The Tsaqifa Nusantara is an open-accessed journal served as a medium of publishing scientific articles by Department of Tadris IPS, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. The articles, which are published by this journal are the outcomes of researches and the findings of the studies of current issues within perspective of social education of Islam and cultures from perspective of Islam. This journal attempts to spread thoughts in form of concepts, theories, paradigms, perspective and methodology of social education. The scopes of the Tsaqifa Nusantara Journal are focused on: 1) Learning IPS, 2) social phenomena in society. Abstract

Adapun tujuan dari kajian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan peran pendidikan islam dalam upaya mengatasi kenakalan remaja di lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang didukung oleh kajian pustaka yang terkait. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pembinaan moral dan pembinaan agama dalam keluarga, sekolah, dan masyarakat harus menjadi perhatian yang serius dan teladan nyata dari orang tua, guru di sekolah, dan tokoh-tokoh panutan di masyarakat terbukti bisa memberikan pengaruh yang besar kepada sikap, perilaku, moralitas, dan keagamaan para remaja. Kurang adanya pembinaan moral dan pembinaan agama yang nyata dan pudarnya keteladanan para orangtua ataupun pendidik di sekolah menjadi faktor kunci dalam proses perkembangan kepribadian remaja. Secara psikologis, kehidupan remaja adalah kehidupan mencari idola. Mereka mendambakan sosok orang yang dapat dijadikan panutan. Segi pembinaan moral dan agama menjadi terlupakan pada saat orang tua ataupun pendidik hanya memperhatikan segi intelektual saja.Keyword: Peran Pendidikan Islam, Kenakalan Remaja, Lingkungan Sekolah.

Abstract

The condition of the character of students is an important aspect that needs to be considered and developed by teachers. The character development of students can be done through the learning process, especially social studies learning which is very relevant to the character education of the nation's children to become good citizens. The success of a learning is seen from how much the character of students can be developed to be good. In 2020 there was a Covid-19 pandemic which caused learning regulations implemented in schools to change to online or distance mode. This condition also has an impact on the character development of students who have decreased so that in this transition and post-pandemic period, teachers are trying to take various approaches to continue to improve the character of students in schools. This study was conducted with a qualitative approach by conducting observations, interviews, and literature studies in producing this paper which displays the character problems of students in social studies learning at SMP Lab school UPI and SMP Kartika XIX-2 Bandung. This study seeks to describe the current condition of student character, due to the impact of online learning on character education, solutions and problem solving in social studies learning in schools.Keyword: character education, social studies learning, junior high schools

Abstract

Ekosistem pegunungan memainkan peran vital sebagai penyedia jasa lingkungan sekaligus ruang hidup yang membentuk identitas sosial-budaya masyarakat lokal. Namun, di tengah arus modernisasi yang masif, cara masyarakat memaknai dan berinteraksi dengan ruang ekologisnya mulai mengalami transformasi nilai yang signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi spasial masyarakat lokal terhadap jasa ekosistem pegunungan serta perubahan persepsi tersebut di tengah tekanan modernisasi di Nagari Tuo Pariangan, Kabupaten Tanah Datar, Sumatra Barat. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif-eksploratif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur terhadap 28 informan yang dipilih secara purposive, terdiri atas petani, tokoh adat, dan masyarakat yang memiliki keterkaitan langsung dengan pemanfaatan jasa ekosistem Gunung Marapi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat memandang Gunung Marapi sebagai sistem ekologis terintegrasi yang menyediakan jasa penyedia, pengaturan, budaya, dan pendukung. Persepsi spasial masyarakat dibentuk oleh kedekatan lokasi, aksesibilitas, keterkaitan antarwilayah, serta aktivitas manusia. Kearifan lokal masih berperan sebagai dasar moral dan ekologis dalam pengelolaan lingkungan, namun modernisasi mendorong transformasi persepsi dari orientasi ekologis–spiritual menuju orientasi ekonomi dan pemanfaatan ruang yang lebih rasional. Meskipun demikian, nilai-nilai tradisional tidak sepenuhnya ditinggalkan, melainkan berintegrasi dengan kebutuhan adaptasi modern. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pengelolaan ekosistem pegunungan berbasis persepsi spasial dan pengetahuan lokal untuk menjaga keberlanjutan sistem sosial-ekologi pegunungan. Abstract

This article aims to examine in depth Gurindam Dua Belas as a means of community communication during the colonial period and its relevance for Generation Z in the millennial era. Gurindam Dua Belas is one of Raja Ali Haji's monumental works that transcends the limits of time. During the colonial period, this work functioned as a medium of mass communication to maintain the moral integrity and religious identity of the people living under the pressure of foreign hegemony. The research method used is qualitative with content analysis in processing primary data and secondary data. The approach is through literature studies because the data used is a collection of literature. The results of the study show that Gurindam Dua Belas is one of the means of communication of the Malay community in the past which is loaded with meaningful content. As a work written during the colonial period, Gurindam Dua Belas was created as an anti-colonial resistance because Raja Ali Haji was a scholar, culturalist, historian, and writer through his many works. The content of the meaning of Gurindam Dua Belas is very relevant for the benefit of generation Z today because it is loaded with content that is in accordance with today's social phenomenon. It can even be used as a filter against the phenomenon of hoaxes and moral decadence on social media.

