Abstract

The problem of waste dumping on Bali coast must be regarded as an ecological crisis which proves to be unseen under many perspectives. The article is about the making of a documentary film Apocalyptic Tides as an advocacy and educational tool bringing up this issue by means of the expository documentary style with highlights of poetry and performance elements in play. The method of field observation, semi-structured interviews with activist and scholars and visual documentation are also used in the research, followed by analysis and compiling of information with the help of non-linear editing tools by using Adobe Premiere Pro software. The film is set on a thematic narrative that shows the process of the waste as it goes upstream to downstream and how it affects the ecology and thoughts on the ecological consciousness. Techniques of non-linear editing were applied to organize the footage according to emotional echo and the schemes of meaning instead of the chronological order, thus creating an intellectually stimulating and reflective storyline. Apocalyptic Tides proves the power of documentary film to bridge the gap between art, science, and advocacy in case of creating the ecology-minded population.

Abstract

Waste issues are the main focus and challenge in supporting sustainable development and the implementation of circular economy principles. This community service aims to optimize the implementation of a circular economy system through the use of SIMBAHNIRA (Organic Waste Management Information System) technology in managing organic waste at KSM Brayan, Tanjung Village. The methods used in this service are socialization, training, and direct assistance to KSM Brayan members. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation in the SIMBAHNIRA implementation process. The results show that the implementation of SIMBAHNIRA has succeeded in increasing the efficiency of waste transaction recording, encouraging community participation in collecting organic waste.

Abstract

The Sentek Dulang Bao Masjid tradition is a cultural heritage of the Sebeok community that has been preserved across generations as a unifying medium and a means of fostering Ukhuwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood). This practice is carried out during significant occasions such as Islamic holidays, weddings, and thanksgiving ceremonies, serving as a platform for social interaction among residents. Through the ritual of sharing food on a dulang (large tray) followed by communal prayers, this tradition manifests the values of togetherness and brotherhood in Islam. Over time, Sentek Dulang Bao Masjid has evolved beyond a religious ritual to function as a mechanism for strengthening social cohesion amidst the heterogeneity of Sebeok Village society. This study reveals how the existence of the Sentek Dulang Bao Masjid tradition plays a strategic role in building and reinforcing Ukhuwah Islamiyah. Employing an ethnographic approach with participatory observation and in-depth interviews, the research found that this tradition serves as an effective communication space that facilitates conflict resolution and fosters mutual understanding among community members. The preparation and implementation of this ritual involve all elements of society, regardless of social status, reflecting the egalitarian values inherent in Islamic teachings. Despite facing challenges from modernization and social change, the people of Sebeok Village continue to uphold the essence of this tradition through adaptations that do not diminish its fundamental values. The findings indicate that the sustainability of the Sentek Dulang Bao Masjid tradition as a vehicle for developing Ukhuwah Islamiyah is supported by three main pillars: the endorsement of religious and customary leaders, the active participation of the younger generation, and the integration of traditional values into informal education within the community. This tradition serves as a bridge linking Islamic values with local wisdom, thus creating enduring social harmony. Consequently, Sentek Dulang Bao Masjid is not only a cultural identity of the Sebeok community but also an effective instrument for strengthening Islamic unity and brotherhood in the contemporary era.

Abstract

Inclusive digital learning platforms offer a strategic solution to bridge the educational access gap for persons with disabilities in Indonesia. This community service initiative was conducted at the Paradifa Indonesia Foundation, which acts as a facilitator for the use of web-based Learning Management Systems (LMS) designed for users with disabilities. The project aimed to combine user needs analysis with a comprehensive technical review to support the development of an inclusive LMS. The activities involved seminars and technical briefings as part of a structured socialization process. Topics included enterprise architecture, system components, LMS design layers, cloud-based system structures, and technical evaluations. The findings support the recommendation to adopt a microservices-based enterprise architecture hosted in the cloud, addressing key factors such as server performance, data protection, interoperability, and accessibility for disabled users. This program is expected to strengthen both development and facilitation teams in implementing inclusive digital learning solutions. Additionally, it ensures that the system architecture and security mechanisms are reliable and adaptive to user needs. The outcomes may serve as a replicable model for other institutions aiming to develop accessible and efficient LMS platforms for inclusive education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The implementation of qurban worship in accordance with Islamic law still faces various challenges, particularly regarding public understanding of proper halal slaughter procedures and effective qurban management. This community service activity aims to enhance the religious literacy of STIE Ganesha’s academic community through participatory training on halal slaughter and qurban management. The training was held on May 31, 2025, at the STIE Ganesha Hall, involving lecturers, students, and campus staff. The methods included delivering fiqh qurban material, technical demonstrations of slaughtering, field simulations, and reflective discussions based on case studies. The results of the training showed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of halal slaughter principles and their technical abilities in managing qurban in a trustworthy, efficient, and Sharia-compliant manner. These findings indicate that a participatory training approach effectively strengthens religious literacy and develops competent, religious, and responsible qurban practitioners. The implications of this activity highlight the importance of continuing halal education programs within the campus environment as part of the institution’s contribution to strengthening religious practices based on knowledge, values, and adherence to Islamic law.
