eighth graders at SMP Negeri 25 Kota Bengkulu are studying Islamic history through the lens of multicultural education and to find out what problems instructors are having with it. The study used a qualitative methodology, gathering information via in-depth interviews with the principal, homeroom teacher, and social studies instructor. The results show that Islamic history classes have adopted multicultural education techniques by including diversity principles into their lessons and pedagogy. This is shown in the following ways: the importance of valuing cultural diversity, the importance of students respecting one another, the importance of applying democratic values, the role of teachers as facilitators of inclusive learning, the creation of an equitable and welcoming school climate, the organization of events that promote cross-cultural communication, and the improvement of students' self-awareness and self-respect. Both internal and external factors have contributed to subpar implementation, with the former citing constraints on instructional time, inadequate multicultural education teacher training, and a dearth of learning resources and media; the latter citing the impact of students' social environments, an absence of ongoing extracurricular activities focused on diversity, and a lack of parental support. Overall, while the implementation of multicultural education has been carried out fairly well, it still requires strengthening in terms of teacher competence, facility support, and collaboration among the school, families, and the wider community to ensure greater effectiveness and sustainability.

Abstract

The quick advancement of digital technology has drastically changed the social and religious life of Indonesian teenagers. The purpose of this study is to investigate how pupils at Al Muslim Junior High School's daily worship practices, self-control, and fear of missing out (FoMO) affect the principles of Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The study used a quantitative methodology with a causal and correlational design. All students in grades VII, VIII, and IX made up the study population for the 2025–2026 school year. Using the Slovin formula, a proportionate stratified sample of 171 students with a 5% margin of error was chosen. A five-point Likert scale questionnaire was used to gather data. The Pearson Product-Moment correlation (r > 0.30) was used to evaluate validity, while Cronbach's Alpha (α > 0.70) was used to test reliability. Multiple linear regression using SPSS version 26 was used for quantitative analysis, beginning with traditional assumption tests for heteroscedasticity (Glejser), multicollinearity (VIF), and normality (Kolmogorov-Smirnov). According to the analysis results, self-control had a substantial, favorable impact on the practice of PAI values, but FoMO had no significant influence (β = -0.034, p = 0.530).

Abstract

This study discusses the migration of residents from Bebanir Village to Sei Bebanir Bangun Village in Berau Regency during 1980–1985, which was prompted by environmental and health conditions that did not support community life. The study aims to analyze the factors influencing migration, the process of population relocation, and the adaptation patterns of the community after settling in a new environment. The research uses historical methods with a qualitative approach through the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that migration was influenced by seawater intrusion causing a clean water crisis, limited health facilities, regional isolation, as well as relocation support from the government. The migration process took place gradually and collectively through river routes until the community settled in Sei Bebanir Bangun Village. In the process of adaptation, the community was able to build a new life by developing the agricultural and fisheries sectors, strengthening social relationships based on mutual cooperation, and preserving local cultural values. This study concludes that migration is not only a form of population movement but also a social change process that impacts the improvement of community quality of life and the formation of more livable settlements.

Abstract

21st-century skills are a crucial aspect that students must master, equipping them to face the challenges of modern development. In history learning, the use of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is considered a powerful tool for transforming learning from rote memorization to active, problem-solving-based learning. This study aims to analyze the role of PBL in enhancing 21st-century skills in history learning through the Problem-Based Learning (SLR) approach. The research method used in this study is the SLR with a prism procedure. The data were obtained from a search of scientific articles through Google Scholar using the keywords Problem-Based Learning, 21st-Century Skills, and history learning. From the initial 2,540 articles obtained, after screening based on relevance, quality, and year range, six key articles were obtained. The study results indicate that PBL is effective in enhancing 21st-century skills through discussions, historical source analysis, and contextual problem-solving. This approach is considered appropriate for the curriculum because it encourages student-centered learning, rather than teacher-centered learning. Although PBL still faces several challenges in its implementation, it remains a relevant and effective learning strategy for developing 21st-century skills.

Abstract

Adolescence is a developmental stage that is vulnerable to the emergence of Fear of Negative Evaluation (FNE) in social interactions. This condition may affect adolescents’ ability to build social relationships and impact their psychological well-being. This study aims to examine clinical assessment procedures for adolescents with FNE and identify influencing factors as well as intervention strategies. A systematic literature review method was employed using data from Google Scholar with keywords related to adolescent social anxiety and clinical psychological assessment. A total of 24 scientific articles published between 2020–2026 were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that FNE is associated with avoidance behavior, low self-esteem, loneliness, and increased risk of social anxiety and depression. Factors such as cyberbullying, social media use, social rejection, and self-image distortion contribute to its development. Integrated assessment using psychometric and projective instruments provides a more comprehensive psychological profile. Cognitive-based interventions, social support, self-compassion, and expressive approaches are effective in improving adolescents’ social adaptation.

Abstract

Corruption is one of the most significant challenges still facing Indonesia due to its far-reaching impact on social, economic, political, and legal life. Until now, corruption has largely been understood as a violation of the law or a failure of the government system. This article aims to analyze the phenomenon of corruption in Indonesia through the lens of Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs to understand the psychological motivations underlying corrupt behavior. This study employs a qualitative method using a literature review approach, examining various scientific literature, books, journals, and data related to corruption in Indonesia. The findings indicate that corruption does not arise solely from economic needs but is also linked to distortions in the fulfillment of the need for security, social needs, the need for recognition, and the need for self-actualization. Corruption serves as a means to obtain power, social status, and instant recognition through the abuse of authority. Additionally, weak moral integrity and a materialistic culture further reinforce corrupt behavior. Therefore, combating corruption requires an approach that is not only focused on law enforcement but also on character building, moral education, and the cultivation of a culture of integrity in societal and national life.
