Abstract

MSME companies that have been in operation for decades are now expected to be able to compete and expand alongside one another, given the large number of new MSME enterprises that are beginning to be founded. Because there are so many products on the market with similar quality and composition, MSMEs must have a unique selling point to set their products apart from the competition. Using the Community Partnership Program (PKM) to create MSME logos is a wise move to modernize MSMEs' identities and enable them to effectively convey who and what they now stand for. As part of this program, MSMEs that have been in business for a long time are chosen for this activity, which is conducted from observation to the logo printing procedure. It also gives the target market a positive, consistent, and impressive image of MSME entities and products, which will increase the product's selling value and attractiveness. Finally, it presents an eye-catching and educational logo that is suitable for all levels of society.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease that often goes undiagnosed in the elderly population, despite its long-term impact on quality of life and the risk of chronic complications. Through this community service activity, HbA1c screening was conducted for 76 elderly residents at Panti Werdha Hana as an early detection effort for diabetes mellitus, accompanied by education on healthy eating patterns and the importance of physical activity in diabetes prevention. The results showed an average HbA1c level of 5.99%, with 21.54% of participants identified in the diabetes category and 38.46% in the prediabetes category. These findings emphasize the importance of routine screening in the elderly, as the majority of participants had HbA1c levels exceeding normal thresholds. This program successfully identified elderly individuals with abnormal blood glucose levels and increased their awareness of the importance of early detection as an integral part of diabetes management. Abstract

Hyperuricemia is a medical condition characterized by an increase in uric acid levels in the blood above normal limits, which is more than 7 mg/dL in men and more than 6 mg/dL in women. This condition is often found in the elderly due to decreased kidney function that occurs with the aging process. Hyperuricemia can increase the risk of gouty arthritis, kidney disorders, and cardiometabolic diseases such as hypertension and dyslipidemia. Community Service Activities (PKM) at Panti Werdha Hana aim to increase awareness among the elderly about the importance of early detection of uric acid levels and education on their prevention and management. This activity utilizies the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) method, where uric acid levels are measured, and educational materials are provided on uric acid and its associated risk factors. Participants with have uric acid levels above the normal threshold are provided with additional education and recommendations for medical follow-up. The results showed that of the 76 elderly who participated in the activity, 12 people (15.79%) experienced hyperuricemia, while 64 people (84.21%) had uric acid levels within the normal range. Early detection of uric acid levels is a crucial step in preventive efforts against more serious complications, as well as a key basis for planning sustainable health interventions to enhance the quality of life for the elderly.

Abstract

This community service program was implemented from April to December 2019 in partnership with the Neke Molo farmer group located in Baumata Timur Village, Taebenu District, Kupang Regency. The group, composed of both male and female members, focuses on dryland management and its economic utilization through the processing of agricultural and livestock products. The program was initiated in response to several identified issues: limited knowledge of planting patterns and water resource management, underutilized intercropping potential within cashew plantations, and high dependency on chemical fertilizers. The intervention involved regular mentoring, community empowerment, the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies, training in the utilization of agricultural waste, and the development of local food products based on available commodities. In addition, a planting calendar was collaboratively developed with farmers based on groundwater availability. The outcomes of the program included virgin coconut oil (VCO) production, the creation of eight tons of bokashi compost, the establishment of horticultural demonstration plots (tomato, mustard greens, chili, long beans, eggplant, water spinach), and the raising of two pairs of pigs. The total income generated from these activities reached IDR 23,340,000, indicating a positive economic impact on the local farming community.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to improve the competence of Arabic teachers at SMPI Brawijaya Pungging Mojokerto in compiling learning evaluations based on the cognitive domain in accordance with Bloom's Taxonomy. So far, learning evaluations often only focus on aspects of low-level knowledge (lower-order thinking skills), while high-level thinking skills (higher-order thinking skills) have not been systematically touched upon. Through this training, teachers are introduced to the concept of Bloom's Taxonomy as a whole, from the level of knowledge to evaluation, and are guided to compile indicators, learning objectives, and Arabic evaluation instruments that are in line with each level of the cognitive domain. The method of implementing the activity includes delivering materials, interactive discussions, and practicing compiling evaluations based on Bloom's Taxonomy. The results of the activity show an increase in teachers' understanding and skills in designing evaluations that are more varied, contextual, and able to encourage students' critical thinking skills. This activity is expected to be the first step in improving the quality of Arabic learning as a whole at SMPI Brawijaya Pungging Mojokerto.

Abstract

Effective and responsive public service at the village or sub-district level relies heavily on human resource capacity, particularly in mastering soft skills and conflict management. In Sidodadi Sub-district, Bandar Lampung, public service delivery still faces various challenges, such as miscommunication among staff, confusing service procedures for citizens, and weak cross-sectoral coordination. These issues are exacerbated by entrenched hierarchical work culture based on seniority, which hinders synergy and efficiency in providing integrated services. To address these problems, a community service program (PKM) was implemented in the form of soft skills and conflict management training for local government personnel. The method included partnership approval and coordination, problem identification through observation and interviews, development of need-based training modules, delivery of interactive sessions, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test instruments. A total of 25 staff members from different units of the sub-district participated in the program. Evaluation results showed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding, with the average score increasing from 62.4 to 84.6 after the training (an increase of 35.6%). As many as 88% of participants improved by more than 15 points, and 96% expressed readiness to promote cross-functional collaboration without emphasizing seniority. This training has proven effective in fostering behavioural change toward more professional, synergistic, and citizen-oriented public service.

Abstract

The Community Partnership Empowerment (PKM) program was conducted with the “Giat Bakti Lestari” Farmer Group in Cibadung Village, Gunung Sindur, Bogor. Partners faced two main problems: low banana harvest quality caused by Fusarium wilt disease and the presence of idle, unproductive land. As a solution, the PKM team introduced banana propagation using tissue culture technology through socialization, training, and mentoring. This method offers several advantages over conventional propagation, including faster cultivation, mass production, disease-free seedlings, and genetic uniformity. However, partners had no prior exposure to tissue culture technology. Thus, the PKM activity focused on equipping farmers with skills in household-scale tissue culture techniques and providing simple facilities to support sustainable seedling production. By engaging in this program, the farmer group is expected to gain essential knowledge and practical skills, enabling them to independently manage tissue culture propagation. This initiative not only addresses crop loss due to disease but also promotes the use of modern agricultural practices to maximize land productivity. The activity ultimately aims to foster self-reliance among farmers and contribute to the development of innovative an sustainable farming in the village.