Abstract

The article is based on the assumption that the current generation is increasingly distant from its own culture as a result of technological developments. By using the distribution of open google form questioners for teachers at the elementary to university levels, 53 teachers/lecturers were obtained who filled out. The data is mapped according to the existing theme to see teachers' innovations in designing the learning process by making local wisdom materials part of the learning process. The findings obtained are that teachers learn local wisdom by enriching, inserting and integrating with the material learned. The forms of wisdom used include teaching/taboos, culinary, traditions, carvings, medicines, crafts, games, folklore, batik, including measuring instruments. Through learning that adds local wisdom to the teaching material, teachers realize how important it is to remind students of the importance of local wisdom so that it is maintained from generation to generation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of moral degradation and ethical crises among adolescents due to the massive use of social media. Interactions in the digital space often ignore the values of politeness, characterized by the rise of hate speech, hoaxes, and the loss of privacy. The purpose of this study is to re-explore the relevance of Malay proverbs as an instrument for character education in shaping adolescent digital ethics. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study and digital observation approach. The results show that Malay proverbs contain philosophical values that are highly compatible with modern digital literacy principles. The value of caution in the proverb "Terlajak perahu boleh ditarik, terlajak kata buruk padanya" is very relevant to the awareness of digital footprints. Furthermore, the verification principle in the proverb "Dengar cakap enggang..." becomes a crucial filter in countering the spread of hoaxes. This study concludes that the revitalization of Malay proverbs is not merely a cultural preservation effort, but an urgent need to provide "moral software" for adolescents to maintain a polite identity amidst the hustle and bustle of the digital world. Abstract

This article aims to examine in depth the existence of language in the social interaction of cross-Sumatra travelers at the Babur Rahmat Grand Mosque as a social study study. This is because the travelers who stop by to rest at the Babur Rahmat mosque consist of various tribes and are never empty of visitors. The method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach with data collection through observation and interviews. Meanwhile, the analysis leads to content analysis that observes the phenomenon that occurred at the Babur Rahmat mosque. The findings show that the Babur Rahmat mosque has a very complex role, the mosque is not only a place of worship, but also a space for social interaction for cross-Sumatra travelers. The difference in language and dialect is not an obstacle in communication that occurs because of the common goal, namely rest and worship. Even with the diversity of cultural backgrounds, the travelers make language function as the main tool in bridging communication, building social relationships and creating integration in the midst of differences. In addition, the existence of language is also a means of effective social adaptation in the mosque environment. The existence of the Babur Rahmat mosque with conducive facilities also supports harmonious social interaction so that it can be used as learning in the field of social studies, because it contains the values of diversity, tolerance, communication and the dynamics of community life in real terms.

Abstract

Latar belakang dari penelitian ini yaitu hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS di SMPN 1 Sanankulon masih tergolong rendah. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan banyaknya siswa yang nilainya belum memenuhi KKM. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPS di SMPN 1 Sanankulon. Pendekatan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis quasi experimental design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji prasyarat dan uji hipotesis dengan independent sample t-test. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diketahui bahwa rata-rata nilai posttest pada kelas eksperimen mencapai 84, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 72. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dari uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi hasil belajar sebesar 0,001 < 0,05, sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Implikasi studi ini menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe snowball throwing terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa

Abstract

Perubahan lingkungan global semakin mengkhawatirkan menuntut adanya kesadaran kolektif dan tindakan nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan menganalisis peran mahasiswa sebagai agent of change dalam mendukung Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) melalui implementasi ekoteologi, sebuah pendekatan yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai spiritual keagamaan dengan kepedulian lingkungan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Informan penelitian seluruh ormawa Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalu observasi, wawancara dan dan dokumentasi. Analisis data mengunakan pengumpulan data (data collection), mereduksi data (data reduction), penyajian data (data display), penarikan kesimpulan (conclutions). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa mahasiswa memiliki peran krusial sebagai agen perubahan dalam pelestarian lingkungan. Peran strategis mahasiswa sebagai katalisator melalui tiga ranah utama: edukasi dan kampanye kreatif, implementasi teknis pengelolaan sumber daya (seperti efisiensi energi dan pengelolaan sampah), serta advokasi kebijakan kampus yang ramah lingkungan. Meskipun demikian, gerakan ini masih menghadapi hambatan struktural berupa keterbatasan dukungan birokrasi dan dana, serta hambatan kultural berupa pola konsumsi mahasiswa yang masih tinggi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa internalisasi nilai ekoteologi mampu memperkuat motivasi spiritual mahasiswa untuk menjaga kelestarian alam secara berkelanjutan dan melampaui sekadar kepatuhan teknis. Abstract

The environmental crisis caused by modernization and the exploitation of natural resources calls for alternative approaches to sustainable ecosystem management. One approach that has endured to this day is the local wisdom of indigenous communities. The Naga Traditional Village in Tasikmalaya, West Java, is an example of a community that has been able to maintain environmental balance through a cultural value system integrated with Islamic teachings. Traditions of taboos, Sundanese proverbs, and customary practices passed down through generations form the ethical foundation for maintaining a harmonious relationship between humans, nature, and God. This study aims to analyze the forms of local wisdom of the Naga Village community in environmental management and to examine its integration with Islamic values in building ecological ethics and character education. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method. The data was obtained through a literature review, observations of community cultural practices, and an analysis of traditional values, Sundanese proverbs, and the spatial management system in place in Kampung Naga. The research findings indicate that the concept of pamali functions as a social and spiritual mechanism for preserving the ecosystem. The territorial zoning system, comprising sacred, clean, and unclean areas, along with customary rules regarding the use of forests and water sources, creates a pattern of sustainable environmental management. These values are reinforced by Islamic principles such as khalifah fil ardh, ihsan, and qana’ah, which emphasize human responsibility toward nature. These findings enrich the study of Islamic eco-theology by demonstrating that local wisdom can serve as a tangible form of religion-based environmental ethics integrated into community cultural practices. The local wisdom model of Kampung Naga can serve as a reference for the development of environment-based character education, community-based conservation policies, and contributions toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly quality education, climate action, and the protection of terrestrial ecosystems.
